02 : The College Crush > Alexis

The next day after his encounter with the bully, Hudson branched over to his favorite coffee shop, which he always does before going to work every day. He pushed the huge double door open and walked in, there was a bell attached to the door, so it made a jiggle sound after it was pushed open.

“Hey Mister Jackson” the lad behind the counter called with a wave of his hand and a smile on his face.

Hudson responded with a smile on his face and walked over to him, “Give me the usual Latte” he said.

“Already prepared exactly the way you like it sir” he said and pushed the coffee to him, while Hudson dug his hands in his pocket and brought out the money to pay him with a little tip on it.

“Thank you sir” he said with another smile plastered on his face.

“Some people came looking for you this morning sir and I have no idea about who they are” he added while pointing right behind him.

Hudson followed his finger and shock registered on his face immediately as he saw the last person he ever wants to see staring back at him with a smile on his face and his arms folded on his chest along with all his clingy friends including Edward.

“Ethan” he muttered shakily with fear.

He was standing directly in front of him with a cold smile on his face. “Delivery boy there is no changes in your life at all,” he began and took a closer look at him. “Oh! I think there are a few changes, you aren’t making any progress at all, your life is moving backward entirely, you look worse compared to when you left college” he said with a mocking tone.

The rest of his friends burst out laughing, tapping his head at intervals.

Hudson brought down his head with a frown on his face. At least I am taking care of myself with my hard earned money and not fending off my dad’s own, Hudson wants to say it so bad but he knows what awaits him after the statement.

There are scars on his body that he got the last time that he did it and they are there to remind him of what will happen if he made such a statement again so he decided to keep his mouth shut, pressing his lips to form a flat line.

“I heard that you visited my house yesterday and you couldn’t even wait to say hello to your friend” he said while feigning a frowned expression on his face, emphasis on the friend.

Hudson didn’t reply, instead he kept looking at the floor like Ethan was not even there, this action angered Ethan that he couldn’t hold himself back from throwing a punch aimed at his face.

Hudson couldn’t react to it quick, it him hard from the side of his face that he lost his balance and fell on the floor with a groan as his butt hit the ground hard.

He raised his head up and came face to face with an angered Ethan, his brows were furrowed and they were a few lines already formed at his forehead, he gritted his teeth and clenched his fist tightly.

“What did I say about always replying whenever I ask you a question or don’t you know when you are to reply again?” he jerked him up from his collar and raise him up throwing him back to the floor towards the direction of the door.

Edward and one more person that was standing behind Hudson went towards him and picked him off the floor, dragging him out of the coffee shop towards an alley that was exactly beside the coffee shop.

He tried to break free off their grasp but it was all futile, their grip was so tight, after all each of them are almost double of his size.

They threw him off to the floor and blocked the space that he could run from leaving only the path where they came from open.

“Please I am sorry, I will reply you properly next time” Hudson pleaded with his palms joined together.

“IT’s better to teach you a lesson so that you wouldn’t try the same mistake you just made again.”

Ethan’s ear seemed to be shut off to his pleading voice, he kept on approaching him with the same menacingly look on his face, the rest of the goons all approaching him from all sides, kicking and punching to their hearts satisfaction.

Hudson just laid there, trying to defend himself as much as he could, but there was little that he could defend with his frail body and weak hands, no part of his body escaped the assault.

After an endless attack on his body, they stopped, panting slightly, most of them fist already covered in blood that is not their own and Hudson’s face ws already covered in blood already, he could feel the sharp tingling pain of his broken nose and his bruised lips, his left eye also suffered some assault that made it half-closed.

“Now, just one more thing Hudson, if I ever see you with or anywhere near Alexis again, I wouldn’t hesitate to break off each and every limb of your body, do you understand me?” he asked with his index finger pointed at him and a frown on his face, spitting every word with anger, his voice was filled with conviction and Hudson knew he wasn’t joking at all.

“Y.. ye… yes” he stuttered weakly, struggling to talk properly.

He watched as all of them walked away, he let out a deep weak sigh, he stretched out his tongue to lick the warm liquid that was on the side of his lips, he felt the metallic taste of the liquid on his taste bud.

He swore silently with anger, wishing they could all die.

“Do God really exist?” he asked himself painfully looking up at the sky with tears filled eyes and a weak expression on his face.
