A few minutes later.
Kevin walked out of the bathroom.
Brielle went and personally checked. The words on the glass mirror were gone. The bathroom looked clean.
“Don’t mix too much spray,” Brielle said. “Ask the janitor so you can do a better job next time.”
Kevin looked at her with a neutral expression.
“You will be cleaning the toilet in every board meeting from now on,” Brielle added.
With these words, she was indirectly declaring to every board member that she was not in favor of Kevin.
And this would only make it all the more difficult for Kevin to survive much less thrive in O’Brian Group.
This was like removing the nails of a person and then expecting them to peel garlic cloves.
Kevin’s face turned serious. “I want to buy the majority shares of Serenity.”
Brielle raised her eyebrows. “That company is worth over a million dollars now. For majority shares, you need half a million. You don’t have that much money.”
“If I bring the money, will you sell your shares?” Kevin asked.
Brielle thought about it. “O’Brian Group started with Serenity company, so it holds a deep value in my eyes. I can’t give you total control over it. However, I will let you buy 30 percent shares.”
Kevin knew that she was just spouting bullshit when she said she valued Serenity. “If I’m not the majority shareholder, then I can’t lead the company effectively.”
“Nobody is expecting great things from you, so you just have to play your role as the CEO of Serenity,” Brielle coolly stated.
Kevin frowned.
Brielle always wanted to force Kevin to divorce Cecilia one way or another. She never gave him the opportunity for his company to prosper. In doing so, she was also making her own daughter suffer, but she was willing to do it anyway.
“I will buy 51 percent shares for 1 million dollars,” Kevin said, surprising everyone.
Where would he be able to get a million dollars from?
Naomi and Sadia were looking at Cecilia. She stared right back at them, although smiling, as if semi-politely telling them to mind their business.
“Half the shares for a million dollars, you say?” Brielle’s expression changed. She briefly looked at Cecilia and then Orlando.
Orlando slowly blinked once.
“Alright. I’ll give you a month,” Brielle said. “If you can give me a million that you earned and not borrowed from anybody, with proof, then I will make you the majority shareholder of Serenity.”
“I hope you will keep your word, Aunt,” Kevin put his hand forward for a handshake.
However, she walked right past him.
“The meeting is over,” Brielle said and left the room. Orlando followed her, briefly casting a glance at Kevin.
Soon, one by one left the room with scoffs and giggles. Nobody expected Kevin to earn a million dollars in a year, let alone a month.
Sadia and Rory came over to him and said, “Good luck earning a million in your dreams, Brother.”
Dabby also briefly stopped and said, “Money doesn’t grow on trees. You didn’t realize that even after losing all your father’s inheritance and spending a year and half with my family. You’re a lost cause, Kevin. You don’t deserve Cecilia. If you don’t leave her soon, I will make you sign the divorce papers even if it means I’ll need to break all your teeth.”
After Dabby left, only Kevin and Cecilia were in the hall.
Kevin glanced at her from where he stood and said, “Aren’t you going to say something?”
Cecilia got up and slowly walked over. “Where are you going to get a million in a month? Even if you end up making a deal with Jordan, it will be the company’s money, not yours.” She seemed worried and also upset at the same time.
Kevin gently touched her hand and looked at the wedding ring. “Serenity is just the starting step, Cecilia.”
Cecilia’s eyes slowly but surely widened.
She didn’t know what Kevin was planning, but it felt quite dangerous. “You’re playing with fire, Kevin. My mom is worse than fire. She’s lava.”
“I will become as big as the ocean then,” Kevin replied. “So, just believe in me.”
“I do believe in you, but I don't want you to get hurt,” Cecilia said. “You don’t know my mom fully. She’s only been pressuring you moderately so far because you obeyed her, but now that you’re openly challenging her, she will make your life a living hell. You think she will let you acquire a million dollars in a month?
“No, even if you were to win a lottery, she’ll buy that damn lottery company so that you won’t win. That’s the kind of woman she is. Nobody can tell her what to do, not even her own husband. So… tell her that you have no interest in buying Serenity and that you were speaking out of tiredness or retardedness or something.”
Kevin slightly shook his head. “Sorry, but this has to happen. I don’t want to clean toilets to satisfy your mother’s ego. I have to stand on my own feet, which I can’t do as long as Serenity is in your mother’s hands.”
Cecilia’s lips pursed together. She had never seen Kevin be so determined since he paid off his father’s debt. “Fine. Do what you want, but if you fail, she will use this opportunity to break our marriage. If you don’t give me anything to say in your defense, don’t expect me to mindlessly fight against my mother and my family.”
“If such a day comes, I won’t ask you to defend me,” Kevin told her. “But I assure you that I won’t ever put you in such a situation.”

Kevin was questioned about his attempt to save the people from the burning bus.She and Orland criticized him very much, whereas Dabby and Rory scolded him, calling it foolishness to risk his life for strangers. On top of that, Brielle asked him about his fight with the thugs on the street.“Don’t drag our image onto the streets,” Brielle said coldly. “If something like this happens ever again, I will punish you appropriately.”“Aren’t you going to punish him now?” Naomi asked innocently. “How will he learn from his mistakes if you don’t punish him?”Brielle smiled as she could see through Naomi’s intentions. “Alright. Then you’ll stay in your room for the entire tomorrow and repent your actions.”“That can’t happen,” Kevin was quick to tell them. “I need to work hard every day if I want to win the challenge!”“Hmph, one day won’t change anything,” Sadia snorted. “Why are you acting like you can actually clear the challenge? Where are you going to earn 43 million dollars from? Are you

Kevin and Cecilia returned home. Her family members were all having a conference meeting in the hall. When Kevin entered with Cecilia, Dabby was the first one to ask him, “Did you ask Draknor Finance for 2 million dollars?”Kevin was surprised that the information already reached his family members. “Did anyone from the company contact you?”“Of course, they did. Not me, but they called my dad,” Dabby blurted. “Do you realize how awkward and uncomfortable he must have felt because he had to talk to the loan sharks?”“We never beg others for money, Kevin,” Rory added with calm pomposity. “You wouldn’t know it because you didn’t grow up here. And in the past three years, you've been busy cleaning toilets.”“Pfft,” Sadia nearly burst into laughter.Even Cecilia looked a bit shocked. But then she also understood why he would take the loan. He had to get the money from somewhere to multiply it and then win the challenge he had made to her mother.“I thought you might actually be up to some

Sariyu Shamus just got home as the sun slipped out of view. She was living in the Shamus Estate, one she had inherited from her father. When she entered the hall, she was surprised to see Jack. He was the last person she expected to see at her home.“What are you doing here?” Sariyu took out her gun immediately.Jack still sat down and was pouring himself a drink. The maids were standing nervously in the background.“I know you learned how to shoot from Dad, but he didn’t teach it to you so you can shoot his son,” Jack said.“His son?” Sariyu frowned. “You’re not his son. You may have the same blood as him, but he always regretted that you were born into this world. You’re nothing but a monster who killed my mom.““I didn’t kill her.”“Cut the bullshit. The flight didn’t magically crash into the sea. You were behind it. You killed not just my mom, but everyone on that flight. Calling you a monster wouldn’t do justice.”“It’s true that I hated your mom because she never considered me

Huggard was sitting at the edge on the rooftop of a skyscraper. He was looking at the setting sun.The last few rays of light dimmed down, and the night of this region officially began.A shadowy figure appeared behind him, dressed in a suit and his body giving off a chilling aura.“I’m sorry, Master Jack. I have no excuses,” Huggard said without even looking back. “Just kill me.”Jack walked over and sat next to Huggard and opened an alcohol bottle made in the 1800s.“Red wine preserved with aura for almost 200 years,” Jack said. “I spent 30 million dollars to buy this one in the ‘swamp’ market.”He drank half of the bottle in one go, and then gasped a little.“This is it,” he grinned. “Normal wine doesn’t even hold a candle to this.”“Is it that good?” Huggard asked.“Yeah,” Jack gave the bottle to him.Huggard took a sip and was quite shocked by it. “I-it’s really strong. Stronger than any drink I tasted.”“Haha, you can drink the rest if you want.”“I can?”“Yes, you can.”“But… I
