Chapter two

With only a few light bulbs remaining on the first floor, he swiftly completed the task.

Then, he made his way outside to wash the two cars belonging to his wife and mother-in-law.

Passing by Zale as he washed the car, a burly male servant couldn't resist mocking him, ridiculing his helpless state.

The insults from his in-laws were already unbearable, but the mockery from the mansion's servants added to his distress.

Aware of his powerlessness, the servants took every opportunity to taunt him when he was alone.

Zale's anger flared up as he glanced at the servant, but he quickly redirected his focus to the car.

"I'll endure all of this because of you, my love," he muttered, calming his raging heart.

After an hour, he finished washing the two cars and hurriedly proceeded to his room to prepare for work.

However, on his way to his room, he stumbled upon someone that further delayed him by a couple of minutes.

"Hey, stop right there, loser. Where do you think you're going?" Adams jeered, blocking Zale's path.

Adams was a son-in-law just like Zale. He was married to the eldest daughter of the Jenkins family, whereas Zale was married to the youngest daughter, Sasha.

Both Zale and Adams held the status of live-in sons-in-law within the Jenkins family, residing together in the ancestral mansion of the Jenkins family, though didn't receive equal treatment.

Adams, CEO of one of the most successful multi-million dollar companies in the city, possessed a noteworthy professional position, unlike Zale.

However, there was more to his story than just his corporate achievements.

Adams's prosperity could be directly attributed to his marriage to the Jenkins family.

Before marrying his wife, he operated a modest small business.

However, following the marriage, his circumstances and social standing underwent a significant transformation.

This union provided Adams with a unique opportunity to manage a company of considerable stature and enjoy the privileges associated with his marriage to the affluent and influential Jenkins lineage.

It's worth noting that everything Adams owes actually belongs to Azazel Jenkins, the head of the Jenkins family.

The only reason Adams received different treatment from Zale was because of his extraordinary skills in the field of business.

His remarkable marketing skills drove the Jenkins Group to more and more profits and in the process earned their respect.

Zale's expression contorted into a frown as Adams blocked his path.

"Get the fuck out my way, Adams. I don't have your time this morning. I'm late for work." As he said that, he tried shoving his body through the little opening beside Adams, but it ended up being blocked away by Adam.

In a condescending manner and with a mocking grin, Adams retorted, "I have repeatedly emphasized, Zale, the importance of showing respect when addressing me. We exist in different echelons, and we share no similarities. Do you understand?"

"Like I said, I don't have time for this, Adams. We can continue this some other time, but right now, I really need to get ready for work," Zale articulated before he made an attempt to get away again, but like before, Adam obstructed him with his body.

Zale sighed frustratedly with dropped shoulders. He then asked, "Tell me, what do you want, asshole?"

The grin on Adams's face widened when he heard that. "Now you're talking, loser." He then took out his car key from his pocket and attempted to slide it into Zale's hand, but Zale swiftly withdrew his hand before the key could touch his hand. "Hurry up, take it. This is my car key. I want you to wash my car. I watched from my room as you washed those cars and I must say, you really got some car-washing skills. I expect nothing less from you, low-life."

An inexplicable surge of anger rippled inside Zale when he heard all that and instantly, he had the urge to punch Adams in the face until his entire facial bone was completely distorted, but he decided not to act on his urges.

"Get out of my way right now, or else, you'll regret it! And trust me, I won't spare your handsome face this time," Zale threatened in a booming voice. His demeanor had taken a complete turn; fury was evident in his body language and aura.

Adams was about to ignore Zale's threat when he halted abruptly, his recollection of the previous encounter where Zale had fiercely beaten him up fresh in his mind.

For some inexplicable reason, fear gripped him as he stared deep into Zale's eyes and saw how deadly serious and infuriated he was.

Without wasting time, he stepped aside, allowing Zale to pass.

Zale continued on his way without uttering another word.

"That idiot! How dare he threaten me? I will deal with him later," Adams murmured in frustration before he ran along.
