"I won't," Cassian replied, still with the same calmness.

"Don't be stubborn while I'm still being nice. I'll beat you to death if you don't hand over the house!"

Cassian laughed. "Did you just threaten to beat a soldier?"

Liam's face turned red at the taunt. He knew that Cassian went to the battlefield for three years. But he could not accept being humiliated like this.

Driven by anger, he clenched his fist and targeted Cassian's face for a punch. Before that could happen, Elara arrived quickly and delivered a powerful kick to his stomach.

Liam crashed into the table, causing it to split into two. A cry of agony escaped from his lips as he experienced intense pain in his abdomen and spine.

"W-Who are you?!" Stella panicked, seeing her son being kicked so effortlessly by a woman. She pointed a fruit knife at Elara. "I'll call the police! Get out of here!"

The fruit knife was certainly no threat to Elara. She had already dealt with various weapons. The police would not dare interfere if they found out she had fought in a conflict zone.

"You're the one who should leave, not me," Elara stated.

Liam coughed violently, drawing Stella's attention. She hurriedly helped her son to stand up.

"There's CCTV here. You can't get away with the crime you've committed!" Stella was not afraid of Elara when it came to her favorite son.

Elara pretended to look scared. "Oh, that's the end of my life! But wasn't it Liam who tried to hit Cassian first? I only took action to protect my friend."

Hearing Cassian's name mentioned, Stella realized Elara had come with Cassian. She initially thought that the strange woman had come for revenge.

Ever since he was a child, Liam had always caused trouble. Because his parents spoiled him, he became more and more outrageous as he grew older.

He was infamous for playing with women. This was not the first time a woman had barged into the house to beat him up.

Stella was happy that Elara did not have any problems with Liam. Thus, she had an excuse to criticize Cassian.

"Look what this crazy woman did to my son!" she shouted furiously at Cassian while hugging Liam, who grimaced in pain.

Cassian realized Elara did not limit her strength when kicking Liam so he would not defend himself. "My friend got carried away because Liam wanted to hit me. Please forgive her."

"I'll take care of the expenses for his treatment until he gets better," Elara remarked nonchalantly.

Liam scowled with resentment. Never before in his life had he endured such a beating. Elara's kick was excruciatingly painful. He feared his spine might be fractured.

"You think this problem can only be solved with that?" Liam snapped, but the anger disappeared from his face when he discovered that Elara was good-looking.

He did not notice her at first because she kicked him as soon as she entered. After recovering slightly, he just realized that the woman was so charming.

"I'll consider forgiving you if you spend one night with me," Liam's eyes wandered mischievously, tracing Elara's curves.

Elara raised one eyebrow. "Just one night, right? I'll make you unable to walk forever in one night!"

Liam and Stella shuddered in horror as Elara raised her fist. They immediately glared at Cassian.

"How could you bring such a rude woman into my house? This is premeditated murder!"

"That's right! You two must have a sinister plan."

Cassian rolled his eyes at the absurd accusation. Thinking of his relationship with Aveline's grandfather, he would not be too harsh on Liam and Stella.

"My friend already said she would be responsible for Liam's treatment. That's enough. And I give you three days to get out of this house!"

After saying that, he left the house with Elara. Liam and Stella did not dare to chase after them as they imagined the terrible things Elara could do.

"Mom, we have to do something. I can't take this humiliation!" Liam gritted his teeth.

Stella thought hard, and a brilliant idea came to her mind. She called Aveline, who was at work.

"Why are you calling me at this hour, Mom?" Aveline found it strange that Stella never called her during working hours.

"S-Sweetheart, help us!" Stella pretended to cry. "Cassian, your ex-husband, came to the house and beat us up because he wasn't happy about your divorce."

"How did that happen?"

"We were packing our things to move out of Cassian's house. But he suddenly went crazy and attacked us!"

Aveline frowned, doubting that Cassian would do that. But a moment later, Stella sent her a photo of Liam's bruised stomach.

"Your brother was injured trying to protect me. Cassian also brought a woman with him. He must be cheating on you! I can't accept our family being treated like this by him. You can't give this house to a person like him!"

"A woman, you say?"

"Yes, I don't know who she is. But she tortured me and Liam, too!"

Aveline's hands clenched into hard fists. "I'll call you back later."

Stella and Liam exchanged a satisfied look. Since she had successfully provoked Aveline, this house would not fall into Cassian's hands!

Meanwhile, Cassian received a call from Aveline while he was on his way somewhere. "Didn't you say not to contact each other again?" he sneered.

"And I also told you to stay out of trouble," Aveline replied coldly. "You already hurt my mother and brother. How could I stay silent?"

"Liam tried to hit me first. What followed was self-defense."

"But you hurt my mom too!"

"No, I didn't."

Aveline almost slammed her phone down in anger. Her mother was crying her eyes out on the phone, so how could she be lying?

"You truly are a jerk," Aveline spat. "My mom said you brought a woman. Who is she? How long have you been having an affair with her?"

Cassian was silent. He was tired of having to explain everything to Aveline. After all, his ex-wife would only believe what she believed. His explanation meant nothing to her.

"Why are you keeping quiet, huh? That means you're having an affair!"

"You wouldn't believe me even if I swore I didn't cheat on you, just like you did when I said I didn't hit your mom."

"Just admit that you—"

Aveline was taken aback as the call abruptly ended. She could not believe Cassian could do such a bad thing to her and her family.

"Are you okay?" Elara asked Cassian as his face turned grim after receiving the call.

"Just a little upset," Cassian smiled to hide his emotions. "I need to calm down because I have important things to do."

Bridge Point Corp's main office was their destination. It was a company that provided distributor and retail partnerships to entrepreneurs.

Cassian had controlled Bridge Point in secret all this time. He had once asked the company to help distribute Aveline's fashion business.

As a big company, Bridge Point's service was unquestionable. Aveline's business from nothing could become famous in just three years.

Bridge Point was the number one company in Lumithorn City. Many famous business people used its services because it had been proven to increase the success of their companies.

Cassian arrived at Bridge Point's headquarters with Elara. While waiting in the lobby, he made a call to Logan, the company's CEO.

"I've arrived and am waiting in the lobby."

Just then, a tall young man suddenly approached Elara. He extended his hand, showing off his Rocklex watch.

"Hello, Beautiful Lady. Your presence has truly captivated me. May I have the pleasure of getting to know you better? Perhaps, could I have your number?" he asked politely.

"That must be him! Runaway soldiers are more despicable than anything in this country," Liam responded furiously. Weltaria had a strong military compared to other countries. It was said that other countries feared Weltaria's military, so they tried to destroy the Great Commander during the war with the Narman Empire. They were worried about the Great Commander, who could control the entire military in just a short period. He was a living legend, not just in Weltaria but in other countries as well. Everyone despised soldiers who fled the battlefield for disrespecting the Great Commander. Society did not want to accept that kind of soldier. "I heard that soldiers who run away can't get jobs. They can ruin a company's reputation," Stella continued, increasingly convinced that Cassian's background ruined her daughter's business. Aveline's eyes turned red with anger. "I thought so, too. Even after the divorce, he's still a parasite to me!" Her hatred for Cassian grew. She had to expla
