Elijah could only smile coldly at the old man and say, "You seem more interested in stopping my treatment than actually treating her. Are you sure you are really a physician who values life?"

"You! Don’t spout nonsense here!" The old physician’s face turned red with anger. "If I hadn’t shown up, you would have gotten the young miss killed with your stupid needles!"

"A physician who doesn’t know about acupuncture needles… are you sure of what you claim?" Elijah’s voice was calm as he asked the old man, who was now struggling to keep his cool.

"Acupuncture needles? What nonsense is that? Do you think you can come here and spout nonsense? Hurry up and throw this man outside, and make sure to break his legs!" Old Physician Gerald commanded, a dangerous glint flashing in his eyes.

How dare this nobody question his status?

Slick Sal and the other men with him stepped forward hurriedly, but Mr. Jafari King waved his hand dismissively. "I was the one who invited him. There’s no reason to exte

"You should hurry up and beg Director Wilson before he gets to Ms. DiLaurentis," Vivian said quickly to Elijah, but he appeared less concerned and even waved dismissively."Don't bother about that matter. Now that I'm here, I won't be leaving.""Hmph! Stop pretending to be something. Even we don’t dare to offend Director Wilson, but a newbie like you is bold," one of the employees said coldly before returning to her desk.Another added, "Vivian, you should keep your distance so Director Wilson won’t associate you with him. Do you want to lose your job over a reckless apprentice?""I was there, Fiona. Ms. DiLaurentis herself wanted him to be part of the Health Department. The letter has her signature," Vivian tried to explain to her colleague, but they only snorted in disdain."You really love trouble, Vivian. What if Ms. DiLaurentis signed his employment? Take a look at him—she must have found him by the roadside on her way to work and decided to be generous. It's her first day as the

As Elijah took the staircase down with the elegant Vivian Cross, she said to him, "The last person recruited into the Health Department was Mr. Wilson's cousin, and that was two years ago. We haven't had an apprentice in years. You must be really close to Ms. DiLaurentis."He obviously couldn't tell her about his marriage to Serena.Elijah simply rubbed the bridge of his nose. "I was simply lucky.""That's a kind of luck that only comes once in a decade. Ms. DiLaurentis only hires the best of the best and never even accepts interns at this Medical Center," Vivian explained, and Elijah simply nodded in response. Now he understood why she disagreed with the old man about being the Director of the Department. That vile snake called Wilson Rosenberg. She made him Director instead. If only he had kept quiet last night, perhaps he would be Director this morning."You seem displeased with Ms. DiLaurentis’ decision for the new Director." This was the best way to stop this lady from questionin

Elijah glanced briefly at Wilson before hurrying after Serena, who was long gone into the building.By the time he caught up with her, she was already entering the VIP elevator bound for the last floor. The VIP elevator was meant only for the CEO of the Medical Center and went straight to her office floor.Other staffs in the building, including the cleaners, were prohibited from using the elevator. When the medical center employees at the lobby saw the strange man entering the elevator with their beautiful CEO, they couldn't believe their eyes. How could this not start gossip?"Did anyone see that?" The front desk clerk couldn't help but whisper to her partner."We all saw that. Did Ms. DiLaurentis just allow someone in her VIP elevator? Could he be an executive of her father?" The other woman was equally as surprised as her."Executive? Did you see how ordinary he looked? The executives are always in suits worth two years of my pay." One of the closest staff couldn’t help but chirp

The two guards froze at the sound of the voice, and even Elijah had to turn around because he didn’t recognize the male voice from anywhere before. The man in front of him was corporately dressed in a business suit and tie.He carried a briefcase in his right hand, and his chin was lifted in a prideful manner.“Mr. Wilson…” The two security guards hurried forward respectfully and even attempted to help him with the briefcase.“Why are you discussing during work time?” Wilson Rosenberg demanded coldly before glancing in Elijah’s direction. “And who is this?”The first security guard snickered and hurriedly asked, “Pardon me, Mr. Wilson, but do tell, did Ms. DiLaurentis open a recruitment in the Health Department?”The man frowned before responding in a scornful manner, “What nonsense are you saying? The Health Department is closed to recruitment, and now that I’m Director, I might not accept anybody.”The eyes of the men widened in surprise.“Mr. Wilson, you’re now the Director of the
