The roar of the rain had grown quiet by the time Caleb stepped through the sliding glass doors into the main lobby of St. Jude’s VIP Medical Center. His polished leather shoes clicked against the spotless marble floor, the sharp sound echoing through the vast, quiet space. Behind him, two high-ranking security directors from First Capital Bank maintained a respectful five-pace distance, keeping their hands crossed before them.

The front desk area was entirely silent. The usual chaotic shuffle of night-shift staff, ringing phones, and low-toned intercom chatter had vanished. Sitting behind the tall glass counter, Brenda—the head receptionist who had sneered at Caleb only hours earlier— sat stiffly in her chair. Her eyes were fixed on the front doors, her hands trembling so violently that the pen she held rattled against the desk surface.

The moment Caleb crossed the threshold, Brenda bolted out of her chair as if shocked by an electric wire.

"M-Mr. Vance!" she stammered, bowing so low her forehead nearly touched the glass partition. "The... the head of surgery, Dr. Aris, is waiting for you on the top floor. The private executive suite has been fully prepared according to your instructions. No one... no one else has been allowed near the floor!"

Caleb didn't offer her a glance. He walked past the front desk without slowing his stride, taking the private express elevator straight to the penthouse level.

[Ding!] [Target: Brenda experienced lingering terror & extreme psychological submission!] [Converted to System Points: +800 Points!]

The elevator doors slid open with a soft, mechanical chime, revealing a carpeted, dimly lit hallway line with floor-to-ceiling glass paneling overlooking the sprawling lights of the city below. Standing outside the double doors of Suite 1001 was Dr. Aris himself, a white-haired man in a pristine lab coat who held a electronic clipboard tightly against his chest.

"Mr. Vance," Dr. Aris said, stepping forward with an anxious, deeply respectful nod. "I am pleased to inform you that your sister's emergency procedure was a complete success. The cardiac strain has been entirely stabilized. We transferred her to the private penthouse ward twenty minutes ago, and her vital signs are stronger than they have been in months."

Caleb’s chest tightened slightly, a sharp wave of relief cutting through the cold rage that had consumed him all evening. He took a slow, steady breath, forcing his posture to remain calm.

"Is she awake?" Caleb asked quietly.

"She woke up briefly after the anesthesia wore off," Dr. Aris replied, moving aside to unlock the heavy door. "She is resting now, but the nurse inside mentioned she was asking for you. We have assigned a dedicated four-person medical team to monitor her twenty-four hours a day. Absolutely nothing will be spared for her recovery."

Caleb nodded once. "Thank you, Doctor. Leave us."

"Of course, Mr. Vance." Dr. Aris bowed quickly and motioned for the surrounding staff to retreat down the hall, leaving the floor entirely clear.

Caleb turned the brass handle and stepped inside.

The penthouse suite looked more like a luxury five-star hotel room than a hospital ward. Soft, warm ambient lighting illuminated mahogany wall panels, thick velvet drapes, and a spacious sitting area furnished with leather armchairs. In the center of the room, surrounded by quiet, high-end monitoring equipment, lay a small hospital bed.

Mia Vance lay under a soft down blanket, her pale face framed by thin strands of dark hair. Although she looked frail, the grey, deathly tint that had haunted her cheeks for the past six months was gone, replaced by a faint, healthy color.

As the door clicked shut, Mia’s long eyelashes fluttered open. She blinked against the warm light, turning her head slowly toward the doorway.

"Caleb...?" her voice was a faint, raspy whisper.

Caleb’s cold demeanor instantly melted away. He crossed the room in three long strides, pulling a leather chair close to the bed and taking her small, cool hand into his own.

"I'm here, Mia," Caleb said softly, his voice dropping into a gentle, protective tone he hadn't used all day. "I'm right here. How are you feeling?"

Mia stared up at him, her dark eyes filling with confusion as she looked from his face down to the hand-tailored, dark charcoal suit he was wearing. She reached out with trembling fingers, lightly touching the expensive lapel of his jacket.

"Caleb... where are we?" she asked, her voice cracking slightly with worry. "This... this isn't the public ward. The doctors... they said I had the surgery. But the bill was $50,000. Where did you get this money? Did you... did you take out another dangerous loan? Did Chloe’s family—"

"Don't worry about Chloe, and don't worry about her family," Caleb interrupted gently, squeezing her fingers. "You don't ever have to hear their names again. Everything is handled, Mia. The surgery is paid for. The hospital is paid for. You are completely safe."

Mia’s eyes welled with tears. "But... but how? Yesterday you said you barely had enough for my medication..."

Caleb smiled faintly, pulling the blanket up higher around her shoulders. "Let's just say a long-overdue investment finally paid out. You don't need to stress about money, bills, or anything else ever again. Your only job right now is to rest and get better."

Mia looked into his eyes, searching his face. She could tell there were things he wasn't saying, but the absolute certainty and strength in his voice gave her a sense of peace she hadn't felt since their parents passed away.

"Okay..." she whispered softly, her eyelids growing heavy under the lingering effects of the sedatives. "I trust you, Caleb."

Within minutes, her breathing evened out into a deep, peaceful sleep. Caleb sat silently beside her bed for a long time, holding her hand until he was certain she was completely resting.

At 1:30 AM, Caleb stepped out onto the private balcony attached to the penthouse suite. The cool night air blew against his face as he looked down at the city skyline stretching out into the darkness.

He pulled out his phone, tapping the screen to bring up his bank application.

[Current Account Balance: $212,950,000.00 USD] [Current System Points: 15,300 Points]

In less than twelve hours, he had gone from a penniless, humiliated delivery driver on the verge of losing his sister to a man controlling hundreds of millions in liquid cash and holding the fate of several corporate empires in his hands. But he knew this was only the beginning.

The Cole family and Chloe’s father, Arthur Vance, were only small fishes in a much larger pond. The cabal that had engineered the collapse of his biological father's original conglomerate years ago was still operating in the shadows of the city's financial district.

Suddenly, his phone screen lit up, vibrating violently in his grip.

It was an incoming call from an unknown, encrypted local number.

Caleb pressed the answer button and brought the phone to his ear, remaining completely silent.

"Caleb..."

Chloe’s voice came through the speaker, hysterical, sharp, and choked with furious tears.

"Caleb, you monster! What did you do to Julian?! His father’s company has been stripped of its operating license, the police are raiding their family estate right now, and Julian is sitting in the emergency room with a shattered wrist!"

Caleb listened to her screaming without a single change in his expression. "Is that all, Chloe?"

"You think you're so powerful now?!" Chloe shrieked, her tone turning venomous and desperate. "You think buying off a few bank debts makes you an untouchable king?! My father just contacted the chairman of the Grand Alliance Capital Group! They hold over two billion dollars in regional assets! Tomorrow morning at the city commercial summit, they are going to blackball your name across every financial institution in the state! You will be ruined by noon!"

Caleb leaned against the marble railing of the balcony, a slow, icy smile spreading across his face.

"Tell your father and the Grand Alliance to prepare their entire balance sheet," Caleb said quietly, his voice dropping into a deadly whisper. "Because tomorrow morning, I’m buying their entire group."

Before Chloe could scream another word, Caleb ended the call and tossed the phone onto the glass table behind him.

[Ding!] [High-Level Threat Detected: Grand Alliance Capital Group!] [Main Quest Triggered: 'Corporate Obliteration'!] [Task: Attend the City Commercial Summit & Force the Grand Alliance into Total Bankruptcy!] [Reward: 100,000 System Points & Unlocks Tier-2 Executive System Ownership!]

Caleb looked out over the glowing city lights, his eyes cold and dark as the night sky. The real war was about to begin.
