It took Samuel a long time to finally accept the reality that he had reincarnated into another body with the same name as his in this strange world.

After reincarnating, he inherited all the memories of his predecessor, from birth up to the moment he was beaten to death.

The original body’s life was pitiful. He was born into a powerful family, and his father, the family head, was wealthy and influential. But his father died mysteriously in a car accident, and everything went downhill after that.

After their father’s death, the original owner and his older sister were treated like trash by the rest of the family. It got so bad that they eventually dragged him out of the family house, calling him useless—a good-for-nothing who only knew how to play games all day.

As for his sister, she was a business genius, so the family didn’t chase her away. She also chose not to leave because she wanted to take care of her brother. Every week, she would send him allowances. But a month ago, she suddenly stopped sending anything. The original owner assumed she had abandoned him too.

The reason he was beaten to death was actually ridiculous. He had boldly confessed his feelings to the new transfer student at school. The girl was stunning, considered a goddess by everyone. But instead of being flattered, she became angry. Even though he was handsome, his reputation as a lazy good-for-nothing made her look down on him.

She rejected him publicly and insulted him, humiliating him in front of everyone. But that wasn’t the end of it. One of the popular boys at school, who came from a wealthy family and admired the “goddess,” gathered a few friends and ambushed him in the alley he usually passed through.

That was how he ended up beaten to death. Ironically, they didn’t even know he had died. Their intention was just to teach him a lesson, they never expected him to be so weak that their beating would kill him and that his body would be taken over by another soul.

Samuel couldn’t help but marvel at their terrible luck. The woman they both liked indirectly caused their death. Though in his case, she wasn’t the direct cause.

There were still many things he didn’t understand about his predecessor, but that could wait. Right now, he had a mission. While going through the original owner’s memories, a sudden voice echoed in his mind—it came from the wizened old man who had orchestrated his reincarnation.

“Gather twenty energy stones within seven days to replenish the Krysalite energy. A huge amount was consumed to reincarnate you. If you fail to gather them in time, you’ll die.”

That was all the old man said before his voice disappeared. No matter how many times Samuel tried to contact him afterward, there was no response.

Luckily, even though his body was covered in bruises, he could still move.

“I wonder how I ended up back in my house…” After skimming through his new memories, he had a few guesses.

“Alright… first, I need to figure out how to get those energy stones. Most of the things I learned in the system’s crystal space are applicable to this world. Let me see which of my skills can help me earn money and buy them faster.” He thought as he moved to the table and opened the laptop.

He started typing and searching.

Indeed, energy stones existed in this world, but here they were considered rare precious stones with no known use. People collected them purely for luxury, and they were extremely expensive.

“Strange… why would people pay so much for useless stones? Very strange,” he thought.

“First, I need to heal completely,” he muttered, glancing down at his battered body. He couldn’t remain like this forever.

“If I cultivate now and manage a breakthrough, I might heal faster,” he thought seriously. In the crystal space, he had already cultivated to a very high realm, but it seemed his cultivation hadn’t transferred over.

Now, he would have to start from scratch. Fortunately, with his knowledge, the early stages wouldn’t be too difficult.

He was deep in thought when a noise outside his room drew his attention. Opening the door, he saw a beautiful girl dressed in red and black. Her short pixie-cut hair gave her a unique charm.

She carried several items in her hands and froze upon seeing him standing there.

“You… why are you moving around already?” she scolded immediately.

“You’re the one who brought me back, right?” Samuel smiled knowingly. He felt unexpectedly happy and excited upon seeing her. But were these truly his feelings, or the lingering emotions of the original owner?

“Did he actually die and his soul leave completely, or did our souls merge?” he wondered silently.

The girl’s name was Lena, a friend the original owner had made after moving here. She lived upstairs in the same building and was an incredibly kind person. During his hard times, she had often given him food and even some money to get by.

Due to his sister’s recent financial struggles, the allowances she sent weren’t as much as before. And because the original Samuel had been reckless and irresponsible, he never saved any of it. Worse, he had developed a gambling habit, and most of his money had been wasted that way.

It was a blessing that his sister paid his school fees directly, or he would have already dropped out.

“Go back and rest, Sam. Don’t force yourself, you might open new wounds,” Lena said as she set the items down and helped him back to his bed.

“Don’t worry, Lena. I’m alright… and thank you for everything,” he said sincerely. The original owner had never once thanked her despite her kindness, but Samuel genuinely meant it.

Lena stared at him in surprise.

“Wow… strange to hear you say something like that.” She laughed softly before her expression grew serious.

“Who did you offend this time? You’re lucky I passed through that alley and found you lying there. I had to call for help, and some passersby assisted me in bringing you to a nearby pharmacist. Thankfully, it’s just bruises and nothing serious.”

So he was right, Lena was the one who saved him. Aside from his sister, she was the only person who had genuinely cared about him.

After giving him a long lecture, she handed him the food she brought and prepared to leave.

“Wait,” he called out. “Can you help me get some items? I’ll pay you back once I recover and find a job.”

His bank account was empty, and he barely had anything left.

“You? Find a job?” Lena chuckled, clearly not taking him seriously.

“Just give me the list. You don’t need to pay me back,” she said.

He quickly wrote down the names of several herbs and cheap materials. Since he wasn't very sure about her financial situation, he intentionally avoided costly items. He only needed enough to reach the first stage of body cultivation, after all. The herbs would help open his pores, speeding up cultivation, and some contained potent energy that he could absorb.

Lena studied the list suspiciously. “How do you even know about these herbs?”

“An old man told me about them,” he lied smoothly.

“These herbs are potent. They could harm your body if you’re not careful,” she warned.

“Don’t worry. I’m not planning to consume them directly.”

It took him a long time to convince her, but she eventually agreed.

“She knows about these herbs… interesting. Who exactly is she? I doubt she’s an ordinary girl,” Samuel thought, frowning slightly. He could also sense a faint, strange aura around her.

Tianyi sat in front of the large television screen, watching quietly as the others played behind him.Samuel didn’t have anything planned for Tianyi and Cat for now, so they were mostly relaxed. Still, he intended to send them to Panya before heading to the treasure ground. Alternatively, he could keep them here and open a large supplement and drug store.Soon, Albert would finish building some of the company branches so they could be put to work immediately. After winning the tournament, he would obtain a far more powerful status. On top of that, his base was under the Panya government, meaning his own country could not control him, and neither could Panya due to their contract.“I wonder how Sui Mo

The two ladies stepped onto the stage.“Damn, two vicious ladies. I wonder who’s going to win?” Benjamin said, watching with interest.“Sui Mo, of course. Who else?” Heng Mei replied matter-of-factly. Samuel silently agreed.“Come on, is it because she’s from your country? That’s understandable. Everyone wants one of their own to win.” Benjamin nodded as he spoke.“He’s right, Benjamin. Sui Mo is going to win,” Samuel said calmly.Benjamin nodded and did not argue again. Samuel’s words were always more reliable. The fight began. Rubi immediately seized the upper hand, pressing forward with fierce, relentless attacks. Sui Mo, however, did not seem to care. Samuel and the rest did not go to the arena for the next two days. The upcoming fights were reserved for those who had not completed the third day and for those who had failed. However, today they decided to go anyway, even though none of them had any matches scheduled. The reason was simple. Benjamin was about to have his final qualification match. If he won, he would advance to the next stage of the competition.Samuel and Amelia chose to attend and cheer for him. Heng Mei also joined them, as he was not occupied with anything important at the moment. In the arena. The number of people present today had increased significantly compared to the previous two days.
