Amber’s heartbeat pounded heavily as Jake’s eyes remained on her throughout the meeting. Kate had shown up unexpectedly at the company and requested for a short meeting with the head of each department. Only Vince and Gabriella were the lower staff at the meeting but it didn’t matter. Everyone assumed they showed up for the CEO. “I called this meeting to address an important problem. Kate laid back on the sofa, her back hurt so much despite the constant massage she got. She knew it was nearing the time for another chemotherapy session which was starting to tire her out. The call she had just dropped from thirty minutes earlier saddened her heart more. She picked up her notepad and scribbled something on it. She was starting to get forgetful as a side effect of some of her medications. Just as she had condemned Vince’s mother in the past, he was facing the same problem at the company which hurt her badly. Kate couldn’t bear the thought of everything as her mind pushed forward the image of having him hated by everyone. When they finally found out his identity, were they going to quit?
