The Unconquerable son-in-law

Chapter 10

Immediately Stella was out of sight, Mason's phone beeped. He brought it out quickly after confirming that Stella was already in her room. He unlocks the phone and opens the message. 

A phone number was sent to him and an instruction under it. An instruction which says, "call this number under this message and he will tell you what you need to know." 

Mason hastily copies out the number and calls it on the phone. The number rang out several times before it was picked. 

"Good evening sir." Mason greets him immediately the phone was picked up at the other side. He is really curious to know what's going on. Are they really handing over a company to him? Is it because he passes the first task? 

"Evening. Please who is this?" The man asks. Mason's heart thumps loudly and he wonders how he is going to introduce himself. Aren't they supposed to have told him about him calling to save him the stress of introduction. 

"I'm Mason Anderson. A man called me not too long ago about a building handing over and I didn't quite get it. He sent this number to me to call you for more enquiries." Mason introduces himself.

"Oh, Mr Anderson. It's you." The man says excitedly that he receives his call. He has been expecting his call for some time now and he guessed he was the one but wanted him to introduce himself so he could be sure. 

"Yes, it's me. It seems the man was in a hurry." 

"Yes, he has always been a busy man." The man replies to him. For some reason, his voice sounds familiar to Mason but he can't quite point out where he heard it or who owns it. Maybe it was his imagination. He dismissed the thoughts immediately and focused on the call. 

"So sir, what is the ruckus all about?" 

"Well, Mr Anderson, you have been chosen as the new CEO of CasiX Gaming Company." He reveals to him.

"What!" Mason exclaims and covers his mouth immediately. He has forgotten that Stella was still at home. 

"CEO? How did it happen?" 

"Yes, and the gaming company is worth Eighty Billion Dollars." The man confirmed.  

"You mean I am the new CEO of CasiX Gaming Company that is worth Eighty Billion Dollars?" Mason asked again to be sure. 

"Yes, but don't be over excited Mason. You have to sign the papers and hand them over to you before it becomes official." 

"But how did it happen?" 

"Well, you are just lucky. You are lucky to be chosen. You were one of the first set to register for the game and you were the only one to finish your task in a limited time. Some took a lot of time. But you finished your task early. That was why you were chosen." The man explains. 

"Luck? I'm lucky. Thank you so much sir. I never believed this would happen to me." If they had told him that this would happen to him, he would have refused vehemently. This shows that his life is changing. It's changing for the better. 

He has a million dollars in his bank account and now he's becoming a CEO. A Billionaire CEO. A CEO of a company which is worth Eighty Billion Dollars. That means he is about to become a billionaire. A billionaire! His dream self! 

"No one would have believed it. This is just luck that happens to chosen people." The man replies to him.

"When am I signing the papers?" Mason asks. He has become impatient. He wants to be sure he's not dreaming and own the gaming company.

"You can come over tonight. I will send the location of the restaurant I am at to you. When you get here, we can talk more and we will both meet the man you talked to earlier for the handing over of the company." He explained to him.

"Okay sir. I will be expecting. Thank you so much sir." Mason thanks him.

"My pleasure Mr Anderson and once again, congratulations sir." The man said and disconnected the call. Mason was elated. This is the first time someone will call him sir and he notices that after this handing over of the company, all his employees under him will call him with the title. 

He was overjoyed. He's going to be a billionaire, a CEO with a lot of employees under him. His life changed for the better in just a day. 

Mason finds it lucky and grateful to Mr John for firing him. Truly, every disappointment is a blessing.  And today proved it to him. 

He rushed into his room and ransacked his whole wardrobe. The clothes he had used to convince Bella that he was rich were burned by her.

After she discovers that Mason lied and when she moved into his house, she looked for the clothes and burned everything. That was why Mason was left with tattered cloth and now, he doesn't have any suitable thing to wear. 

Mason recalls that he has bought some shirts and trousers from the clothing section with the money from the first task. He brings it out from the bag and sees it is suitable to wear. 

He thanks his stars that he bought the clothes or else what suitable cloth will he wear to the restaurant for the handing over. If they see him with tattered cloth, they may kick against the idea of giving him the position thinking he isn't worth it. 

For the first time after the incident with Bella that evening, Mason was glad that she left with Dennis. Or else, he will be bombarded with questions while going out. Mason has received the address on the iPhone and he wrote it down.

He takes his bath quickly, he wears his clothes and combs his hair. He may not have the luxury to style his hair but he knows he is better with how he looks. He doesn't look tattered or poor, he looks like an average man and his handsomeness helps. 

He pocketed his phone and the iPhone as he thought he would be needing it. Mason set out to the street. The sun had already set in and the moon was shining brightly. It was night already but who cares? The street was still filled with people. 

Immediately Mason left, Stella came out from the stairs where she was listening to everything. She heard every word he was saying on the phone. Has he gone crazy? Has Mason finally gone crazy? She wonders. How did he get that phone? 

It looks expensive and it looks like an iPhone brand. Is it an iPhone? The ringtone was an iPhone. But where did he get it? Has he been stealing? Stella already knows Mason will be stealing because he can't afford anything or so she thinks.

"He has finally lost his mind. CEO? Hmph.." Stella said and walked back to her room. Where will Mason ever get that luxury? In his dreams! 

Mason gets down from the cab and pays him off. He opens the glass door and walks into the restaurant. The man already told him he was at seat 12. All Mason needs to do is to check out where seat 12 was and who is on it. He traces the number and sees a familiar man sitting there. His back is turned to Mason so he isn't able to view his face. 

He walks towards him and taps him on his back. The man turns with a smiling face and as their eyes meet each other, they are left with a surprised expression.

"You?" The man says in surprise. He never could believe that he was the lucky one. This man will be their new CEO. Then he is in for it. 

"Dennis!" Mason calls in surprise. So he was the one who will direct him with the handing over. No wonder his voice sounded familiar on the phone. 

Mason is sure that he is shocked that he is the chosen one. But Mason himself is shocked that he is the chosen one and the one who ridicules him not too long ago will be present during him signing in as the CEO of a company worth Eighty Billion Dollars.
