A black sedan slowed alongside him as Cain replaced his cell phone back to his pockets and a familiar voice crept from behind..

Doctor Rhode rode down, each step echoing with what seemed like a mixture of respect and curiosity for such a young man with powerful medical skill.

“It's late, how about you hop into my car for a ride? I would be more than glad to take you anywhere in the city." He motioned with a calculating voice.

Cain twitched slightly.

"Thank you. But I would prefer to clear my head with a walk!" Cain turned down the request politely.

Rhodes’ brow arched. Surprise flickered across his features.

It wasn't normal for anyone to turn down the offer from one of the most powerful medical prodigies in the country.

But he didn't push further, quickly masked by his usual composure.

The doctor straightened, curiosity sharpening.

"Alright if you say so!"

He produced a small envelope, sleek and official-looking. “But at least take this. It's a ticket to the World Doctors’ Conference. The pinnacle of our profession. I'm sure you would learn a lot and of course, have a lot to share yourself "

Cain stopped for a fraction of a second. He took the envelope casually, eyes scanning the city beyond. “Thanks. I’ll see if I can make time.” His tone was detached, like accepting a gift cost him nothing.

Rhodes blinked. Most would have lingered, asked questions, shown interest. Cain simply continued walking like it meant nothing.

Rhodes stared as his figure moved. He needed to find out more about this young star by all means possible.

While Cain walked out of a car broke the rhythm of the night. It stopped, doors opening silently. Aria Hart stepped out, her presence shifting the atmosphere instantly. She moved differently now—confident, commanding, and impossibly alluring.

“Cain,” she said, voice soft yet layered with authority, apology, and something else beneath. “I… I’m sorry. For what happened back there. For the humiliation and I don't know how I could make it up to you."

She extended her hand, holding the Hart family card. “Please… accept this from the Hart family. It's a token of our appreciation and it would give you access to anything that is owned by the Hart family."

Cain shook his head, lips curving faintly. “I don’t take gifts. I only wanted to help.” His reply was short and firm

Aria froze, surprise flickering across her face.

It was a gift that anyone would die to have, but he turned it down like it was nothing.

Something rose inside of her and quickly, she schooled her looks into neutrality.

"Well then, is there anything in the Hart household that you would love to have?"

She stepped closer, subtly tilting her body, and a part of her boobs slipped.

For the first time, Cain palms grew sweaty and the temperature seemed to grow a degree hotter.

Aira was effortlessly seductive. Her calm and smoothing words, her cool skin, it took every ounce of discipline not to request for her.

"Not for now!" His looks soon returned back to his usual poker expression.

“You’ll owe me one… in the future,” he said simply. No hesitation, no flirtation returned.

Her breath hitched slightly, stunned at the restraint, the control, the unspoken power behind his calm.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the city, Sia sat at the head of a mahogany table, Family members and cronies crowded around, voices buzzing with excitement.

Kane leaned back, smirking. “I have secured tickets for the top 200 CEO conference that is holding tomorrow This will seal everything for us and raise Sia to the next step, together with second generation companies in the city”

Applause rippled through the room. “Finally, someone who’s a real man,” Fred, Sia's brother, said, voice thick with disdain. “Not like… him.”

Heads nodded. “Cain? That worthless fool. The only thing he knew how to do was drain the family.one cousin added, with a sharp sneer.

“Why haven’t you made a move to seal this relationship?” Beauty, Sia's cousin inquired.

"Yes!" Other echoed murmurs.

"He's rich! Sensible and has everything you could ever think of in a man, besides, everyone already thinks you both are together."

Sia’s expression remained neutral, lips tight. Inwardly, she knew the truth—she hadn’t truly cheated Cain that dAy. Every act, every lie, was calculated. She only needed Cain to accept the divorce, to finally leave her alone and it worked, though it felt like she had made the biggest mistake ever, it was all for the best.

“I’m waiting… for the right time,” Sia lied smoothly.

Just then, a commotion at the far end of the room drew everyone’s attention. Guards dragged a trembling servant forward, shouting, “He… he was stealing a necklace!”

Sia’s gaze swept over the delicate piece in the servant’s hands. “Worthless,” she said, voice sharp, tossing it aside. “Its just a trinket that Cain gifted me on one of our anniversaries, claiming it's connected to his family."

Kane's eyes narrowed, expression unreadable. “Worthless?” he repeated.

He picked up the necklace and surveyed it closely, his eyes popping out from his pockets.

"If I'm correct, this is definitely the Ethereal gem necklace worth over a billion dollars and owed by a lost dynasty."

Silence hit the room like a hammer. Eyes widened, breaths caught. Every whisper died. Servants froze. The family froze. Sia froze.

"It can't be." Their eyes all popped.

That’s what he told us!” Malcolm’s friends whispered amongst themselves, their eyes looked at him with so much shock.“This is such wonderful news, Michael! Who would have thought that the bank belonged to us?” Cain chuckled softly, giving Michael more reasons to ask the questions that harbored his curiosity.“What has he done, Lord Cain? Has he offended you?” The Butler looked at Malcolm who gestured to him to plead on his behalf.“He has, Michael. His son insulted my friend and me earlier today, and tonight again, I encountered him.”“I am so sorry, Lord Cain! My son was very foolish for whatever he did to you at the store! He is going to apologize right away!” Malcolm stood up fr

I am sure we can find somewhere else to sit.” Noah said calmly, looking around in search of another place they could sit. He sighted an empty chair at the other end of the hall, and he sighed before returning his gaze to Cain.“Over there, Cain! I see an empty seat. We should go there right now, I can let you sit, I don’t mind standing.” Noah hoped that Cain was going to agree to what he said, but his mind was already made up, and he refused to budge.“Why don’t you listen to your friend, boy! Leave that place, and find somewhere else to sit!”“No! That’s not gonna happen! If you want me to leave, then you are going to have to make me!” Cain’s eyes glared at the man, sending cold shivers down his spine and those of his friends. I can’t believe that this is me.” Noah gasped the moment he saw his reflection in the mirror. He had never dressed in such expensive attire, and he couldn't stop staring.“Come on, Noah. CHAPTER EIGHTY-FIVEThe air in the room thickened with a lot of tension, and while Caroline was still trying to get a grip on herself, Noah nudged Cain in an attempt to get his attention, but he refused to look at him while he kept his eyes on Brian who was still fuming with so much anger inside him.“I really think we should leave this place, Cain. This is getting out of hand.” Noah whispered to Cain with a nervous tone, but he stood his ground.“Didn’t you hear me? I asked you to call your Manager! Do it now!”“Please, Mr. Pager! You don’t need to do this, we can settle it amicably.” Caroline pleaded, but her plea fell on deaf ears. She looked at Cain almost immediately, giving him gestures to leave, but he refused to listen to her.“If you do not call your Manager right now, I am going to write a bad review about this place, and I will make sure you lose your job! I swear!”“No, please! You don’t have to do that, Mr. Pager! I will call him, I will call him!”“Yes! Go on! Tell him I

CHAPTER EIGHTY-FOURCain took in a deep breath which he let out slowly in an attempt to get a grip on himself. The demeanor of the saleslady pissed him off greatly, and he tried as much as he could to stop himself from reacting. He looked at Noah, but he seemed to be unbothered about all of that while he occupied his eyes with admiring the suits in front of them.“These are really nice, Cain! I have never worn a suit before, this is going to be my first time. I am super excited!”“Yeah, I guess.” Cain managed to smile at Noah while he struggled with his anger. He looked toward the direction the saleslady had gone and saw that she was speaking to some other people with an excited smile on her face. From the look of things, they appeared rich, and she placed much value on them because of their appearance.“Who are those people?” Noah said when he realized that Cain had been staring at them with a smirk on his face.“Why would she keep us standing for so long? That’s unprofessional!” Noa
