Damian, the man in the black suit, stared wide-eyed at the posters Marvin had thrown down. He then shot a sharp, furious glare at Marvin.
“Hey, you poor bastard! What the hell do you think you’re doing, huh? Looking for trouble with me?” Marvin met Damian’s gaze without a trace of fear. “Whatever bad thought is running through your head right now, you’d better not act on it. The outcome will be terrible for you.” Marvin spoke those words with unshakable confidence. Combined with his upright, commanding posture, they carried far more weight than usual. And Emily, the red-haired woman, noticed this immediately. “How dare you! Fine, if that’s how you want it!” Damian snapped, then let out a long, sharp whistle. Two seconds later, the club’s front door swung open. Two large, burly men dressed in black t-shirts and black jeans stepped out. They looked toward Damian, waiting for his orders. “Teach this guy a lesson and dump him in the trash!” Damian yelled, pointing straight at Marvin. In an instant, both men turned their eyes toward Marvin—their gazes fierce, radiating open hostility. Their biceps and triceps bulged visibly beneath the short sleeves of their shirts. Marvin sighed, then glanced at Damian with an air of lazy indifference. “Are you really sure you want to go through with this? This is your final warning.” Damian’s response? He spat on the ground and growled, “Beat him as hard as you want. Leave him crippled if you have to.” Hearing this, Emily’s eyes went round with shock. “Mr. Damian, there’s no need to take it this far—” “Shut your mouth, you useless woman!” Damian barked. “Once I’m done dealing with this worthless beggar, I’ll handle you next.” Emily immediately lowered her head and pressed her lips shut, her courage vanishing in an instant. None of this escaped Marvin’s notice. Now he was certain she was exactly the person he needed to help and rescue. “Nothing personal, buddy. We’re just doing our job,” one of the large men said. “Relax. We won’t hurt you that badly if you come to your senses and leave right now,” the other added. Marvin took a deep breath and let it out slowly. He found this situation familiar—much like what had happened near the lake not long ago. He was confident he could handle both men easily. And that was exactly how it went. The moment the two men got close enough to grab him, Marvin moved with blinding speed. He took them both down in one smooth motion, leaving them kneeling on the floor, groaning in pain. Marvin stood calmly right behind them, between the two, twisting one of each of their arms behind their backs. “If I’d gone all out, you two would already be crippled,” Marvin said plainly. Emily stumbled back two steps, covering her mouth with both hands. Damian froze in place, his eyes and mouth wide open in utter disbelief. He clearly had never expected to see something like this. Meanwhile, the two large men continued to groan in agony. Having no intention of hurting them further, Marvin released their arms. They nearly fell over, but quickly scrambled to their feet and backed away from Marvin, eyeing him warily while clutching their sore, twisted arms. Marvin turned his attention back to Damian. “Got any more tricks up your sleeve? If not, I’m taking her with me,” he said, pointing toward Emily. Emily lowered her hands, still looking completely confused. Damian glanced briefly at Emily, then fixed his eyes on Marvin again. After seeing firsthand how easily Marvin had defeated the club’s two guards, he knew he could not win this through brute force. But he still had one more card to play. “Fine. You can take her—on one condition. You pay the compensation f*e. One million dollars!” he declared. Marvin narrowed his eyes and glanced at Emily for a split second. Seeing her shocked reaction, he realized Damian had named that outrageous sum specifically to stop him from taking her away. But for Marvin right now, one million dollars was no problem at all. His account balance was more than enough. He pulled out his phone. “Give me your account number. I’ll transfer it right now,” he said. Damian smirked, fully convinced Marvin was only pretending to have that kind of money. He rattled off his account details and took out his own phone. “I’ll give you one minute. If the money doesn’t hit my account by then, she stays here and you get out,” Damian said, pointing at Emily again. Emily’s face was still filled with confusion. Was this stranger really willing to take her away? Was he actually ready to spend one million dollars just to do that? “Done. Check your incoming transactions,” Marvin said, tilting his chin slightly and slipping his phone back into his pocket. Damian frowned, though his smug smirk remained. But the moment he checked his account activity, that smile vanished completely. “You… you actually transferred one million dollars…?” “The money is there, isn’t it? Now you have no right to stop me from taking her.” Marvin walked over to Emily and gently took her hand. Looking straight into her eyes, he gave her a reassuring nod. “Let’s go.” Emily’s lips parted slightly, but she said nothing. She remained quiet as Marvin led her away from the nightclub. Damian also stayed silent, just watching them walk off. The two security guards did the same, still holding their aching arms. After walking some distance, Emily pressed her lips together, blinked several times, and suddenly stopped in her tracks. Marvin halted too, turning back to look at her. “Is something wrong?” Emily did not answer right away. Instead, she took a long, deep breath and let it out slowly. “Why are you doing this? Are you trying to help me? Have we met before somewhere?” she asked. Marvin frowned and let go of her hand. He turned fully to face her directly. “Am I trying to help you? The answer is yes. If you’re asking why, it’s simple—I saw you needed help. As for whether we’ve met before, the answer is no, we haven’t.” His straightforward reply only left Emily more confused. “But… why? Why help me? You even spent a whole million dollars for it. That… that just doesn’t make sense,” she said.Latest Chapter
He Must Have Lost His Mind
Marvin lowered his hand, slipped the phone back into his jeans pocket, and stood with his arms relaxed at his sides.Watching his calm demeanor, Felix gave a mocking smirk. “Who did you just call? Did you bring an army to back you up?”“Something like that,” Marvin replied. “And just as I said before, this is going to be one of the worst nights of your life. Tonight, I’m going to take over this club of yours.”For a brief moment, Felix stared at him seriously, but then he burst out laughing. He glanced over at Damian, who was standing upright again despite still looking in pain.“Is this fool making any sense at all, Damian? Do you understand what he’s rambling about?” Felix asked.“I think he’s just trying to copy what I did, sir,” Damian sneered. “I called Jab a moment ago to send his men here. Probably this trash thinks he can scare us the same way.”Felix raised one eyebrow. “Is that so? Reinforcements, you say? What kind of pathetic reinforcements could you possibly have called?
Felix Banguard
The atmosphere inside the club had never felt this tense. The usual chatter and laughter died down instantly; every eye in the room turned toward Marvin and Damian. Even the music had stopped playing.Damian let out a sharp breath. He reached into his pocket, pulled out his phone, tapped a few numbers, and held it to his ear.“We have troublemakers here. Bring your men over immediately,” he said coldly.Someone spoke on the other end, but their voice was too quiet for anyone else to hear. Damian lowered his phone and slipped it back into his pocket.“Listen here, you trash! This is your first and last warning. Get out now, or your life ends tonight!” Damian threatened, his voice heavy with menace.Marvin smiled that same wicked smile again. “Actually, it’s your life that’s about to end tonight. You can still stop this from happening, though, if you apologize properly for everything you’ve done to my employee, Emily.”Damian frowned. “Your employee? You call Emily your employee?”“That
Your Time Runs Out
Emily still didn’t fully understand, but for some reason, she found herself trusting his words completely.“Very well then. So I really don’t have anything to worry about anymore?”“Nothing at all. It’s all taken care of. You can focus on your work and rest as usual.”Marvin smiled again, and somehow, that smile seemed to radiate confidence and charm. Little by little, in Emily’s eyes, he looked more and more handsome.“Oh, and one more thing.”Marvin reached into his back pocket and pulled out a small envelope. He placed it on the table and slid it across to her.“This is a bonus for you. You’ve done a great job making this shop so busy,” he said, keeping that same easy smile.Emily picked up the envelope and peeked inside. Her eyes widened instantly.“This is…”“One hundred thousand dollars,” Marvin finished. “Daniel and his daughter will receive the same amount as well.”Emily stared at him in disbelief. Even though her salary at the shop was quite decent, it was only a few thousan
You Don’t Need To Worry Anymore
A few hours later…“Boss, are you seriously planning to send our men to hit that nightclub tomorrow?” Baron asked, his eyebrows drawn tightly together.“Yeah, I’m deadly serious. Go tell the others. We move tomorrow night,” Walter replied, taking a drag from his cigar.Baron stared at him in disbelief. They were alone in Walter’s private room. Walter had just explained what Marvin had ordered him to do.“But Boss, why should we risk getting into serious trouble just because that bastard tells us to?”“Watch your mouth, Baron!”Baron flinched. Walter turned his head and gave him a look that was cold and dangerous.Having served Walter for over a decade, Baron knew exactly what that look meant. It was the same expression Walter gave to enemies he intended to eliminate.“I’m sorry, Boss.” Baron bowed his head.Walter narrowed his eyes and took another puff.“Marvin is my boss now. If you dare speak disrespectfully about him again, you’ll face severe punishment. You understand?”“Understo
Loyal Ally
The overwhelming force of Walter’s aura surged out again, making Baron’s skin prickle with fear.“I… I think we should kill him, Boss… This is our chance…” Baron stammered.Walter tightened his grip on Baron’s wrist until Baron cried out in pain. The pistol slipped from his fingers and clattered onto the floor, landing right beside Marvin’s head.“I lost to him, and now he is my boss. How dare you point a gun at my boss? Do you want me to put a bullet in you? Is that what you want?!”“N-no, Boss… I… I’m sorry, Boss…”Still looking furious, Walter released Baron’s wrist and shoved him back slightly. Baron stumbled, clutching his sore arm.“Everyone listen up!” Walter shouted loudly. “Starting this second, this man is part of the Black Skull. And he is no ordinary member—he stands above me. Or at the very least, he is my equal. Anyone who tries to harm him will answer to me. You understand?!”After a brief moment of silence, the gang members began to nod and reply that they understood.
From Now On, You Are My Boss
Baron and the rest of the Black Skull gang stared in shock at what they had just witnessed. Baron stepped forward, ready to help Walter stand up, but Walter raised his left hand, stopping him in his tracks.“I’m fine,” Walter said, wiping away the blood from his upper lip and mouth.Using one hand for support, Walter slowly pushed himself up into a sitting position, then rose to his feet. His eyes remained locked firmly on Marvin, burning with fierce intensity.Marvin stood still, his gaze never leaving Walter either. There was blood on his right fist, but it was not his own; it belonged to Walter.“It’s been a long time since anyone made my nose bleed,” Walter said once he was fully upright. “The last time it happened, I beat that man so badly he ended up in a coma for months.”Walter dropped back into his fighting stance, but this time his aura felt completely different. Marvin could tell that his opponent was taking this far more seriously now.“Get ready to face our Boss’s rage, y
