Chapter 6. The Offer

Megan, who saw Ace's attitude all this time, could only guess what happened to the poor man she had thrown away.

The property marketing person who had been listening to the conversation of the two potential buyers was quite confused and then answered, "Yes, sir, the Luxury type. It's more spacious because there's office space on the rooftop and wine storage underground!" he answered in typical sales style.

"More expensive, of course, than this one?" asked Ace again.

Bruce raised his hand and was about to hit Ace, but... "Ughh...," Ace blocked Bruce's attack and said, "Don't you realize you're being recorded? You could be ruined if I reveal your behavior to your business colleagues. So stop the act!" Ace growled, throwing Bruce's hand away.

"You... just wait, you bastard! You'll get what's coming to you!" Bruce yelled aggressively.

"We can continue this in the real game, Bruce!" Ace threatened without fear.

Ace then smiled a little and called Andrew to continue the payment for the house.

"Mr. Andrew, can you complete our transaction?" Ace asked calmly. His gaze was focused on Andrew while Bruce glared at Ace with hatred. Meanwhile, Megan wondered where Ace got billions of dollars.

"Mr. Ace, do you want the Luxury Type?" Andrew confirmed.

"Yes. I like the model and its functions. I'll take that type only," Ace replied confidently.

"How much do you want to put as a down payment?"

This was a rare opportunity for Ace. An opportunity to make Megan and Bruce angry. "Cash!" Ace said, making Bruce and Megan angry and leaving Ace and his team behind. Ace had dealt a heavy blow to Bruce and Megan, making him only grin seeing their behavior.

After they left, Ace immediately went to Andrew to make sure of one thing. "Andrew... make sure you don't sell a single unit to Mr. Bruce, or you won't get a bonus for this house sale!" Ace said before transferring the funds to the property.

Hearing the threat made Andrew tremble, all because the value of the bonus Ace gave was not a small amount. Although he could refuse to obey Ace's orders, he didn't do so because Andrew knew what would happen to his livelihood if he objected. "Alright, Mr. Ace. I'll make sure they won't be able to get any units in this cluster," Andrew obediently replied.

"You deserve another bonus from me. Thank you, Andrew. And one more thing, give your phone to Aileen!" Ace said, patting Andrew's shoulder.

Andrew, confused, could only remain silent and tense at the same time. What was happening? What did Mr. Ace want with his phone? Cold sweat poured down Andrew's forehead. Ace remained silent, but his aura was terrifying for Andrew.

"Delete everything from Andrew's phone!" Ace ordered Aileen, who executed the order without further questioning, although she was unsure if this was right.

Andrew, who heard Ace's order, could only comply without knowing what his mistake was. And what was Aileen actually doing?

"When can we move into the house?" Ace asked Andrew again.

Andrew turned to look at Ace. "Tomorrow, sir. We are cooperating with the house management so that you don't have to worry about it," Andrew replied respectfully.

"Okay."

Ace left the area, and before he left, Andrew's phone rang.

"Yes, Mr. Bruce?" Andrew answered, drawing Ace's attention. He stopped to listen to Andrew's conversation through the phone.

"We want to take the same unit as that annoying bastard!" Bruce cursed because he was surpassed by Ace.

"I'm sorry, sir. All units here are already sold out," Andrew answered while still maintaining his professionalism as a property marketing executive.

"What do you mean? Didn't you say there were some empty song units?" Bruce asked with a rising tone. Megan, who was beside Bruce, could only bite her nail as an expression of frustration.

"Yes, Sir, but all the remaining units here have been sold by Mr. Ace Dai," Andrew replied again, following Ace's scenario.

Ace, who heard Andrew's answer, smiled meaningfully, knowing that Bruce had once again lost in a predictable step.

"Damn it! Stupid marketing! You're stupid for trusting that crazy person!" Bruce cursed, truly angry this time. His face turned red because this was the first time he had received such a painful insult.

"I'm sorry, Sir. But Mr. Ace has paid for everything in full."

"Fuck you!"

Bruce immediately slammed his phone hard towards the steering wheel, causing the driver to pull over temporarily. Bruce got out of the car and vented his frustration several times by swearing and shouting. However, Megan remained silent inside the car and did not want to calm her boyfriend down because of Bruce's hot-headedness, which could threaten her.

"Don't go anywhere, Miss. Wait inside until Mr. Bruce calms down," Bruce's assistant said flatly as if already used to Bruce's behavior like this.

Bruce got back into the car and immediately said, "Find out who that despicable human is! Do you understand, Sam?" Bruce yelled at his assistant.

"Very well, Sir."

"I want him destroyed until he becomes a beggar again. No mercy!"

Meanwhile, inside Ace's car, Ace and his family looked relaxed and happy after Ace informed them that they could move tomorrow. Miana could only hug Ace out of joy. Meanwhile, his mother could only shed tears while continuing to hold Ace's hand. Ace just looked at his mother meaningfully. In his heart, Ace promised to complete his research on a tool for detecting the inherent symptoms of LUPUS that his mother suffered from.

Shortly after, Ace saw a call from Casey, but he decided to reject the call because of the presence of his family. Ace immediately replied with a message, "We'll talk after I drop off my mother!"

"Okay, Ace. It's better if you come to my apartment now because it's important!" Casey replied.

"Okay. I'm hungry, can you prepare some food?"

"Okay."

After dropping off his younger sister and mother, Ace immediately headed to Casey's new apartment. Just seeing Casey actually made Ace happy, and he needed that right now. Ace did seem cautious about showing his true feelings to Casey to make their plan work.

"You look a mess!" Casey said when she opened the door to her apartment.

"I'm tired!" Ace replied, immediately taking off his tie and jacket and hanging them in the storage closet next to the door.

"Do you like it here?" Ace asked as he walked towards the sofa.

"I do. Thank you for buying it for me."

Ace just smiled. "I'm going to stay here. So that I can finish the program faster!" Ace ordered, only getting a nod from behind Ace's back.

"Why so quiet?"

"I said yes by nodding. Besides, we're used to working together," Casey replied as she headed to the kitchen. "Do you want to eat now?" Casey asked casually, for her, Ace was just the coolest work partner to work with.

"Did you cook my favorite food?" Ace asked flatly.

Casey just smiled, for her, flat people like Ace were really annoying like this. Annoying, but it didn't matter for Casey, she was flexible enough for things like that.

"Yes, Mr. Ace. I cooked your favorite dish. Spaghetti with lots of mushrooms and cheese plus... spicy. Right?" Casey said as she grabbed the cold water that Ace always asked for.

"Ice-"

"Cold!"

Ace gave a thin smile, it's been hard to see Ace laugh again since the betrayal of Megan and the harshness of his life.

Casey placed the food on the table, while Ace was still busy with his phone, checking the stock market updates of a multinational company that specializes in medical equipment.

"Eat first, Ace!" Casey ordered gently.

Ace only nodded and put the food on the plate, eating it eagerly. Nothing had changed, Casey was still the woman he admired.

"Your mother's condition is worrying!" Casey said shortly after Ace finished his drink.
