Chapter 0006

The loud sound of the alarm forced Aiden to wake up from his sleep. After he left Jessica's apartment the previous day, he immediately jumped on his bed when he arrived home and dozed off in a deep sleep because he was exhausted from all the stress he had experienced throughout that particular day.

When Aiden opened his eyes from his sleep, he slowly sat up on his bed and looked around his one-room studio he lived in which was nothing compared to Jessica's apartment. He had no choice but to manage this tight space he rented to manage his expenses, unlike Jessica who had more than enough to afford renting an entire apartment to herself.

However, Aiden had put the past behind him and was focused on the future. After all he was a billionaire but had to take things slowly to avoid suspicion.

"Open the status window" Aiden instructed the system.

Aiden scoffed as he viewed his status screen. He felt embarrassed by his pathetic stats and realized he was a loser."System, convert 300 gold coins to Stats points." He ordered when he recalled that it was possible to convert coins to Stats points to improve his physique.

"Add 5 Stats points to Strength, 5 Stats points to Agility, 5 Stats points to Intelligence, 6 Stats points to Charm, 4 Stats points to Sense and 5 Stats points to Luck."

Without much thought, Aiden distributed the Stats points evenly to each attribute. He instantly felt the rush of a sudden wave of energy flowing through his body. This made him significantly stronger and less tired than he was a minute ago.

"Wow, this is very effective." He casually muttered.

Aiden stood up from his bed and walked into the bathroom to take a shower and get ready for work. As he raised his head to look at the mirror while brushing his teeth, he suddenly gasped in shock as he stared at his own image in the mirror.

Aiden's face was much more handsome than it had been in the past. He hurriedly removed his shirt and was even more amazed.

Aiden has never been to the gym in the past nor had time for minor exercises. Therefore, he never had any muscle and as a result of lack of adequate nutrition, he also had a lean body shape.

However, Aiden was currently looking at a well-shaped figure with smooth skin and toned muscles. "Woah, even my packs are slightly visible now." He remarked in disbelief as he was truly baffled by the sight before him.

After admiring the details of his own body, Aiden took a shower and dressed for work. He put on his old suit and hurriedly rushed out of his apartment when he realized he had wasted too much time and would be late.

An hour later, Aiden briskly walked into the lobby of the Emerald corporation where he worked. He had a smile on his face because he was glad that he was still able to make it on time.

The receptionist greeted him with a pleasant smile. "Good morning Aiden."

"Huh!" Aiden was slightly taken aback before he responded to her greetings. "Good morning to you too." He nodded.

Aiden was confused because the receptionist had never responded to his greetings since the first day he began working for the company. Eventually, he figured it was a bother to continue greeting her without receiving any response so he stopped. However, it was a huge surprise to see that it was the same receptionist who greeted him first with a smile.

Aiden also observed that people looked at him with different expressions as he walked past them and it even became more obvious when he walked into the office space he shared with his department colleagues.

Aiden ignored their long stares as he hurriedly walked to his desk. A couple minutes later, the telephone line on his desk rang and he quickly answered the call.

"Hello," Aiden said.

"When did you arrive at work?" the voice on the call asked.

"I arrived five minutes ago, sir." Aiden responded sharply when he realized he was talking to the team leader.

"I want to see you in my office….Now." The team leader demanded and disconnected the call.

Aiden didn't waste any time. He immediately stood up from his desk and headed towards the team leader's office. When he arrived, he knocked twice before turning the knob to open the door and enter the office.

"Good morning, Mr. Mason. I am here as instructed." Aiden announced and suddenly moved his head sideways to avoid a paper ball flying towards him.

"You useless punk, if you are determined to go down then why do you want to drag me along with you to hell?" Mr. Mason yelled in rage.

"I apologize, but I don't understand what you are talking about, sir." Aiden remarked with a confused expression on his face.

"You really are dumb, aren't you?.....How could you punch Mr. Liam Wilson in the face?.......weren't you aware that he was the general manager of the Wilson Corps organization and our company is in the process of signing a huge business deal with them?" Mr. Mason ranted in anger.

"I didn't know and I caught him sleeping with my girlfriend." Aiden explained but it didn't matter to Mason who only cared about the company's situation.

"I don't care if he slept with your sister or not; in fact, you should be thankful that someone of such a high caliber took an interest in something that belonged to a lowly person like you in the first place. Your actions almost put me at risk of losing my job and cost the company a huge deal." Mason's voice trembled with annoyance.

Aiden's face reddened in rage but he held back his anger. "With all due respect, I was only trying to protect my integrity."

"Ha! Don't try to make me laugh because nobody gives a damn about your integrity. I must tell you that the higher ups are very displeased with your actions. Although you are very competent at your job, it saddens me to inform you that you have been fired." Mr. Mason bluntly revealed.

"What?" Aiden exclaimed.

"It was Mr. Liam Wilson's condition if there is to be any further negotiations between both companies," Mr. Mason explained.

Aiden was bewildered by the company's decision. He had put a lot of effort into this company but they didn't hesitate to remove him to satisfy there own interest.

"Isn't this a bit unfair, sir?" Aiden complained.

"What were you expecting, Aiden? Did you think Mr. Wilson would let this incident slip his mind? "You should blame your bad luck since you lack both money and power, please clear your desk and leave the premises in thirty minutes." Mr. Mason immediately dismissed Aiden.

Aiden turned around and walked out of the office feeling dissatisfied and relieved at the same time. When he returned to his desk, he only grabbed his bag before exiting the room.

Coincidentally, while Aiden waited for a bus, Liam parked his car in front of him. Aiden could also see Jessica in the car but he wasn't bothered and mind his own business.

"Interesting. Who would have thought I would see you again within 24 hours?" Liam said with a smirk as he walked towards Aiden.

Meanwhile, Aiden still ignored Liam who was obviously trying to taunt him. As for Liam, he was persistent in getting under Aiden's skin.

"I warned you that I would make you regret laying your hands on me. Jessica has told me how much you need this job so I will be manognimos and give you another opportunity if you beg on your knees." Liam suggested with a grin.

Aiden's eyebrows twitched. "It seems people's lives are a joke to you but I won't be your victim so I'm going to have to reject your offer." He replied.

"You pathetic bastard, I'm determined to make your life miserable for rudeness and you will return to beg." Liam declared angrily.

"I'll definitely come back but it will be you that will be begging." Aiden promised and stepped into the bus that arrived.

Aiden wondered what his next action would be. He was just fired from work and had a hundred billion dollars in his account without a clear idea of how to spend it.
