Luckily, the fatty didn't think too much about it. He took Samuel's account number, paid, and left in glee.

Samuel watched him leave with a smile on his lips.

"God bless this fatty. It seems like I can make a lot of money treating people. Maybe I really underestimated the value of this skill," he muttered inwardly.

He looked at the time and decided to go. He didn’t want to stay any longer.

"Excuse me, sir. You are the Divine Doctor, right?" He was stopped by a girl wearing huge glasses, with half her face covered by a veil.

If you looked carefully, you could see some black spots on the small patches of skin that were exposed.

"And you are?" Samuel looked at her curiously.

"I’ve been here monitoring you. I saw that fatty go in and come out very happy. He even praised you. I believe it's because you are truly skilled." She paused and lifted her veil a little so Samuel could see the spots, then quickly covered it again.

"I don’t know if I can be cured. I used to be a beautiful girl, but I contracted this strange disease. Nobody might recognize me now because I’ve changed so much and always wear glasses. I’m a celebrity — or at least I was two years ago. But now, I had to abandon my career because of my face," she explained, her voice cracking.

She was clearly holding back tears. Samuel was moved. He looked at her carefully before grabbing her hand to check her pulse. He confirmed his suspicion immediately.

"You’ve been poisoned, and it’s a lethal one. I can cure you, but it’ll take five to seven days to treat you completely," he said firmly.

The girl looked relieved when she heard him.

"Can you really cure me?" she asked, almost in tears.

"Yes, but… it’s going to cost you a lot, and you’ll have to pay upfront," he added.

"But… you said payment after treatment," she said suspiciously.

"I said that, but this is different. Your treatment is going to cost a lot, and I can’t wait five to seven days to collect my money. I’d rather pass."

Inwardly, he thought, I’d be dead before the treatment is over. No matter how moved I am to help her, I can’t risk my life for her sake. If her sickness had been ordinary, he would have treated her easily. But she had been poisoned with a lethal toxin, likely by a cultivator, because her body contained traces of vicious qi.

If he had a high cultivation, he could have cured her instantly and removed the negative qi, but his cultivation was low — much lower than the culprit’s. This confirmed one thing: there were cultivators in this world.

The veiled lady gritted her teeth. She felt like she was being scammed, but she decided to risk it anyway.

"How much will the treatment cost?" she asked.

"It’ll cost you over half a million dollars," he replied.

She asked for his account and immediately paid the money. It didn’t matter if her judgment was wrong, she had already given more than this to doctors before.

"When are we going?"

She wanted the treatment to happen in her house. She preferred it to be a private affair.

"Just wait for a moment so I can buy the herbs I need."

"I’ll follow you," she said. She didn’t want to let him out of her sight.

Samuel smiled wryly and shrugged. He bought a set of silver needles and other herbs that cost him over fifty thousand dollars.

She watched him buy everything and assumed it was all for her treatment. She felt guilty for doubting him.

After Samuel was done with his purchases, he followed her to where she had parked her car. He was surprised when he saw it. The previous body owner had been a car lover, always fantasizing about owning luxury cars. He once owned one, but it was seized by the family.

Samuel had inherited those memories, along with a liking for luxury cars. This made him believe even more that he had merged with the previous body owner’s soul, although his own soul was dominant and had swallowed the other.

"Come in, don’t just stand there staring," she urged after settling in the car and noticing Samuel spacing out. She secretly thought he was captivated by her car, but when she remembered the money she had paid, she grimaced. She only had ten million left after spending heavily to restore her looks yet in vain, so half a million dollars was no small matter.

If he succeeded in curing her, she would be grateful. If he didn’t, she had already sent people to check his identity and would make him pay double.

Samuel followed her into the car. It was awkward at first. He cleared his throat lightly.

"Ehm… my name is Samuel. How should I address you?"

She snapped out of her thoughts and glanced at him briefly before answering.

"My name is Vicky. You can call me Vi." She watched him carefully to see if he would react to her name. Although she wasn’t internationally famous, she was well-known locally, and her name was quite unique.

Samuel didn’t show any recognition and simply nodded. She grew annoyed and cursed silently.

After a few minutes of driving, they arrived at a one-story mansion.

"This is my home," she announced proudly as she got out of the car.

Samuel wasn’t impressed. The previous body owner had lived in a house much larger than this, and even in his original world, his home had been ten times bigger. He was just surprised that such a young girl could afford a mansion; it showed her background wasn’t simple.

Vicky felt irritated. Why isn’t he moved? I’m sure he’s just pretending. Hateful fellow, she cursed inwardly before sauntering into the mansion without another glance at him.

Samuel followed. Inside, she had him wait in the living room while she arranged her room before inviting him in. While he waited patiently, a lady in her early thirties walked into the room wearing an unfriendly look.

"So you’re the con artist? Let me tell you, for your safety, I advise you to leave now while you still can. I’ll pretend like nothing happened, or else you’ll regret your actions in the future."

He stared at her, wondering who she was.

"Excuse me, but… who are you? And why do you even think I’m a con artist? You don’t know me," he said angrily.

"I know your kind. Stop deceiving the young miss. She has suffered enough already. Just look at your age — you’re probably still in high school. How can you even have any medical skills? You’re probably a con artist…"

"Excuse me, madam. The young miss asked me to invite the Divine Doctor in," a maid interrupted, stopping the woman mid-rant.

He was already overwhelmingly powerful despite his young age. Even with their lucky encounters, they couldn’t compare to him."You guys should go ahead. There’s not much time left. After completely receiving the inheritance, you might be ejected. I’ll be going first. I have other things to handle," he said before his figure blurred and vanished.*********Gia waited patiently, but doubt slowly crept in. Weren’t they supposed to be the ones taking him, not the other way around?Samuel injected more Aether qi into the sword."What energy is this? I’ve never seen anything so pure and powerful," Gilbert said in admiration. It was a pity it wasn’t a type of energy he could absorb permanently. Gia stood up and leapt into the air, then walked across it as if it were solid ground. In the next moment, she appeared closer to the scene, but this time kept her distance from Samuel."How did you become this powerful?" she muttered, her voice low and strained."What? You think I should stop growing stronger and wait for you to catch me and beat me up?" he replied with a smirk.Gia fell silent. At this rate, she could not afford to offend him."Fine." She lowered her head, her shoulders dipping."If you will, sir, can you please listen to me and understand our plight?" she pleaded, her fingers tightening at her sides."Alright. Go ahead." After a brief pause, Samuel gave a small nod. He was also curious why they wanted the moon shade seed so badly.Gia nodded gratefully and began explaining. They were from River Aetheris, a vast river in the western region. They had originally been subordinates of one of the most powerful mermaid kingdoms dwelling in the only ocean in this world.Bu

"I wonder what kind of difficulties Sheena would meet over there." Samuel frowned as he hurried along the road she had taken. He noticed the walls were not made of rock like the path leading to the Soulrender. Instead, they were constructed from a kind of special stone. He reached out and touched them. They were cold to the touch."This is grand, I must say. This Demon Queen really prepared the path to her inheritance in a grand way. With all these shenanigans, I hope the trial won't be too difficult," he thought as he continued forward. The road seemed to stretch endlessly. He pushed his speed to the maximum, and a few minutes later, he arrived in a large hall. There was nothing particularly strange about it at first glance, except for its extravagance. The walls were adorned with intricate carvings made from special stones, along with strange symbols etched deeply into the surface. He looked ahead and saw Sheena standing before a massive wall covered in symbols he couldn't make out

The moment Kelvin closed the distance, Samuel’s body exploded into motion. He shot forward, slipping past the incoming grab with a sharp pivot, his movements precise and controlled. His elbow lashed out like a coiled spring releasing, backed by a surge of deep, violent energy that rippled through the air.The strike landed.Samuel was knocked sideways, his vision spinning as the force rattled his skull.Kelvin strode forward, a confident smile spreading across his face.“Do you still think you can keep up?
