Chapter One - The Supreme Commander Returns.

The inside of the military operation center was thick with the kind of tension a knife couldn't cut.

Around a rectangular table were high ranking officials in the military, dressed in crisp military uniforms with insignias glittering on their uniforms.

At the head of the table, a man in sat, his expression carved from steel, unreadable and cold. His board shoulder bulged against his uniform that was littered with multiple insignias.

His name is Draven Mercer, the only man who held the title of supreme commander.

A surveillance monitor in grid form displayed real-time battle that makes the room thicken each second with tension.

"Supreme commander, the enemies are closing in from the south with their heavy ammunition and machines. They're more than we expected." A voice cracked through the earpiece.

"Hold fire." Draven said, his voice tight, deep and commanding.

The room gasped.

"Supreme commander, this mission is odd to begin with." General Voss leaned over the table with concern etched in his expression. "Six of our men against two hundred enemies. This is suicide."

Draven looked across the table briefly, his expression unshaken. "Six men I trained personally. That is different."

His voice silenced the room without any further conversations but the tension in the room was still heavy, the faces around the table were plastered with concern except Draven.

His gaze landed on the screen.

"Varkovia armies are luring our men into a trap with their numbers." His voice was confident like he'd seen every strategy. "They're many. Two hundred. But that's not all of them. They knew what force they were standing against so they couldn't possibly send in just two hundred men to fight us."

"They also know six men are on the battlefield, Commander." Another general said, concerned. "We're at a disadvantage."

"No," Draven clipped. "they are."

Immediately he finished, rapid gunfire erupted throughout the room.

"The enemies are engaging, commander!" General Voss panicked. The expression on his face mirrored the other men in the room but not Draven. "We need to counter attack."

"Do not engage." Draven's voice was firm, carrying through the mouthpiece with authority. "Just defend." He leaned back to a relaxed posture.

The officials in the room exchanged stunned glances.

The tension became thicker.

Draven knew the 200 Varkovia armies were sent to tire out his men, so when they finally lowered their guard, they would charge in with full force.

As the enemies continued to open fire on his men, they eventually exhausted their ammunition. Silence settled briefly before deafening roars and rumbles of engines echoed through the room. The enemies were charging in with their full force now.

The room leaned in, surprise cracking through the concern on their faces.

"You're.. you're right, Supreme commander..

A faint smirk tugged at the corner of Draven's lips as he leaned forward gently.

"Now, engage." He commanded.

Barrages of bullet fire erupted throughout the command center as Draven's men opened fire on the enemies from all angles, explosions rocked through the speaker, screams and echoes of people who thought their snare was successful erupted in pain. The officials leaned over, watching everything in awe.

After about twenty minutes, silence fell inside of the command room. The screen was covered with flaring bright red fire and bellowing smoke.

"Enemies vanquish, Commander." A voice broke through the speaker. "No casualties."

The room released their breath now.

The door of the room gilded at that moment and Marcus walked in. Draven's right hand man.

His palm cut through the air to his temple as he gave a revered salute.

"Supreme Commander, the same number had been calling persistently on your personal phone." Marcus said. "Fifteen missed calls within five minutes."

Draven raised a brow and said. "Give me." Marcus handed him the phone and Draven picked the call, planting the device to his ear without speaking first.

The call was silent. But it wasn't the empty kind of silence. Gentle sob and heavy breath that didn't shift Draven's expression the slightest.

Then a small voice shattered the silence, crying,

"Daddy, help mummy, they are going to kill mummy."

Draven's Expression didn't shift yet.

"Who is this?"

"It's me, Daddy. Mummy is in trouble, please save mummy." The voice cried.

This is definitely another scheme from enemies using artificial intelligence to alter their voice to lure them into a trap. But what they didn't know was that he had no daughter, let alone a wife. Wrong move.

He snapped the call, but the phone back buzzed immediately.

Draven picked up the phone quickly, his expression hardening. "Your little trick can't work. Try something else."

"Daddy, it is me. Daddy Draven." The voice came again through sobs. In the background, Draven heard screams. "They will kill mummy. Please come."

Draven paused, the usual steel in his expression cracked slightly now. He went silent, processing the call fast. With his military training, he knew when enemies were putting up an act after being defeated, but this was indeed a panic call.

"Daddy?" He rose to his feet slowly. The kid couldn't have gotten his personal number randomly.

The firewalls protecting his number were impenetrable; not even the most skilled hacker could break through it.

How the girl got his number must have an explanation he couldn't understand right now.

Draven's voice softened.

"Listen, kid." He said calmly. "Stay with your mum wherever you are and stay strong. I will come and save you and mummy."

"Thank you, Dadd.."

"You filthy little rat what are you doing?!" A deep masculine voice snarled, yanking the phone and the clattering sound echoed across as it hit the floor.

The kid screamed.

"Calling for help, Huh? Your promiscuous mother trained you to be smart but it's a pity no one is coming to save you, little mutt."

The call disconnected.

Darven was already moving out of the room. Marcus followed him with a quick stride.

"Trace the number right away." His voice was tight and commanding. "And prepare transportation. We're going Air-bourne. The fastest XR-71 blackbird."

"Yes, Sir."

Marcus got the location of the number Ten seconds after the Call

"60°N from the equator of Crestfall, commander." He said. "It's an abandoned industrial house."

"I need close surveillance on the place." Draven walked out briskly, stepping into the air.

"Yes, Sir."

The six men who had just returned from war, blood all over their tactical vest followed him.

"We're coming with you, supreme commander."

Draven didn't hesitate.

"Prepare six jets. Let's move."

Six black military jets tore through the air with the speed of lightning and after five minutes, they arrived at Crestfall.

Inside the abandoned Warehouse, a young woman wearing a withered dress was surrounded by seven thugs, bleeding on the floor after taking several hits. She crawled to her daughter across the room despite her trauma to protect her.

Another woman wearing an expensive gown walked over to the kid with a cruel expression and planted her heels on her feet.

Julie screamed in pain, bleeding from the fresh injury.

Alessia screamed from her lungs, tears pouring from her eyes fast. "Let my daughter go, please."

Natasha smirked viciously in cruel satisfaction as she inflicted pain on her niece while making her Step-sister watch her daughter suffer.

"You were acting all tough, Alessia," Natasha smirked. "Turns out you're just a fragile little whore acting tough because you wanted to protect the product of your flings.

You refused to marry Viktor. The family is drowning in debt because of your arrogance. You don't even deserve a man like him but yet you're acting important, rejecting his proposal."

"Don't you dare call my daughter a bastard!!" Snapped, his eyes carrying defiance despite being broken. "She has a father and I'm not going to marry Viktor to pay off the family debt!"

"I shouldn't, Huh?" Natasha scoffed, a faint cruel smirk on her lips. "You spread your filthy legs for a stranger, a nobody and you're here claiming she has a father? That's ridiculous, sister."

"I have a daddy." Julie cried, sobbing, "he's coming to save me.

Natasha turned to her and crouched in her front, smirking to her face cruelly.

"Oh, poor little thing, it's a shame you believed everything your mother told you. You're just a mistake from a one night stand, kid. And your mother is a whore."

"My mummy is not a whore." Julie snapped. Despite the tears glazed in her eyes, the strength in her eyes was obvious. She bit Natasha's finger hard. Natasha screamed and retaliated with a slap that snapped Julie's head to the side, her body crashing to the floor.

"Let my daughter go!!" Alessia screamed, dashing to her daughter. One of the thugs shoved her back. She stumbled back and crashed heavily against the floor.

They burst into laughter.

Natasha walked over to her, her heels clicking sharply. Her expression was cold and cruel.

"Strip her!"

Draven asked his sharp eyes dropping to the burner steel box. "It belonged to Alessia's late mother, Evelyn Monroe," Marcus explained, keeping the box on a side table.
