"Are you sure you guys are comfortable staying in the same room?" Calvis frowned.

There was only one room left in Suprema, yet they had still insisted on staying at the hotel.

"Yes. It's not as if we're actually going to sleep anyway," Samuel replied.

"Ah, that's right. Forgive me for my ignorance," Calvis said immediately. Someone at their level could go without sleep for several days, after all.

She watched the elders carefully as she spoke, studying their expressions and measuring their reactions. There was a subtle edge to her gaze, as though she were deliberately testing just how far she could push her newfound authority."Five percent?" one of the sect elders immediately objected. He frowned deeply. "That's far too low. If you're doing them such a great favor, you should have demanded at least twenty percent.""I've thought about it carefully," Lena replied, her tone calm and unwavering. "The business specializes in selling extremely rare pills designed to cure poisons caused by named beasts—poisons that are currently considered incurable."Several elders exchanged startled glances."Named beasts?" one of them repeated. "So they can't cure poisons from every beast?""No," Lena said. "For beasts that have no records, or whose records are too limited, the poison has to be studied before a cure can be created."One of the elders leaned forward, curiosity replacing his earlie

Ice Frost Sect was crowded once again. Sect leaders from the various branch sects had gathered from far and wide to attend the ceremony for the appointment of the new sect leader. At the center of the sect grounds, Lena knelt in the middle of an icy pool. A thin layer of mist hovered above the frozen water, curling around her body as the gathered cultivators watched in silence.Boku stepped forward with a golden box in his hands. He stopped before Lena and slowly opened it.An icy bracelet lay inside.Samuel's gaze immediately settled on it. He studied the bracelet carefully, his brows drawing together. He couldn't quite define the sensation it gave him, but something about it made him uncomfortable. His instincts were warning him."This bracelet belonged to the previous sect leader," Boku announced. "It can shield its wearer from all soul attacks and curses in this world."He carefully removed the bracelet from the box and handed the box to an elder standing beside him. Then he lower

Her hair had become much whiter, almost as white as freshly fallen snow. There was something else about her as well. Her temperament had changed, and so had the aura surrounding her. To anyone else, she might have appeared to be an ordinary person without the slightest trace of energy. But Samuel knew better. Her seemingly ordinary appearance was deceptive. Whatever had happened to her during the time they had been apart, she was most likely many times more powerful than she had been before. Lena finally noticed that he had been staring at her. "How have you been?" she asked."You have really changed," Samuel replied. He stepped forward and sat down on the bed beside her.Rosalie's eyes moved between the two of them."Erm..." She cleared her throat awkwardly. "Do I have to go?"Samuel turned his gaze toward her."What do you think?"Rosalie immediately understood."I'll take that as a yes."She turned toward the door without wasting another second."You got the inheritance

Countless strands of white radiance swirled within it, moving like living currents beneath its surface. Occasionally, a faint pulse spread from the sphere, causing the entire inheritance room to tremble.Lena froze. The moment her eyes landed on the white energy ball, something inside her stirred.A strange sensation spread through her soul.Familiarity.Recognition.Connection.It was as though she had known that energy long before this moment. As though it had been waiting for her.Lena's heart began to beat faster."The inheritance..."She instinctively took a step forward. The cold immediately intensified. Her foot landed on the frozen floor with a faint crack. She took another step. Then another. Each step became increasingly difficult. The closer she got to the center, the more violently the cold attacked her body. Frost spread across her gown, her fingers gradually losing sensation. Her legs began to tremble.Still, she continued. The white energy ball seemed to call to her.It

"Who are you people?" one of them asked. The gray-haired man glanced at his partner, confusion flashing across his face."Did you hire some other men or what?""What kind of stupid question is that? When did I start ordering other people?" his partner snapped angrily."Where's he?" the black-cloaked man asked, his eyes sweeping across the room. When he found no one else inside, his expression darkened."Where's who?"The cloaked men exchanged glances before their expressions hardened. Then they dashed forward.Bang!A black-cloaked man drove his foot into the gray-haired man's head. The attack came without warning. The gray-haired man's head snapped to the side as the force of the kick sent him flying backward. His body slammed into the wall with a deafening crash. The wall shattered. He tore straight through it and crashed into another wall, then another, disappearing through the rooms beyond without slowing down. His partner's expression changed instantly. He drew his weapon and too

“Come over,” Samuel said. The man glanced at his partner before leaving his seat and walking toward Samuel.“I’m new here and looking for an inn. I don’t know if you have any recommendations?” he asked when he got closer.A faint glint flashed across the man’s eyes.Seems he’s an easy meal, he celebrated inwardly.“Right. There are many options, but I have one in mind. The Mongoose. It’s not very far from here, and I can lead you directly to the place,” the man said.“That’s even better. Take me there, then.”Samuel rose from his seat. The man led him away from the restaurant. After several minutes of walking through the streets, they finally arrived at a modest-looking inn.“This is the inn,” the man said, gesturing toward the building.Samuel studied it for a moment before turning to him.“Are you sure this is a good place? Because I’m going to stay here for a few days.”“Yes, it is. I can also follow you inside. The inn owner recognizes new faces quickly and has a habit of billing
