“Going as low as stalking now!"

"What do you want from me, you life-draining leech? My life? My company?

Do you want my firm or intend to flaunt your achievement here before anyone!" Charlotte lets out her frustration.

"Are you Miss Sinclair?" Hudderson needed clarification. For this purpose, there could not be a mistake.

"For someone who claims to know nothing about my status. You sure have a lot of information!" Spite filled her voice.

Memories from that night flashed before Hudderson. The girl that night had grown into a beautiful young lady, running away from being sold to an old man just for the fun of it.

"I'm not here for any of those reasons you mentioned earlier. Rather I'm here to take responsibility for what I did. I'm not an irresponsible man after all!"

Charlotte paused. Her face flashed multiple emotions just within a few seconds.

From anger, disgust, and then amusement.

"You want to take responsibility!" She resonated once again, a hint of sarcasm in her voice.

"What tacky scheme is that little mind of yours coming up with again?"

"How do you intend to take responsibility for what you have done? You look like you're barely fed properly every day.

Even with my fall, you still don't even come close to lacing my shoe. So humour me, young mister. What do you think that you can do that would soften my heart towards what you have done? Marry me?" Her brows were slightly raised as she inquired, a mocking smile tugging her lips.

"My thoughts exactly. Since I took away your virginity. It's only responsible for me to marry you!" He noted, with a hint of shame.

Charlotte's face turned pale. Her voice was lost and her jaw slacked in disbelief.

She never thought that Hudderson would be greedy enough to make such a silly request.

For once, she had dared to think that he was different. From every other man that wanted nothing but her body.

But they were all the same. Scum.

"Marry me!" She laughed without a sense of humour in her voice.

"You who isn't even worth lacing my shoes proposing to marry me? When in the world did this get-rich-quick shame come out and I wasn't even aware of it!" She chuckled, dry and stabbing.

"If you want money... Of Fame, you could try somewhere else. I would rather marry a pig than lie in the same bed with you!" She scoffed and turned around to leave.

She came here to find solace, before she was forced into the arms of someone that she didn't love. A chronic womanizer and a sinister liar.

"At least it would free you from having to get married to Jackson."

Charlotte's feet immediately drew a pause. Those words struck a chord.

While everyone thought that she was madly in love with Jackson, only a few people knew that she didn't want anything to do with the young man.

Yet, this young man who seemed devoid of a future seemed to know about it. And he said it with so much confidence.

"Is this another scheme?" She thought, heart pulsing as she turned around with a frown.

"Why do you think for once that I would leave Jackson on our wedding day and elope with you?

What sort of stupid fantasy have you been wetting yourself to bed with?" Her voice crackled through the air.

"He is rich, promising, powerful... Sort of handsome... Everyone wants to associate with him. What do you have?" Those words, were like daggers drawn right on the face of Hudderson.

He remained, however, rather emotionless.

"I have a proposal. That could free you of the obligation of being a husband and getting married to Jack.

It would be a contract marriage. No love, no strings attached. Just a public figurehead. You don't need to perform the duties of a wife and at the same time, you would not be able to get married to Jackson because you're legally married to someone else already."

It sounded too perfect. For a few moments, she wanted to believe those words. But just a single glance at Hudderson was enough to bring her back to her senses.

"Why do you think that I would believe anything from you? The stranger who took advantage of me?"

Why should I believe that you really want nothing from this other than to take responsibility?" She emphasized the last part of the statement.

"Because a contract would be drawn. I don't want your money. And for anything else, don't you think going up against someone like Jackson and your family could be too much of a risk already?"

Charlotte's heart wavered. He was right.

She had tried to get herself around making someone get married to her multiple times.

But apart from everyone refusing and only wanting her body because of the public announcement that she now belongs to Jackson, the marriage registry had blacklisted her name.

It was all Jackson. He wanted Charlotte so much for a property and paid off every registry in town not to even attend to her complaints for a second.

It was more like she had signed a contract with the devil.

She sighed deeply, her heart pounding against her chest.

"And even if I agree to get married to you, how do you think you can get us out of here with all the guards to a registry to get registered as a couple?" Charlotte inquired. She left out the rest of the details.

"What would be the need for leaving when we could finish the process here just with a few calls?" Hudderson simply returned with so much calm.

Charlotte scoffed. The human who stood right before her seemed too good to be true.

"Cocky and Useless. Isn't that too much of a terrible combination?" She raised a brow once again at the question.

With his uneasiness still rising at the sight of Hudderson who didn't look like he was there to joke, Harry remained the way he was, unable to utter even a word. “I asked a question, Uncle! Where is Aunt Sabrina?” Hudderson asked, moving closer to Harry, who curled up on the couch, leaning backward in nervousness. “Calm down, Hudderson! She should be around somewhere! Maybe I should go fetch her for you.” Harry said with a shaky tone, trying to find a means to escape. Hudderson stood still, glaring at the middle-aged man whose heartbeat was becoming more aggressive than it was a moment earlier. Apparently, shame was not the only feeling that had engulfed him at that moment. He was also scared to his teeth and struggled with the guilt of his actions. He knew he had done a lot to offend Hudderson and was wary of the day of reckoning coming faster than he had envisaged. “Allow me to go get her for you, Hudderson! I will go tell her that you are here to see

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND TWENTY-SEVEN“My name is Elliot Cameron, and I will be your host for today. Today, we have amazing deals for you! So many choices just to satisfy you. We took note of all the reviews and demands you made on the secret website, and we decided to adjust the amount of goods to be purchased.” Elliot was elated, as he spoke to his audience, moving from one corner to the other, displaying his brief stature. There were two bodyguards in similar white suits just like the man at the door, and they looked as though they were robots, standing at the two ends of the large curtain behind the stage. “We know you will be wondering why we had to push the time for the auction closer. Well, you will get to find out really soon. We couldn't wait to show you the juicy deals we have for you tonight! I am sure you are gonna love them!” There was a little murmuring from the people seated at the various tables in the hall, as gestures and utterances of expectations filled the air. “I

CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY-SIX For a while Hudderson was silent, but the old man was eager to hear what he was going to say. The look on his face showed mixed feelings, but the stillness in the living room was making everyone tense. “I was hoping to hear someday that there could be a chance that Hela was still alive. This means that there is hope, Lancel.” Hudderson forced a smile on his face even though the revelation from the old man could mean one of two things. It was either that his sister had been killed by the men who took her or that she was held captive for some reason. He only hoped for the latter. However, since there was only one hard way of finding out, Hudderson pocketed the piece of paper after folding it carefully before he turned to face Lancel who was drenched in perspiration of guilt and remorse. “I wish I had told you earlier, Master Hudderson. I have no excuse for keeping such information from you. Please forgive my cowardice, there

CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FIVE Leonard was lost between getting down on his knees and remaining the way he was. It was obvious that he had lost the bet, but he never thought that he was going to lose his dignity as well. If only he had minded his business. Hudderson was in a haste to move on to another activity, but Leonard had to suffer for his utterances, he had to make sure he dealt with him. “Get on your knees, Leo! Kiss my feet!” Hudderson pointed at his shiny shoes, causing Leonard to look around him as though he wasn’t aware that everyone had their eyes on him. He couldn’t handle the fact that angry eyes were glaring at him, and to give them a reason to consider taking it easy on him for his misleading prediction, he decided to do what he was asked to do, leaving with no other option. “Good. Now kiss my feet.” Hudderson said as soon as Leonard had gone down on his knees, taking a few seconds before he placed the second knee on the marble tile. “Hurry up, Leo. I have

CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FOUR Most of the people in the room knew who Hudderson was, and seeing that he had the ring on his finger, they knew he had regained power as one of the members of the Triple-Legend family, the noblest and most powerful group not only in Moscow but also in Russia and beyond. Tiara had a similar ring on her finger, but hers had the head of an eagle, the symbol of the Gusev family. She proudly showcased it to everyone who cared to look, even though they had seen it thousands of times. Leonard saw that things were no longer moving the way he expected, but he was relentless and attempted to turn things back in his favor. “Hudderson? I heard that the Zordan company is no longer as massive as it used to be. News everywhere says that your family has lost quite a ton of money. You are going bankrupt.” There was a loud murmuring following the words that Leonard spoke. He nodded in satisfaction when he realized that everyone was still paying attention. “Hudd

  • Chapter 223

CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY-THREE Tiara’s family owned the second-biggest company after the Zordans. The Gusev company was a capital market operator, dealing mainly with the distribution of stock exchange. They had been their in Moscow a few years after the Zordans, and their predominance in the stock was second to none. Some of the people who came to trade with them were mostly foreigners, and it seemed as though they had taken over the stock market entirely, especially since Tiara took over from her father after years of studying abroad. Hudderson went into the Gusev company building together with Tiara while her bodyguards followed behind them, making sure that the distance between them was small. Tiara couldn't stop staring at Hudderson while they strode along the hallway, and when he realized that she wasn’t going to stop gawking at him, paying no mind on the way, he decided to speak up at once. “Do you mind? You are actually making this really awkward for me.” Hudderson
