The morning rain had cleared completely by dawn, leaving the glass skyscrapers of the central financial district glinting brightly under a crisp, pale blue sky. At the heart of the capital’s commercial sector stood the Grand Imperial Hotel, a seventy-story architectural landmark constructed from reinforced gold-tinted glass and polished white granite.

Today, the hotel was host to the Annual City Commercial Summit—the premier gathering of regional billionaires, industrial magnates, corporate raiders, and venture capitalists. Outside the grand entrance, dozens of international media crews set up broadcast cameras behind velvet ropes, while a continuous line of sleek, high-end Maybachs, Bentleys, and custom armored limousines dropped off heavily guarded executives in tailored Italian suits.

Inside the grand ballroom on the third floor, massive crystal chandeliers cast a brilliant, warm light over sparkling marble floors and white-clothed tables laden with vintage champagne and fine caviar. Over two hundred high-society figures mingled in small circles, their low laughter and polite chatter filling the room.

In the center of the VIP section, surrounded by an eager ring of financial journalists and bowing corporate directors, sat Richard Vance—Chloe’s father and the former CEO of Vance Logistics—alongside Chairman Victor Sterling of the Grand Alliance Capital Group.

Victor Sterling, a ruthless sixties-something tycoon with slicked-back silver hair and a multi-carat diamond signet ring on his right hand, tapped his expensive cigar against a crystal tray, a cold, supreme smirk resting on his face. Beside him, Chloe Vance stood in an emerald designer gown, though the heavy layer of expensive concealer on her face barely hid the dark circles and frantic exhaustion underneath.

"Don't worry, Chloe," Victor Sterling said, his deep, resonant voice carrying an effortless authority that silenced the surrounding executives instantly. "Your father informed me of this insolent boy’s antics yesterday. Buying out a small debt portfolio at First Capital Bank is nothing more than child’s play. Today, the Grand Alliance is finalizing our merger with three major offshore hedge funds, officially raising our total asset valuation past three billion dollars. When I announce his name on the blacklisting registry during my keynote address in twenty minutes, no bank, law firm, or stock exchange in this country will dare process a single dollar for Caleb Vance."

"Thank you, Chairman Victor," Chloe said, a flash of bitter triumph returning to her voice. She adjusted the diamond necklace around her throat, her chest heaving with lingering hatred. "He thought getting a little lucky with an offshore payout meant he could stomp on my family. I want to see him crawling back in rags by tonight, begging me to take him back!"

"He won't even make it past the security lobby downstairs, my dear," Richard Vance scoffed, taking a slow sip from a crystal glass of aged scotch. "I personally ensured his name and picture were placed on the venue's blacklisted trespasser list. The armed guards at the main entrance have orders to break his legs if he so much as steps onto the property."

BOOM!

The heavy, ten-foot mahogany double doors at the main entrance of the grand ballroom suddenly burst open, swinging inward so violently that the brass handles smashed deep into the drywall behind them.

The entire ballroom fell dead silent. Over two hundred high-society guests, journalists, and corporate board members froze in place, turning in sheer shock toward the shattered entrance.

Standing squarely in the doorway was Caleb Vance.

He was clad in an obsidian-black, custom double-breasted suit woven with subtle metallic thread, paired with a midnight-blue silk tie and a dark luxury timepiece that caught the light of the crystal chandeliers. His dark hair was styled sharp, and his face was a wall of absolute, impenetrable frost.

Flanking him on either side were six stone-faced men in tailored tactical suits—executive protection personnel from First Capital Bank’s ultra-VIP division. Walking half a step behind Caleb was Marcus Sterling, the regional director of First Capital, carrying a sleek leather briefcase.

[Ding!] [Extreme Shock & Bewilderment Detected from 210 Targets!] [Converted to System Points: +8,500 Points!]

Chloe’s champagne flute slipped from her numb fingers, shattering against the marble floor, sparkling wine splashing across her emerald dress and designer heels. "C-Caleb?!"

Richard Vance’s face flushed a violent shade of crimson as he pointed a trembling finger toward the entrance, his voice cracking into a panicked shriek. "Security! Where is security?! How did this dog get past the front gates?!"

Four heavy-set hotel security guards rushed forward with tethers and batons raised. Before they could take three steps, Caleb’s six tactical bodyguards stepped in front, pulling open their coats to display high-level diplomatic security clearance badges and federal credentials. The venue guards gasped, instantly lowering their batons and stepping back with pale, sweat-beaded faces.

Caleb didn't pay the guards a second glance. His leather Oxfords clicked with measured, deadly precision against the marble floor as he strode down the center aisle toward the main VIP stage. The gathered billionaires instinctively parted ways, shrinking back under the suffocating, mountain-like pressure radiating from his presence.

Victor Sterling slowly stood up from his leather armchair, his eyes narrowing into cold, reptilian slits as he stared at the young man approaching his table.

"So, you're the trash my niece Chloe tossed away," Victor said, his tone dripping with condescending disdain as he puffed his cigar. "You've got nerve breaking into my summit, boy. But making a pathetic scene here won't save you. In five minutes, the regional banking board will officially sign off on the Grand Alliance’s three-billion-dollar valuation. You are a absolute zero compared to the financial powerhouse standing in front of you."

Caleb stopped ten feet from Victor’s table, resting his hands casually in his trouser pockets. He looked at Victor, then at Richard Vance, and finally at Chloe, his eyes as emotionless as frozen glass.

"Three billion dollars?" Caleb asked, his voice low, clear, and carrying a quiet, terrifying resonance that echoed off the high ceilings. "Is that all the Grand Alliance is worth?"

Victor burst into a loud, mocking laugh, stepping up the wooden stairs of the main stage and turning on the central podium microphone. His voice thundered over the ballroom speakers.

"Attention everyone!" Victor announced, smiling arrogantly at the crowd and the flashing news cameras. "This individual is Caleb Vance—a destitute fraud who has been attempting to intimidate local businesses through illegal loans! As Chairman of Grand Alliance Capital, I hereby declare that effective immediately, our entire group, along with our twenty-two subsidiary banks, will completely freeze, blackball, and prosecute any entity that dares conduct business with him!"

The crowd gasped, financial journalists frantically snapping photos and typing breaking-news headlines on their laptops. Chloe stood right behind Victor on the stage, a cruel, vicious sneer spreading across her face as she glared down at Caleb.

"Look at you, Caleb!" Chloe shouted into the room, her voice trembling with sadistic excitement. "You're done! You hear me?! You're completely ruined!"

Caleb didn't flinch. He didn't even raise an eyebrow. He simply turned his head slightly toward Marcus Sterling.

"Marcus," Caleb said softly. "Execute the order."

"Yes, Mr. Vance," Marcus replied crisply.

Marcus opened his leather briefcase, pulled out a gold-encrypted satellite tablet, and tapped a single red command icon on the screen.

At that exact second, every phone, tablet, and broadcast monitor inside the grand ballroom chimed simultaneously with high-priority financial distress alerts.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

The sharp, synchronized alarm tones filled the room like a swarm of angry hornets. Victor Sterling frowned, pulling his personal phone from his suit pocket. The screen was flashing with frantic, screaming red text from his chief financial officer:

URGENT: MASSIVE HOSTILE SHORT-SELL ATTACK IN PROGRESS! 500 MILLION SHARES OF GRAND ALLIANCE CAPITAL PURCHASED AND LIQUIDATED IN OVERSEAS MARKETS WITHIN 10 SECONDS! STOCK PRICE DOWN 60% AND HALTED!

"What... what is this nonsense?!" Victor gasped, his face draining of all color as his hands began to shake. "A system glitch?! Call the stock exchange immediately! Fix it!"

Before his assistant could move, another alarm popped up on every screen, followed instantly by a live emergency broadcast taking over the main wall monitors of the ballroom:

BREAKING NEWS: VANCE GLOBAL ENTERPRISES HAS JUST EXECUTED A $3.5 BILLION CASH ACQUISITION OF ALL SENIOR DEBT AND LIABILITIES HELD BY GRAND ALLIANCE CAPITAL GROUP! GRAND ALLIANCE CAPITAL HAS BEEN DECLARED INSOLVENT AND CONVERTED TO 100% DIRECT EQUITY OF VANCE GLOBAL ENTERPRISES!

[Ding!] [Host spent $3,500,000,000.00 on Corporate Debt Acquisition!] [Applying 100x Cashback Multiplier...] [Received: $350,000,000,000.00 Cashback Credit!] [Current Account Balance: $350,212,950,000.00 USD!]

A suffocating, absolute silence fell over the entire grand ballroom. The journalists stopped typing; the corporate directors stood frozen with their mouths wide open; the champagne glasses held mid-air trembled in the hands of the elite guests.

Victor Sterling’s phone slipped from his completely numb fingers, shattering against the base of the podium. He clutched the edges of the wooden stand, his breath coming in ragged, terrified gasps as he stared at the television screen displaying the official regulatory filing stamped with Caleb Vance's name.

"Three... three point five billion... in liquid cash... in three seconds...?" Victor stammered, his eyes bulging with sheer, unadulterated horror as he looked down at Caleb. "Impossible... That's impossible! Who... who the hell are you?!"

Caleb walked up the carpeted stairs of the stage, stopping directly in front of Victor. He reached out, gently pulled the diamond signet ring from Victor’s limp hand, and tossed it onto the floor where it rolled away into the silence.

"As of thirty seconds ago, I own your hedge funds, I own your subsidiary banks, and I own this hotel," Caleb whispered, his icy gaze sweeping over Victor, Richard Vance, and the deathly pale, trembling Chloe. "The Grand Alliance Capital Group is officially dissolved. Security, escort these bankrupt trespassers out of my building."

[Ding!] [Absolute Despair & Total Collapse Detected from Victor Sterling, Richard Vance, & Chloe Vance!] [Main Quest 'Corporate Obliteration' Completed!] [Received: +100,000 System Points!] [Unlocked: Tier-2 Executive System Ownership!]

Richard Vance clutched his chest, gasping for air as his knees buckled and he collapsed onto the carpet. Chloe stumbled back against the wall, hyperventilating as tears of pure terror ruined her makeup, her mind completely breaking under the realization of the absolute titan she had cast out into the rain just hours ago.

Caleb turned his back on them, stepping up to the central microphone as hundreds of news camera flashes exploded across the room.

"Effective immediately," Caleb declared, his voice echoing across the entire financial network, "Vance Global Enterprises assumes total control of the city's commercial sector."

Suddenly, a hidden secondary alert chimed deep within his mind—not from his banking application, but from the newly upgraded Tier-2 System interface:

[Ding!] [Global Threat Network Unlocked!] [Warning: The total destruction of Grand Alliance Capital has triggered the 'Shadow Serpent Syndicate' Supreme Council!] [Satellite Tracking Initiated: 12 Elite S-Rank Assassins have just landed at the City International Airport...]
