15. Fiancee?

"Oh no. I just sneezed," Danny replied to Dennis White.

"But I heard you talking bullshit. Do you think Miss Bennet is lying?" asked Dennis White again.

"Huh! Lying or not, only Miss Bennet knows," replied Danny, who was reluctant to prolong the debate to keep his identity secret. If his identity was revealed this time, he would certainly not be able to divorce Laura.

Matthew saw the commotion and immediately whispered to his father, asking Danny to learn a lesson.

"Hey Danny, why do you like making so much noise? Are you also jealous of Miss Bennet and Young Master Lancaster's relationship? They are a very nice couple. Don't you dare compare yourself to Young Master Lancaster; you two are not comparable! You and him are like the earth and the sky!" warned Desmond.

'Is it possible that this woman is my grandfather's match for me? If so, I will cancel this engagement. I'll ask Simon to tell me!

Danny shook his head, "I think that's enough, Miss Bennet. I don't want to know anymore."

This time, Grandma smiled and said to the crowd, "Thank you for supporting the Huxley family. I hope you really blocked that useless son-in-law."

"Of course, Mrs. Huxley, we're thanking you and Mr. Harold for showing how unprofessional the Huxley family's son-in-law is!"

Matthew turned to Danny, saying, "Ha ha, you heard Miss Bennet and Young Master Lancaster are getting engaged. Now your situation is getting worse! Now you better get out of this town because you're not welcome here!"

"You take it easy, Matthew; I wouldn't want to spend my time here with hypocrites like you!"

"Damn it! You ...." Matthew couldn't continue with his words because he was so annoyed with Danny.

Meanwhile, Danny turned to Laura and waved an index finger before the blonde woman. "Don't forget, we're meeting at the registry office for the divorce this afternoon!"

"I won't forget. I'm also looking forward to the divorce with you!" Laura retorted angrily.

Danny then stepped away from the crowd. He immediately called Simon Wilson, his grandfather's right-hand man. "Simon, do you know about my engagement to Sharon Bennet, the Vice President?"

"What? Engagement? Aren't you already married to the daughter of the Huxley family?" asked Simon in surprise.

Danny was also surprised by Simon's reaction. He furrowed his brows and asked, "Wait! You really don't know this? Grandpa didn't arrange a match for me?"

Danny could hear his grandfather's right hand exhale a long breath. Then he said, "Young Master, all this time, the Great Master has been training you with various knowledge to the point of asking you to live as an ordinary citizen without any support from him. But he never intended to interfere with your love affairs."

Danny nodded, "Oh, something like that. Alright."

"Has the company's Vice President been troublesome to you, Young Master? Or do you not want a female Vice President?"

"No, I haven't thought about finding a replacement. It's just that there was a small problem between us." Danny then told Simon about what Sharon Bennet had said to him at Grandma's birthday party.

After listening to Danny's account, Simon cried out in shock. "Young Master, she's really presumptuous. I'll reprimand her; if you want it, I'll fire her right now!"

Danny shook his head. "There is no need. Firing her now is very unfortunate. We'd better invite her to play around for a few more days."

Danny smiled as he thought of a sudden brilliant idea. Then, he conveyed his plan to Simon.

"Alright, Young Master, I'll arrange it."

Danny quickly ended his call and looked back briefly while muttering softly, "Sharon Bennet, I'll remember you!"

"Danny, you're here!" exclaimed Laura, who suddenly came over to him.

Danny snorted in annoyance. "What else do you want? Do you still want me to kneel down and apologize to you? Huh! Forget it; it's all in your dreams, Miss Huxley!"

Laura stomped her foot and glared at Danny. "Damn it! Did you think I was going to follow you here? If it wasn't for Grandma asking me to call you, I wouldn't have come here!"

"Oh, what did the old lady want?" Danny retorted in a dismissive tone.

"Watch your word, Danny!" snapped Laura.

Danny was reluctant to go back, but his curiosity was piqued. Grandma might have canceled her decision to divorce. If this happened, he would go to the police station and give evidence. Grandma's favorite grandson would ruin the Huxley family.

"Where are you going? Now is not the time for you to leave; don't you respect me as the head of the Huxley family?" Grandmother asked in a high tone.

"Of course, I'm leaving. I have no business here and won't return to the Huxley household. I've brought my backpack. Do you want to check what's inside?" Danny challenged.

"The luncheon is about to start. You should still come and have lunch with us. Don't let others think of us as people with no compassion!" Grandma exclaimed.

'Crazy woman, she kicked me out a while ago and provoked the guests to block me. Now, she's asking me to have lunch with the Huxley family. Huh, why do I have to deal with this insane family?'

"Hey Danny, you can't keep quiet! Use this opportunity well. Because this is the last time you'll get to enjoy a fancy meal. Next time, you won't be able to afford fresh bread!" Matthew exclaimed suddenly.

"Matthew, it looks like the situation won't be that bad. There's no way he can't afford white bread. If he sits on the street and raises his hand, he can get coins from passers-by. Wouldn't that be enough to buy bread and a glass of milk?" mocked Susan suddenly.

Matthew stood up and laughed, "Ha ha ha, you're right. She's perfect for begging." Matthew paused momentarily and said, "Since none of us are related to the begging profession, you are not blocked from this job. The Huxley family is still generous to you by allowing you to beg on the streets to survive!"
