They didn't hold back. Every dozen guards launched at Edwin all at once, their gazes all filled with murderous intent.
Edwin didn't move off from his spot. His gaze remained calm, and his eyes remained steady. Not afraid even for a moment. "It's obvious that he is a novice and has given up on his death." Dan thought, his lips fumbling with a satisfying smile.
Until one of his men landed a kick on Edwin's stomach. He bounced back instantly, a wave of pain cutting through his face as he slumped to the ground.
The eyes of Dan widened, and waves of shock ran through his skull.
How could it be that he was able to defeat someone even without touching them? The rate of his beating heart increased.
Each member of the gang was well-trained. His mouth was left agape. "It has to be a mistake!" He tried to console himself. The waves hit him even harder.
"Even if he is strong. There's no way that he can deal with all of my men."
Dan watched with his mouth wide open. Edwin dodged every single one of the attacks on one foot, without putting in an effort.
Each move cut a slate right through the heart of Dan. Until Edwin got tired. "Now it's my turn!" His words hung a heavy weight on the air, causing the temperature all around them to drop.
His hands tore skilfully into their faces. Each impact of his blow threw three men off through the arena until there were none left.
The noise of their groans filled Dan's ears, and his heart tightened.
It was hard to believe what was before him. He could hear their bones cracking instead of Edwin's.
Dan's skin ran over with goosebumps. His face darkened. "Was this man hiding his identity?" He thought.
There was no way that an ordinary cook would be able to pull such a feat.
His jaw tightened. He was such a fool to have thought he would be paid such a large amount of money just to nap any ordinary man.
Seeing his men on the ground caused his chest to tighten and blood to pump through his veins.
With this anger in his eyes, he tore his shirt right open. His face squeezed into a monstrous look, complementing all the scars on his firm, abs body. "Today. I'm going to add you to the list of one of my victories and make you pay for what you have done to them!" He growled.
Dan shot his attack without waiting for a mutter. His aura gathered in his hands as it tore right through the air and made way for Edwin
His steps were as fast as a bolt of lightning. Almost untraceable by the naked eye.
But Edwin dodged the attack with only a side step, as though it had already been calculated beforehand.
Dan's eyes burst open from their sockets. The whole of his being shook under a strange weight. 'How can this be!'
A lot of people had gone down from the technique that he had formulated during his years in solitude. Kings and queens.
Yet, someone, taking the form of an ordinary cook, was able to evade it after so many years. It was a slap right on his face.
He growled. He must have made a mistake. That was why Edwin was able to calculate his steps.
His breath remained heavy, and he panted, trying to gather back the energy that he had just used for that attack, taking a huge part of his stamina. "So slow!" Edwin commented.
The words caused the nerves on the head of Dan to pound. All the vines on his body popped, and a whirlwind of rage bubbled inside him
He didn't wait to catch his breath anymore. The anger within him was just enough stamina to put Edwin in his grave.
He shot at him. His steps were sharper than a sword cutting through the air. However, again, Edwin's side steps.
Dan's blood ran cold; this time, it wasn't a mistake. Goosebumps formed all over his skin. He had made a terrible mistake in underrating the person standing right before him.
Edwin didn't let him go easily this time. He held on tightly to his shirt and drew him closely to himself. "I warned you. Now you're the one whose ass is getting whooped instead!"
Though Edwin's words fell below a whisper, they shot a low blow down the guts of Dan so that he could no longer breathe.
Like a breeze, Edwin made Dan speed their spine multiple times, the world around him revolving and blood rushing into his head before throwing him off into the air.
A loud bang sounded, and Edwin collided with an adjoining building. Cracks formed all over the walls of the building, and blood poured out from Dan's mouth.
Edwin didn't stop. He made his way towards the Mafia gang lady who shot his eye. He knew these things. The opponent could not let him go.
If Edwin did, more and more gangs were going to come after him after everything that he had done to one gang, seeing him as nothing other than a threat. "Finish me off. But in my next life, I am not going to underrate anyone again." He muttered after gathering the last sample of his strength.
Edwin was about to finish him off when a loud cry streamed into his ears, making his hands go slower. "Please stop!" The shout sounded desperate, and it dripped with a sense of urgency, causing Edwin to turn around towards the direction it came from.

Without a hint of emotion, Edwin pointed off towards a man on an apron and a bucket. Meanwhile, at the other part of the city, Vivian's assessing gaze cuts through from the head of Edwin's down to his throat, her legs tapping slightly on the floor with so much disgust. "Clara!" She called out, her voice trying to hide the disrespect in it."Are you sure that you aren't making a terrible mistake? I mean, just take a look at him. Is this the person who is supposed to help us from our recent predicament?" She hissed, still staring at Edwin from head to toe."Vivian. There aren't any mistakes here! I can tell you that I saw for myself what he is capable of!"Vivian shook her head in utter disapproval. There definitely could not be anything good in this person, who was dressed as a common cook and nothing more. "The only thing that I think he is good at is being broke and poor, Clara! We should send him away already!"Clara frowned deeply. She hates it when anyone disrespects her guests. And this time, it wasn't just any guest; it was the one who was supposed to rescue the
