Zach’s eyes suddenly snapped open as his cell phone vibrated twice in his hand, startling him slightly.

The device was oddly shaped, with a smooth and dark surface, its design so archaic that it is more suited to a museum than a modern pocket.

Without the slightest tinge of hesitation, Zach glanced down at the screen, and… he paused

Two encrypted messages were currently flashing there, and who could send encrypted messages to him at such a time?

Only his subordinates.

Calmly, quietly, and expressionlessly, Zach pressed his thumb against the screen. In the next second, a greenish light spread beneath his fingerprint, a scanning interface blooming to life.

If anyone else had seen it, they would have been left utterly stunned, their jaws dropping to the ground.

The display looked like something straight out of a high-budget sci-fi movie or something belonging to another world entirely

But Zach knew better.

This wasn’t a science fiction cell phone, and neither does it come from another world.

It was a device accessible only to the top leaders of the world’s most secretive organizations.

A moment later, the scan was completed, and immediately, a notification popped up.

[Identity confirmed.]

Then the screen shifted, and in the very next second, the first encrypted message quietly opened before his eyes.

[Supreme Overlord,] it read.

[We have, due to our incapability as failures, failed to discover the true masterminds behind the night’s incident. However, several prime suspects and most of those involved have been identified. We shall accept whatever punishment you deem appropriate for our failure.]

For a brief moment after reading the message, Zach did not react.

Instead, he just stared at the screen, his expression frozen and his gaze vacant as though his mind had momentarily disconnected from reality.

Anyone watching might have thought he had gone numb… paralyzed by bad news.

But then…

“Failed… to identify them?” Zach muttered under his breath, his voice quiet and almost soft.

But the cold menace packed into those few words was enough to make the air feel heavier.

“Accept your punishment?” he repeated, a faint, humorless scoff escaping him.

Then the corners of his lips twitched… not into a smile, but into something far more dangerous.

Zach’s chest tightened as fury surged within him like a volcano about to erupt. Then his grip on the phone tightened unconsciously, the reinforced casing groaning faintly under the pressure of his fingers.

Finally… his murderous intent exploded, unleashing an overwhelming, invisible force that directly swept through the entire aircraft.

In that very instant, the plane shuddered violently, appearing as though it had slammed into an unseen wall of turbulence, and…

“Arghhhhh!!!!”

The passengers screamed out in terror, the previously jubilant atmosphere… filled with laughter and excited chatter about Country Aran’s recent victory, collapsed into sheer chaos.

Overhead compartments shook, seats trembled, and drinks toppled as panic swept through the cabin.

“What the hell is happening?!”

“Is the plane breaking apart?!”

“Are we being attacked by a demon?!”

Some passengers clutched their armrests in terror while others cried openly, tears streaming down their faces as prayers spilled from trembling lips.

A few even began to fumble for their phones, their hands shaking uncontrollably, desperate to send final messages to loved ones.

Up in the cockpit, the pilots were no better off.

Warning systems blared as they frantically checked every instrument, searching for the source of the sudden turbulence.

Yet no matter what they did, nothing explained the violent shaking… or the suffocating, pitch-dark pressure that seemed to fill the cabin

“Control, do you see anything on the radar?!” one pilot shouted, his voice strained, thick beads of sweat oozing out of his forehead.

“Nothing!” came the panicked reply. “There’s nothing there! What seems to be the problem?”

And this response… it only made things worse.

In the following second, the pilots’ fear spiraled out of control.

But then…

The turbulence stopped, the crushing pressure evaporating as though it had never existed, vanishing without any warning or explanation.

One second, everyone was bracing for death. But in the next… the plane was smoothly, calmly, and silently gliding through the sky.

For several long seconds after this, pin-drop silence filled the airplane, everyone looking around in shock, their minds struggling to comprehend what had just occurred.

Then…

“This… did that really happen?

“This… this… this is insane!”

“What just happened?!”

The cabin erupted into chaos once more, voices overlapping in confusion and hysteria.

But Zach…

He noticed none of it.

*****The following morning;Inside a modest room that looked more like a temporary shelter than a place meant for living, there was barely enough space to breathe comfortably.A narrow bed pressed against one of the walls, barely wide enough for a single person... or at most, two people pressed skin-to-skin.In the corner stood a slightly worn chair with uneven legs, one wrong move away from collapsing.A small bedside table sat empty beside the bed, coated in a week or so worth of dust. And finally, nearby, a standing fan rotated sluggishly, its joints dry and begging for oil, releasing an endless creeeak with each turn.At this moment, the room was shrouded in a silence so profound that it almost felt tangible... that even the faintest scrape of an ant on the carpet would have sounded deafening. The only thing breaking this silence right now was the slow, steady rhythm of calm breathing. But then…Craaack!
