Later that night, Elijah came to stop in front of the giant gate of an estate and took in the environment before knocking loudly.

"Who is that uncultured person?" Came the voice of an angry man from behind the gate.

A man opened the small gate, and Elijah stepped in, but the face of the man turned horrid at the sight of him.

"Who are you? You must have missed your way here. Leave now before I break your legs" He threatened, clenching tight to the baton in his possession.

"I'm here to see Old Master DiLaurentis. He is expecting me"

This made the gateman laugh mockingly, "He's expecting you? You must be tired of living. Even notable persons are not fortunate enough to see the head of the DiLaurentis lately. Talk less of a riff-raff like you"

With the way Elijah dressed, he must have stumbled out of the streets for a place to sleep.

"Why don't you go ask him? I won't argue with you anymore" Elijah's tone was surprisingly calm as he spoke.

"I see you want to sneak into this place, if you don't leave now. I'll be ruthless." His expression had become dark, and he was prepared to attack Elijah.

"Uncle Phillip, what's going on there? Are you fighting with someone?" The sweet voice of a female came from the courtyard and her silhouette slowly appeared under the night's sky.

"It's just a madman, Young Miss. Don't worry, I'll handle him now" Phillip promised.

The young woman stepped out quickly and her frame was revealed under the bright light at the entrance.

She was dressed in a night gown that revealed much of her porcelain skin, and her blue eyes were captivating.

Elijah looked in her direction, wondering why that voice sounded familiar.

The moment their eyes locked onto each other, they both froze in shock on the spot.

Elijah, on his end, was confused, wondering if he had come to the wrong place.

He spent the entire day trying to find this place, how could he have made a terrible mistake?

Serena, on her end, gritted her teeth and wished she could cover herself in shame.

This was the man in her bed early that morning. How dare he show his face here?

Was he that greedy and was he here to blackmail her for more money?

"Isn't this the DiLaurentis Estate?" Elijah mumbled in confusion.

"He even found out about my family's name," Serena thought to herself, then commanded, "Philip, break his legs"

Phillip grinned in excitement and steadied himself.

Now that the young miss has asked, he wouldn't hesitate to beat this brazen man to death today.

Just when he raised the baton, a thunderous voice resonated from the DiLaurentis Estate.

"Stop!"

One that made the baton fall from his hand in fear.

Even Serena's body shook in fright when she looked.

The one who was making his way toward them with the support of two guards was the head of the DiLaurentis family, the Old Master DiLaurentis.

What could possibly make him appear today?

It's been two months since he locked himself in the study and no one dared to disturb him.

He would only send letters underneath the door which proved that he was still alive.

"Serena, are you trying to cripple our guest?" His voice was filled with anger.

Serena gasped in confusion.

What was her Grandfather talking about?

Before she could say anything, Elijah made quick steps forward and took and took the old man's hands respectfully.

"How have you been? Old Master DiLaurentis"

The old man laughed and surprisingly held Elijah's hands tightly, "Don't be too polite, Son-in-law. If you call me David, I won't be angry"

Serena felt her anger dissolve into confusion.

She didn't understand what was going on.

It was as if she were a cast member in a movie and the director gave her the wrong script.

Not only did her Grandfather refer to this riff-raff as Son-in-law, he even asked him to call him by his name David?

Anyone who dared to call the old master by his name in the DiLaurentis household was courting death.

Old Master DiLaurentis turned to the housekeeper and commanded, "Tell everyone I have an important announcement to make. No, no one is exempted"

He then took Elijah away, leaving Serena in awe.

"Did he say Son-in-law?" Phillip asked her.

"He definitely misspoke" She walked away with an uncertain expression.

Within minutes, the members of the DiLaurentis family in the Estate had gathered in the hall and awaited the old master DiLaurentis's presence.

He had been unavailable for two months, so whatever he had to say was definitely important.

When the old man arrived, he took his seat at the table and began to speak, ".... There's no reason for me to prolong this matter, so I'll go straight to why we are here. Twenty years ago, on behalf of the DiLaurentis, I made an agreement that helped us become significant in society..."

The members of the family looked at themselves, wondering what the old man was talking about.

"I promise the hand of one of ours in marriage to their heir. That family might be no more but I would keep to my end. I'm not an ungrateful man. Today, I announce the marriage between our Serena and Elijah Langston"

The entire hall burst into confusion and commotion.

The DiLaurentis didn't know which part of the bombshell to focus on.

Serena's sudden marriage announcement or the fact that she is to marry a man who was supposed to be dead.

The entire Langston family had been wiped out fifteen years ago, and even the rumors that their heir escaped weren't valid at the time.

The Langston name had long died, and great calamity would befall any of the Brooklyn Heights family that dared to mention them in public.

Was old master DiLaurentis thinking straight?

How dare he do such a thing?

Out of all the young women in the DiLaurentis household, he chose Serena, who had a list of rich suitors.

When they looked at Elijah's clothing, it was evident that he wasn't living a good life and was struggling.

Not only will he leech on them, but he will also be a source of calamity?

What would happen when the word gets out that the last son of the Langstons married into their DiLaurentis family?

"Father, you can't do this" The one who spoke first was Selena's mother, Margaret.

How could she stand by and watch her beautiful daughter be traded to a useless man?

If not for the old man's marriage restriction on Selena, she would have married a billionaire suitor already.

"I didn't ask for your opinion, you are forbidden from speaking another word" The old man shunned Margaret before bringing out a marriage certificate, "My friend at the bureau has your names written already and authorized it, once you both sign this document, you are legally married"

No one dared to speak or even oppose the old man after watching him silence Margaret, who was supposed to be his favorite daughter.

Even Serena couldn't protest.

Her position as the director of one of the family's branch businesses was facilitated by the old man, and he could take it away.

If she leaves the DiLaurentis to marry a rich man, won't they find out that she was not untouched?

Perhaps, if she marries this riff-raff, in a month, she would accuse him of forcing himself on her and then file a divorce.

That way, her dignity would still remain.

She took steps to the head of the table, picked up the ink, and drew her signature.

Before Elijah could process the answer, Mother swung her arm and sent him flying through the mountain opening with almost insulting ease. His body struck the steep passage beyond it and immediately slid down the rocky slope. What did he call it again?”A mocking smile tugged at Elijah’s lips. “The Venom Scripture.”By then, Lucius had turned completely towards him.“And after all that, he still ended up playing fetch dog for the Lancasters.”“What did you just say?” The question came quietly, but the danger behind it was unmistakable. From that reaction alone, Elijah knew he had spoken of something that was never meant to become public information. His smile only widened. “I’m saying Nig
