A gasp ran through the hall. Eyes popped. The Whyte had always treated Madam Grace with a sense of godhood, making sure that she wasn't disturbed or made uncomfortable by anyone. "Have you gone out of your senses?" Clara growled.

Madam Grace was still too shocked to give a reply. Her hands were placed firmly on her red cheeks. "Speak up?" Clara's yell shook her to her bones.

She opened her mouth to speak. But her words broke up into stutters, shattering through the room. "Now you can't speak, right? After humiliating the guest that we have all been preparing for, right?" Her face clenched.

Her words shot a stab right into the heart of Grace and all the other people who were around.

It was now that they understood the gravity of what had been done.

Before Edwin came over, everyone at the villa had been oriented on what should be done and how they should behave. A special orientation was even made for Madam Grace.

This was the first time that such had happened since the time that the Whyte Villa was established.

A shockwave ran through the hall. And after all that orientation, Madam Grace didn't take extra steps to find out who this stranger was, throwing all the training down the drain. "I'm sorry, Miss Clara. I didn't know that?"

"Now you want to claim ignorance?" Clara shot the words back into her throat.

"After everything you have been informed of already? I'm disappointed in you, Grace!" Clara clicked her tongue.

She had always wanted to vent her anger at Grace for the way that she treated the other workers, yelling at them as though they were nothing, even though they were grouped under the same job in the Villa.

However, she would always stop herself because Madam Grace had been there with the Whytes since time immemorial.

Her family was now part of the Whyte family since even her son worked with the Whytes and was paid. handsomely. "You have been given authority for way too long. I guess it's high time you're relieved of your position."

Her feet weakened. Become like jelly. Her hands were clasped, and tears flowed from her eyes. "Please forgive me, Miss Clara. Please. I have worked with this family for so long. My life revolves around this family. Please don't demote me!"

Even though she was pleading, Clara could still feel her arrogance slipping through her voice.

Though Madam Grace was mature by age, she was still a child at heart who didn't know how to act. "A demotion? We are sending you off, Grace. We will pay you for your services to the family." Clara clarified.

The words hit Madam Clara hard. Her lungs were fighting for the free air, and her feet collapsed to the ground. "Please forgive me, Miss. Clara. You can't do this to me!" She pleaded.

Miss. Clara, however, remained adamant. Grace had been warned multiple times about her attitude.

But she had always put off the warnings given to her. Sometimes even increases her bad attitude towards work and workers.

Because she thought that she had established herself in the Whyte household, and it would be impossible for anyone to relieve her of her duties.

If she were allowed to go scout-free again, then she was going to become a tyrant. Something that Clara dislikes so much.

Seeing that Clare wasn't giving any response, Grace quickly turned to Edwin, her eyes laced with a whirlwind of emotions. "Young mister. Please forgive me. I'm like a Grandma to you. I can't live without the support of the Whytes' family. Please plead on my behalf and forgive me!" She pleaded further.

However, the stoic gaze of Edwin, dripping with coldness even though he didn't intend to, was far worse than that of Miss. Clara, making her shrink back. "Miss. Clara is the heiress of the Whyte family, and she's been here for a long time. I believe that she would make a decision that she only deems fit!" Ended Edwin, his face growing.

There was no hope for anymore. Clara turned around towards the guards, the order leaving his lips. "Take her out!" She ordered, and Madam Grace was soon taken out of the hall.

At that instance, most workers were yet to recover from their shocks. Some were happy that they weren't the ones in such a situation. Their heartthrobs, not daring to make eye contact with Edwin.

Clara walked towards Edwin and bowed slightly.  "I'm very sorry for everything! I didn't train my workers properly. You can purchase me in any way that you deem fit!" Her head was still bowed.

She had been informed that Edwin could be a very strict man and was hardly forgiving

That's why she had made the orientation. After making sure that Edwin came over, she could not afford to lose him now due to the silly mistake of a worker.

He was their last hope, and her heart throbbed as the silence between them stretched. "There's no need to apologize. There's so much control that you can assert on humans after all!" Clara let out a long breath of relief at his words, her heart returning to its normal beating rate.

"Thanks very much, Sir Edwin!" She quickly appreciated it.

Clara was about to lead Edwin away from the kitchen to give him a formal introduction to the rest of the household when an aura suddenly pierced through the halls.

Vivian, Clara's sister. She stood tall, just like Clara. Her skin sparkled, and her blue sets of eyes pierced through her heart-shaped face.

For most men, she would be a ten over ten. But going side by side with Clara, she was just average. "Have you finally found the savior?" Vivian's voice dripped with sarcasm.

She has always noted that nothing and no one could save them from the situation that they were currently in, and it was better for them to accept their situation. While Clara was all ready to prove her wrong. "There he is!" Clara pointed towards Edwin with a smile on her face, and the gaze of Vivian immediately dropped.

Without a hint of emotion, Edwin pointed off towards a man on an apron and a bucket. He was the cleaner and had just arrived after he heard the news of the stranger and his mother, Madam Grace, being evicted from the Villa. "You wanted the person who was responsible for all these, right? There he is!"A wave of shock ran through the hall. The murmurs became prominent."Now I think Miss. He was always doing his job properly and checking up on everyone. "You must be out of your mind!" Vivian barked."Edwin. You don't have to be under pressure. We can give you as much time as you want to do your research! Before coming to us with anything!"Harry's looks remained calm and poetic. As though he wasn't even the one who had b

Meanwhile, at the other part of the city, Vivian's assessing gaze cuts through from the head of Edwin's down to his throat, her legs tapping slightly on the floor with so much disgust. "Clara!" She called out, her voice trying to hide the disrespect in it."Are you sure that you aren't making a terrible mistake? I mean, just take a look at him. Is this the person who is supposed to help us from our recent predicament?" She hissed, still staring at Edwin from head to toe."Vivian. There aren't any mistakes here! I can tell you that I saw for myself what he is capable of!"Vivian shook her head in utter disapproval. There definitely could not be anything good in this person, who was dressed as a common cook and nothing more. "The only thing that I think he is good at is being broke and poor, Clara! We should send him away already!"Clara frowned deeply. She hates it when anyone disrespects her guests. And this time, it wasn't just any guest; it was the one who was supposed to rescue the

She was startled. Grace had been serving the Whyte family right from when she was a child, and thus, she was the longest-serving servant.Nobody had ever dared to talk back to her. Talk less of talking to her in the manner and tone that Edwin just did.Her startled face soon dissipated into one of rage. The anger added to the wrinkles that scattered throughout her skin. "Are you out of your mind, young man?" She growled. The halls were already getting filled up. Servants left their positions just to watch what was going on. "Who's that?" One of the servants inquired."I think it's a new worker. And he already had a problem with Madam Grace. Doesn't he know who she is?""You just said that he is new. So how's he supposed to know?" Another hissed."But certainly. His stay in the Villa is going to be very short. Madam Grace is treated with so much respect by the heiress because of her age. If Madam Grace wants anyone gone, then she is going to see to it!" The other worker proclaimed."Se

Edwin inquired quickly.Clara shrank back in her steps. "My father! He gave this to me, saying that you made a promise to him. He helped you with something, I don't know. This is your time to help now!""That old man. Always taking advantage of people!" Though Edwin growled inside his stomach, there was a strange warmth in his eyes."And how about your father?" Inquired Edwin.Because of the vow that he had made, they have been kept separate from each other for so long now.Edwin didn't even know that he was the leader of the Whyte family when they had met.
