"You! Do you want to die? How dare you touch me"

Room 456 on the top floor of Hotel Elorix, the raging voice of a beautiful woman echoed at the waking man on the bed beside her.

He groaned painfully and lifted his eyes to see the flushed-faced woman glaring dangerously at him.

"Are you dumb?" She gritted her teeth and began to hit his head with her purse.

Elijah protected his head and said painfully, "What are you doing?"

"What am I doing?" Serena cursed under her breath and stumbled out of bed in anger.

His eyes followed her frame and caught sight of the crimson stain on the bedspread, evidence of what had happened the previous night.

Now, he actually understood what she was talking about.

"You initiated it, I was only helping you out" Elijah spoke in an aggrieved tone and even added, "You started to kiss me and even tore my shirt"

"You--Don't say nonsense. How--" Serena stopped speaking and groaned as the memory of the previous night passed through her head.

She was at this hotel last night to meet some influential investors for her business but after taking a few drinks, her body became excessively hot.

Her body wanted a man urgently and it felt like she was going to die if she didn't do it.

Serena had remembered escaping only to bump into a tall, handsome man whom she then forced into the closest room.

She had indeed forcefully kissed him and even torn his clothes from his body.

The realization of this made her face go as white as paper, but she didn't choose to acknowledge herself as the initiator.

"What if I mistakenly touched you? Aren't you man enough to run away?" She berated Elijah, who could only stare in confusion.

Was she really blaming him for this?

Who could resist a beauty like this?

Her skin was porcelain smooth, fragile, and looked like it could break from pressure.

"What are you looking at?" She struck him on the head with her purse again.

Serena would have called people to beat him till he could no longer see but if what happened here was to go outside, wouldn't she be ridiculed?

She was the prestigious daughter of the DiLaurentis family and the most sought-after woman in Brooklyn Heights.

What would happen to her pride if people were to find out she was no longer untouched?

Serena picked a few dollar notes from her purse and threw them on Elijah's face.

"Leave Brooklyn Heights.... If I see you again, I'll have you killed"

She turned around and hurried out of the room, leaving Elijah to rub his temple.

Even if this woman was irresistible, he had the mental capacity to run away from her last night but had perceived the smell from her body.

The deadly aphrodisiac she consumed would kill a woman within thirty minutes if she didn't have a physical relationship with a man.

Crafting a cure for her would take at least an hour, considering he didn't have the ingredients, so sleeping with her was the only choice.

He only did it to save her life but she hated him for it.

Elijah picked the dollar notes and stuffed them into the burlap sack by the side of the bed.

He would only consider this money her payment for saving his life.

Hanging the sack over his shoulder, he put a straw hat over his head and left the room.

He had somewhere else to be if only he hadn't encountered that beautiful woman last night.

He felt a buzz in his pocket and brought out a small phone from his pocket.

It was an unknown caller.

When he picked up, the voice of a man came from the other end, "Good Doctor, when one of my subordinates mentioned seeing you, I didn't believe them. Have you truly returned from the mountain?"

"Did your son fall sick again?"

"Ah, no, he hasn't even had a cough ever since. I have always wanted to thank you for saving my son. If you let me good doctor, I'll make you the richest man in Brooklyn Heights. You might have forgotten, but I'm the biggest financier in this part of the world," The man offered with deep adoration in his tone.

"I didn't return for riches, Mr. Charles. I need your help with something else. Fifteen years ago, the Langston Family was destroyed and almost immediately, five new powerful families rose to power in Brooklyn Heights. Find out if they were coerced or if they willingly partook in the atrocities against the Langston"

"Good Doctor, are you associated with the fallen Langston family?" The man asked curiously.

"Do what I asked," Elijah hung up the call and pocketed the small phone.

Fifteen years ago, his Langston family had been wiped out by a terrible disaster and everyone in his family was killed.

He was the only one who survived with his mother, who had a spear through her chest, but she later gave herself up when the enemy closed on them.

The one who had saved him and treated his wound was an old master from the deep mountains.

Elijah made his way to the ground floor and was welcomed by the commotion from several people.

"Look closely, I think he's dead, he's no longer breathing"

"What could make a man suddenly drop dead? This is surely strange"

"I don't think he has a family, he was leaving all by himself"

As Elijah drew closer, he could see the well-dressed old man on the floor of the hotel, surrounded by a lamenting crowd.

To their eyes, he was dead but he knew better.

"He's not dead, his Qi energy is blocked from too much stress"

When Elijah spoke, all eyes turned to him but they couldn't help but be disgusted by the way he appeared.

The burlap sack over his shoulder, the straw hat on his head, his faded jeans, and his tattered shirt.

Who was this riff-raf?

"Who are you? What do you know?" A fiesty young lady in the crowd was the first to speak and the others agreed with her.

"You must be here to secretly steal something. Hurry up and leave"

Ignoring them, he pulled a golden needle from the sack and squatted close to the unconscious old man but was immediately stopped by a young man in a tailored suit.

"What are you trying to do?"

"He's not dead yet. If I delay for another minute, he might actually be" Elijah spoke very calmly.

This was true.

The old man's life energy was slowly fading away.

"What nonsense is that? Do you know who I am? I'm a certified Doctor and one of the directors at Asheville clinic. If I say this man is dead, then he's dead. I've already called an ambulance to take his body to the mortuary. His family can come to claim his body "The face of the young doctor was full of arrogance.

"Doctor Gerald here is one of the best doctors in Asheville. He knows best" An elderly woman in the crowd pushed forward, "Don't even think of acting reckless here"

Hearing this, the young doctor puffed his chest and spoke even more arrogantly, "I have pronounced him dead and that's final. Do you want to play around with a dead body? You must have escaped from an asylum"

"Are you that eager to pronounce a man dead? If you checked well, you would notice he is alive... " Elijah didn't even hesitate and stabbed the golden needle between the forehead of the man.

The pressure point where all the life force in the body of a man crossed paths.

The young doctor frowned and

stretched his hand to pull away the golden needle when the old man gasped loudly to a seating position.

He was so frightened that he stumbled to the floor.

Even the crowd took steps backwards in disbelief.

Someone had been brought back to life before their eyes.

Was this sorcery?

Elijah helped the old man to lie back on the ground and carefully pull the golden needle.

"Ensure he is treated properly," He said to no exact person before making his way out of the hotel's exit.

The crowd quickly raced after him to ask questions but when they got outside, he had mysteriously vanished.

It was as though he were never there.

The Great Hall descended into pure chaos as the remaining disciples of the Iron Crescent Sword Sect completely lost their minds to bloodlust.Dozens of razor-sharp blades formed a suffocating, inescapable net of steel, all descending upon Elijah Langston at the exact same time. They attacked like a pack of starving wolves, abandoning all defensive forms in favor of sheer, overwhelming violence. Swords slashed horizontally toward his neck, thrust forward aiming to pierce his heart, and swept low to sever his legs. The air was filled with the terrifying whoosh of cutting steel and the maddened roars of men seeking to avenge their fallen Branch Leader. A coordinated strike designed to chop a man into a hundred unrecognizable pieces in the span of a single breath.“Damn it! Fall back or you’ll get caught in the crossfire!” one of the gunmen positioned at the rear of the hall cursed with a loud, frustrated voice. The mercenaries all had their military-grade assault rifles raised and saf

All it took was a single technique attack from Branch Leader Marco!”“Hmph! Can any outsider stand a chance against our sect’s special Golden Crescent Annihilation technique? He’ll be lucky if there’s anything left of his body to scrape off the floor tonight.”“So, this is the guy who’s giving people trouble under the name Insolent Expert? Even I would be able to handle him. He doesn’t even come close to Leader Marco. True strength doesn’t lie in sneak attacks and running the mouth!”They all said this while looki

  • Chapter 372

Unlike the deceased Mathias, who had tried to close the gap before executing his strike, Marco was on an entirely different level of mastery. As his body tore through the air, so did the heavy sword in his hand. He began swiping and slashing in a series of complex, bending arc movements while still in mid-air.What followed each devastating strike was a terrifying outburst of pure internal energy erupting from the blade. It perfectly followed the arc shape of his sword movements, manifesting as blinding, yellow crescent waves that glowed with a lethal luminescence. The energy blades were moving far too fast to be easily tracked by the naked eyes of an ordinary person. These various crescent energy waves tore through the air with a dangerous, explosive force. They collided with the massive, oak table situated at the center of the room, cleanly slicing through the thick, centuries-old wood as if it were wet tissue paper. Unimpeded, the glowing arcs headed straight for Elijah, who stoo

Elijah Langston looked down at the discarded steel resting near his shoes. He didn’t flinch, or even scramble for the weapon. He simply raised his head, a faint, mocking smile playing on his lips as he looked Marco dead in the eyes.“You rehearsed that in front of a mirror, didn’t you?” Elijah asked, his tone dripping with patronizing amusement. “Be honest. We won’t let a word of this outside of here, right, guys?”He casually gestured toward the wall of heavily armed hostiles standing in front of him, treating them like an audience at a bad comedy show.Marco’s eyes turned a violent, bloodshot red, completely abandoning whatever composure he had left. His grip tightened around the hilt of his broadsword until his knuckles popped, the razor-sharp tip pointing directly at Elijah’s chest. “You!? Do you think your sharp tongue can save you tonight? Do you think I’ll turn my back and allow you to sneak-attack me? Hmph! That’s not happening.”The tactical mercenaries were losing their pati

The moment the name “Elijah Langston” left Marco’s trembling lips, the atmosphere in the Great Hall changed. The sect members who hadn’t yet drawn their weapons scrambled backward, the sharp shing of steel ringing out in a panicked chorus as they took up desperate defensive stances. But now, they realized their fatal error. This wasn’t a homeless squatter or a confused street rat—this was the Insolent Expert, the one they had been sent to butcher. Yet, looking at him… was he really this young? Was this casually dressed twenty-something really the nightmare currently causing trouble for the great families of Brooklyn Heights?“Insolent Expert? • Chapter 369

The group of sect members hailed him with exaggerated praise. They all leaned forward in eager anticipation, because the Phantom Five-Strike Severance was a legendary move that only a few senior disciples of the Iron Crescent Sword, in all of Sorevia had perfected. It was said to be capable of slicing a thick bamboo stalk into five equal parts in the blink of an eye. Now, they were going to witness it used on a real human being.“Watch and learn, you inexperienced juniors! I won’t repeat myself!” Mathias warned, his gaze narrowing into focus. With a sharp exhale, Mathias leaned forward, and his body practically vanished. He tore through the air at a terrifying, explosive speed that only his fellow sect members were trained enough to track. To the gunmen in the back, he appeared to simply vanish. In one second, Mathias was standing with the group; in the next, he had arrived directly in front of the golden throne where the young man was still seated, entirely engrossed in his writing.
