Jason was about to take a drink when the sound of the mansion gates and an approaching car caught his attention. Peeking through the curtains, he saw Peter Robinson’s luxury car driving in.
He quickly settled into his wheelchair, masking any sign of movement, just as Olivia, Peter, and Melissa entered the mansion. Jason forced a casual smile, pretending he had been calmly waiting for them all along.
“Hey you guys are back,” he said.
Olivia’s head snapped toward him, and her eyes rolled so hard.
“Yes, obviously,” she drawled, her voice sounding flat. “I know you’re a pathetic cripple, Jason, but I didn’t realize blindness was part of the package too. Do you need me to describe what just happened? Or can you figure it out yourself?”
Jason’s lips pressed into a thin line. For a brief second, he considered answering back, but instead, he chose silence. His eyes dropped to the floor, not because he was ashamed, but because he knew if he met her gaze right now, she’d see the anger he kept carefully hidden.
Olivia smirked at his silence, mistaking it for defeat. “Anyway,” she continued, “we’ll be organizing a party in the living room tonight. Something… special. So you’ll need to find a way to get yourself out of here while we set up. We’ll be decorating, moving furniture, bringing in caterers. And frankly, you hanging around in that chair will just get in the way.”
Jason looked up, his brows drawing together. “A party? What for?”
“You’ll know soon enough,” Olivia said simply and took a step toward him. “In fact, why don’t you start crawling out of the living room now? I’m sure even the decorators wouldn’t appreciate having a useless cripple hovering around them while they work.”
Jason’s fingers curled slightly around the armrests of his chair. “I’m not a pathetic cripple, Olivia. I am…”
He sealed his lips back. For a brief moment, he wanted to reveal it all and tell her who he truly was, but he controlled himself just in time.
“Oh, I’m sorry,” she said with exaggerated sweetness, bending her head to the side as she examined his legs on the footrest of the wheelchair. “I forgot to add shameless to the list.”
Peter Robinson, who had been pouring himself a drink at the bar, turned around and laughed loudly. “Pathetic is the right word, Jason. You couldn’t even move from where you were when we left this morning. Still sitting in the exact same spot. How is that not pathetic?”
Olivia gave a dismissive shrug. “Well, I hope you find someone to wheel you out of here, because I have better things to do. I’m not wasting my time on you.”
Her words hurt but he simply watched her without saying anything.
The rest of the family began walking out of the room, each one heading in a different direction. Melissa followed Peter and Mrs. Robinson, and Olivia was the last to leave, pausing near the base of the stairs when she heard Jason's voice.
“I’m not who you think I am, Olivia.” Jason said.
She stopped mid-step and slowly turned her head as she narrowed her eyes. “And what the hell is that supposed to mean?”
He held her gaze. “It means… I’m not the man you keep calling worthless.”
She burst into laughter. “Oh, I know exactly what you are. You’re a leech. You’ve done nothing but take from my family since the day you married me. You’ve never given anything back because you can’t. You’re worthless, Jason. That’s all you are, and that’s all you’ll ever be.”
She turned and walked up the stairs, disappearing down the hallway without looking back again.
Jason stared at the spot where she had vanished, his arms tightening around the armrest.
Finally, he exhaled slowly, shook his head, and called out, “Lawrence!”
The butler appeared almost instantly. “Yes, sir?”
“Wheel me to my room,” Jason said simply.
Lawrence nodded and moved behind him, pushing the chair forward.

It was already evening by the time Jason finally stepped out of his room. The living room looked completely different. Streamers hung from the ceiling, tall vases overflowed with fresh flowers, and strings of lights glowed along the walls.
Jason didn’t comment. Instead, he motioned for Lawrence to wheel him toward the front of the house.
Lawrence wheeled him to the car and drove out of the Robinson mansion.
But halfway to their destination, Jason suddenly raised a hand. “Stop here.”
Lawrence obeyed, looking at him curiously.
Jason got down from the car. “Wait here for me. I’ll go alone from here.” He said, looking at Lawrence.
Lawrence frowned. “Sir, are you sure? I can come with you—”
“I am fine Lawrence,” Jason cut in. “I can manage on my own.”
Without waiting for a reply, he walked away, leaving Lawrence staring after him.
Jason continued on foot and made his way down the quiet street. A black van with tinted windows was parked at the corner.
As he approached, the door opened, and Michael stepped out.
“Divine Finger,” Michael greeted warmly, bowing slightly as his voice filled with relief. “You came.”
Jason gave him a small nod and peered inside the van. A woman lay motionless on a cushioned stretcher, her skin was very pale and her breathing was shallow as if she would die any moment.
Michael stepped closer, lowering his head before Jason. “Whatever you need to cure her, money, resources, anything at all it’s yours. Just save her please. She’s all I have.”
Jason didn’t answer immediately. He walked past Michael, stepping out of the van. His gaze moved to a small coriander plant growing by the roadside. He knelt and inspected it for a moment, then reached out and plucked a single leaf.
Michael’s men exchanged glances, looking utterly confused at what Jason was doing. Their brows furrowed. Was this some kind of joke?
Jason walked back to the van, holding the leaves delicately between his fingers.
“That’s all I need to bring her back to life,” he said calmly.Michael’s eyes narrowed in confusion. “Coriander leaves?” He pointed at the small leaf in disbelief.
“Divine Finger, forgive me, but are you serious? This little thing will cure her? All the big hospitals in the world refused to take her in because the disease was too severe. Please don’t play with me, not when it’s my wife’s life at stake.”
Jason’s expression remained calm. “I don’t play with life, Michael. Trust me... These single leaf is enough.”
Michael swallowed hard, his voice tightening. “I respect you more than anyone, but please, if there’s truly another way, use your powers. Don’t let it come down to this. She’s everything I have left. I beg you, don’t let my wife’s life depend on a coriander leaf. It feels like a joke, and I can’t bear to lose her.”
Jason reached out, placing a reassuring hand on Michael’s shoulder. “Do not worry. I gave you my word, and I will heal her. You’ll see, soon she will open her eyes again.”
“With a coriander leaf?” he asked putting his hands together in a plea, but Jason didn’t argue anymore.
He stepped inside the van, stood beside the woman, and gently squeezed the leaf between his fingers. A single drop of green juice formed and fell onto her lips.
For a while, nothing happened. The van stayed quiet and Michael’s men looked within themselves, whispering softly to each other. They were careful to hide their doubts, but it was clear they didn’t believe the coriander leaf would work.
Michael lowered his head, his heart sinking. This wasn’t what he had hoped for. He hadn’t traveled all this way just to see the Divine Finger try to heal his dying wife with a simple coriander leaf. Disappointment weighed on him like a stone as he rubbed his forehead.
Jason stayed silent, his face was calm as if he wasn’t worried at all.
“Divine Finger,” Michael whispered in disappointment. “I appreciate you coming, but…”
Michael froze when he noticed his wife’s finger twitching.
Then, all of a sudden, Michael’s wife coughed. Her body shook, and she drew in a sharp gasp of air. Her chest began to rise and fall again, and slowly, her eyes opened.
Everyone froze in shock. Michael’s men stopped whispering at once, staring wide-eyed. Michael covered his mouth with both hands, tears filling his eyes. “She… she’s awake,” he said, his voice shaking.
Jason didn’t look surprised. He just stood back quietly, watching as life returned to her eyes.

Not one of them moved, not one dared to breathe too loudly, because before their very eyes, the impossible had just unfolded.Isabelle Donovan—who had moments earlier been coughing blood, writhing in agony, and tethered to the machines that counted down her fading life—now stood upright. Her voice was trembling, filled with awe and shock in equal measure. “Father… I can walk!”The clipboard a nurse had dropped earlier clattered as it was nudged by her shaking foot, and the sharp sound jolted everyone from their t
