In his cheap flat, Marvin had just gotten out of the bathroom and was now drying his hair with a small towel.
As he looked at his reflection in the mirror, he realized one thing: he now had a body like a martial arts athlete. Even his abdominal muscles were perfectly formed, making him look strong.
‘Is this me now? Is this another effect of whatever happened yesterday?’ he thought.
He struck a few poses, marveling at his own muscles. Physically, he was now an ideal man. Many women would easily be attracted to him if they saw him shirtless.
Marvin managed a smile, but it quickly vanished.
He picked up his phone. He reread the chat message from Jessie, Melanie’s sister, informing him that Melanie and Alex were officially engaged.
Jessie had ended her chat message with a mocking sentence, saying she could finally breathe a sigh of relief because her sister had finally paired up with a rich man worthy of her, not a shameless poor man like Marvin.
The chat message had arrived on Marvin’s phone about half an hour ago. That was why Marvin had decided to shower and wash his hair.
Now, Marvin sat on the edge of his bed, contemplating the reply he would write.
He now realized that Melanie didn’t deserve his love. However, the way Melanie had ended their relationship yesterday, as well as Alex’s involvement, made him reluctant to just let it go.
He harbored resentment towards them. Towards Alex, towards Melanie and her family. He promised himself that one day, no matter how, he would make them suffer. Suffer to the fullest!
Marvin put his phone down on the bed and stood up. He decided not to reply to Jessie’s chat message.
He removed the towel and started to get dressed. Suddenly, that robotic voice sounded again:
[Master’s wish has been noted. Initiating mission adjustment process.]
Marvin frowned, not knowing what that meant.
A moment later, as he sat on the edge of the bed, he heard the robotic voice again:
[Mission adjustment process complete.]
[Primary Objective: Destroy the Dunns and Banguards.]
[NEXT MISSION]
[Tomorrow night, Master must go to the night district in downtown Murndale to help a red-haired woman.]
[Reward: Trust and loyalty from the red-haired woman.]
[Bonus: To be announced after the mission is completed.]
Marvin frowned. What was this new mission about? He had to help someone he didn’t even know?
Marvin found this mission strange. But then he remembered his previous mission. He nodded.
‘There must be something behind this mission. Something I will know and understand later,’ he thought.
…
The next night, after work, Marvin took a taxi to the night district in downtown Murndale.
This district was very popular among the upper-middle class, offering various forms of entertainment to relieve stress and indulge desires.
Marvin had never been there before, so he was a little nervous and confused. He walked along the sidewalk, glancing left and right, looking for the red-haired woman who needed help.
Too busy looking left and right, Marvin didn’t see two men ahead of him walking in opposite directions while drunk.
Bump!
He collided with one of them, sending the man sprawling.
“Watch your step, you motherfucker!!” yelled another man, glaring at Marvin as he helped his friend stand up.
Marvin stopped and looked at the two of them. In moments like this, he would usually choose to pretend to be deaf to avoid conflict. Now, for some reason, he felt that was no longer an option for him.
“I should be the one saying that to you. You’re drunk, stumbling around. Lucky only one of you fell,” Marvin said.
Of course, this angered the man who was glaring at him.
“Bastard! Are you looking for death! Take this!”
The man, who was not as drunk as his friend, attacked Marvin blindly, throwing punches and blows.
Marvin blocked them all with ease. Then, with one move, he brought the man down and stepped on his chest.
“If this were a fight to the death, you’d be dead right now,” Marvin said coldly.
The man gasped. Beads of sweat appeared on his face. “S-sorry, bro. S-sorry.”
Marvin lifted his foot and pulled his right leg back. He looked at the other man. The man looked at him with fear, as if Marvin were a monster in his eyes.
“Don’t let me see you again,” Marvin said, then turned and left.
The men looked at each other. A moment later, they sighed in relief, like people who had just escaped death.
Marvin continued walking down the sidewalk, looking left and right.
The situation was similar to the Chinatown area yesterday afternoon. He idly wondered if he had to set a five-minute time limit before the red-haired woman would appear before him.
Ironically, just after thinking that, he saw a red-haired woman in front of a nightclub, standing and holding posters, offering them to passing men.
The woman wore a tight dress that showed off her curves. Her makeup was a bit heavy. She was beautiful.
One thing that made Marvin squint his eyes: the woman’s long legs were trembling.
When a man in a black suit came out of the nightclub and started scolding the woman, Marvin could guess the red-haired woman’s situation.
She was likely an employee at the nightclub, perhaps a hostess, and so far that night she hadn’t gotten a single customer.
The man in the black suit scolded her mercilessly. The red-haired woman could only lower her head, terrified. Her long legs trembled even more.
‘Is this the woman I have to help? What if it’s not her?’ Marvin thought.
He slowed his pace, scanning his surroundings to check if there were any other red-haired women.
There were none. He directed his eyes forward again. The man in the black suit was now tapping the red-haired woman’s head.
“Hey, you don’t have to do that to her. Is that how you talk to a woman?”
The man in the black suit and the red-haired woman both looked towards Marvin. They both looked confused.
“Who are you? Is this woman your friend?” the man in the black suit asked.
Marvin shook his head. “No. I don’t even know who she is. But I can’t just stand by and watch you scold her like that in front of me.”
The man sneered. “It’s none of your business. I’m the manager of this club. It’s my job to scold useless hostesses like her. You should just leave. Mind your own business.”
“No, I’m not leaving. I’m here to help her.”
“Huh??”
Marvin stopped walking and turned his eyes to the red-haired woman. She looked at him, confused and suspicious.
“I know you’re cold,” Marvin said. “How about you come with me? We’ll get something warm to eat. My treat.”
Furrows appeared on the woman’s forehead. Her mouth opened, but she said nothing.
“Hey, are you an idiot or what? I told you, she’s a hostess here. Do you think you can just ask her to leave while she’s working?
“If you want to treat her to something warm, bring her inside, buy her food. That is, if you have enough money.
“From what I see… you don’t look like a rich man. Let me guess, you don’t have a credit card in your wallet, do you?”
The man’s guess was correct; Marvin didn’t have a credit card in his wallet. But that didn’t matter. He still had enough money to hire a hostess at the nightclub and order expensive food there, if he wanted to.
However, Marvin wouldn’t do that. He snatched the posters from the red-haired woman’s hands and threw them into the air.
“Stop working here. Come with me. I’ll treat you to a good meal,” Marvin said, smiling broadly.

He Must Have Lost His Mind
Marvin lowered his hand, slipped the phone back into his jeans pocket, and stood with his arms relaxed at his sides.Watching his calm demeanor, Felix gave a mocking smirk. “Who did you just call? Did you bring an army to back you up?”“Something like that,” Marvin replied. “And just as I said before, this is going to be one of the worst nights of your life. Tonight, I’m going to take over this club of yours.”For a brief moment, Felix stared at him seriously, but then he burst out laughing. He glanced over at Damian, who was standing upright again despite still looking in pain.“Is this fool making any sense at all, Damian? Do you understand what he’s rambling about?” Felix asked.“I think he’s just trying to copy what I did, sir,” Damian sneered. “I called Jab a moment ago to send his men here. Probably this trash thinks he can scare us the same way.”Felix raised one eyebrow. “Is that so? Reinforcements, you say? What kind of pathetic reinforcements could you possibly have called?
Felix Banguard
The atmosphere inside the club had never felt this tense. The usual chatter and laughter died down instantly; every eye in the room turned toward Marvin and Damian. Even the music had stopped playing.Damian let out a sharp breath. He reached into his pocket, pulled out his phone, tapped a few numbers, and held it to his ear.“We have troublemakers here. Bring your men over immediately,” he said coldly.Someone spoke on the other end, but their voice was too quiet for anyone else to hear. Damian lowered his phone and slipped it back into his pocket.“Listen here, you trash! This is your first and last warning. Get out now, or your life ends tonight!” Damian threatened, his voice heavy with menace.Marvin smiled that same wicked smile again. “Actually, it’s your life that’s about to end tonight. You can still stop this from happening, though, if you apologize properly for everything you’ve done to my employee, Emily.”Damian frowned. “Your employee? You call Emily your employee?”“That
Your Time Runs Out
Emily still didn’t fully understand, but for some reason, she found herself trusting his words completely.“Very well then. So I really don’t have anything to worry about anymore?”“Nothing at all. It’s all taken care of. You can focus on your work and rest as usual.”Marvin smiled again, and somehow, that smile seemed to radiate confidence and charm. Little by little, in Emily’s eyes, he looked more and more handsome.“Oh, and one more thing.”Marvin reached into his back pocket and pulled out a small envelope. He placed it on the table and slid it across to her.“This is a bonus for you. You’ve done a great job making this shop so busy,” he said, keeping that same easy smile.Emily picked up the envelope and peeked inside. Her eyes widened instantly.“This is…”“One hundred thousand dollars,” Marvin finished. “Daniel and his daughter will receive the same amount as well.”Emily stared at him in disbelief. Even though her salary at the shop was quite decent, it was only a few thousan
You Don’t Need To Worry Anymore
A few hours later…“Boss, are you seriously planning to send our men to hit that nightclub tomorrow?” Baron asked, his eyebrows drawn tightly together.“Yeah, I’m deadly serious. Go tell the others. We move tomorrow night,” Walter replied, taking a drag from his cigar.Baron stared at him in disbelief. They were alone in Walter’s private room. Walter had just explained what Marvin had ordered him to do.“But Boss, why should we risk getting into serious trouble just because that bastard tells us to?”“Watch your mouth, Baron!”Baron flinched. Walter turned his head and gave him a look that was cold and dangerous.Having served Walter for over a decade, Baron knew exactly what that look meant. It was the same expression Walter gave to enemies he intended to eliminate.“I’m sorry, Boss.” Baron bowed his head.Walter narrowed his eyes and took another puff.“Marvin is my boss now. If you dare speak disrespectfully about him again, you’ll face severe punishment. You understand?”“Understo
Loyal Ally
The overwhelming force of Walter’s aura surged out again, making Baron’s skin prickle with fear.“I… I think we should kill him, Boss… This is our chance…” Baron stammered.Walter tightened his grip on Baron’s wrist until Baron cried out in pain. The pistol slipped from his fingers and clattered onto the floor, landing right beside Marvin’s head.“I lost to him, and now he is my boss. How dare you point a gun at my boss? Do you want me to put a bullet in you? Is that what you want?!”“N-no, Boss… I… I’m sorry, Boss…”Still looking furious, Walter released Baron’s wrist and shoved him back slightly. Baron stumbled, clutching his sore arm.“Everyone listen up!” Walter shouted loudly. “Starting this second, this man is part of the Black Skull. And he is no ordinary member—he stands above me. Or at the very least, he is my equal. Anyone who tries to harm him will answer to me. You understand?!”After a brief moment of silence, the gang members began to nod and reply that they understood.
From Now On, You Are My Boss
Baron and the rest of the Black Skull gang stared in shock at what they had just witnessed. Baron stepped forward, ready to help Walter stand up, but Walter raised his left hand, stopping him in his tracks.“I’m fine,” Walter said, wiping away the blood from his upper lip and mouth.Using one hand for support, Walter slowly pushed himself up into a sitting position, then rose to his feet. His eyes remained locked firmly on Marvin, burning with fierce intensity.Marvin stood still, his gaze never leaving Walter either. There was blood on his right fist, but it was not his own; it belonged to Walter.“It’s been a long time since anyone made my nose bleed,” Walter said once he was fully upright. “The last time it happened, I beat that man so badly he ended up in a coma for months.”Walter dropped back into his fighting stance, but this time his aura felt completely different. Marvin could tell that his opponent was taking this far more seriously now.“Get ready to face our Boss’s rage, y
