"This is the Academy?" Aiden mumbled as he alighted down from a black limousine.

The sheer size and decor of the Academy's building was beyond anything he could ever imagine.

Taking a look at the premises, he noticed that all the students came in expensive looking cars.

From the grandeur of their movement and the dignified air surrounding them, even an infant could tell that they were all nobles.

"Pheew. I can do this" Aiden took a breather as he sauntered towards the school building.

At the lobby area, there were four platforms with plaques besides them.

 Freshmen

 Sophomore

 Junior

 Senior

"Hm. According to my card. I am at the class D for the Freshmen Students" Aiden mumbled to himself as he followed a group who were headed for the platform with the *Freshmen* plaque besides it.

"Though, I wonder what the platform is used for?" he mumbled with curiosity.

As if answering his question, a male noble amongst the group stepped on the platform.

As soon as he did, the platform got lit with a multi colored light that engulfed him.

When the light vanished, the noble was nowhere to be seen.

"What just happened?" Aiden blurted in shock.

"That's teleportation" a girlish voice said from behind him.

"Huh?" turning back, Aiden was met with a beautiful figure.

She had purple colored hair, with curly locks covering the left side of her eyes.

Although she wasn't a devilish beauty like the maid at Xavier's house, she was a top notch beauty, for a teenage girl.

She had a slender figure, neither skinny nor chubby.

"Hi. My name is Charlotte" she introduced with a hearty smile.

 "A-Aiden"

"That platform is embedded with a teleportation type rune matrix. It's pretty rare and not many nobles can afford it" Charlotte explained.

"Rune Matrix?" Aiden wondered to himself since the term sounded foreign.

Few moments later, it finally got to his turn. Stepping on the platform, he felt a warm ray of light embrace him

He had to close his eyes due to the brilliant radiation. But when he opened them, he found himself standing on a similiar platform, in a large hallway.

"Amazing!" he sighed as he got down from the platform.

"This is the Freshmen Hall" he heard Charlotte's voice from behind him as she stepped down from the platform.

"The Freshman Hall has its own library, gym room, combat hall,  four class rooms, cafeteria and the likes. Basically, it's the environment for Freshmen only" Charlotte explained.

"Geez. How can you know so much when you're just a freshman like me?" Aiden asked.

"Well, it's borrowed knowledge from my family members who were once freshmen in the Academy" Charlotte explained with a small laugh, exposing the dimples on her cheeks.

"What class were you posted to anyway?" she asked.

 "Erm. Class D"

"Whoa" Charlotte covered her mouth in surprise.

"We happen to be sharing the same class. Come, I'll show you the way" Charlotte giggled, skipping through the large hallway.

"Geez. Isn't my luck just damn too god? It's only my first day and a girl's already talking to me!" Aiden made a mental fist bump.

.

.

After a few minutes of winding down the hallway, the duo finally arrived at Class D.

Pushing open the door, Aiden and Charlotte walked into the class room, instantly stealing the spotlight as their new classmates scrutinized them.

"Hey! look at that guy with pale milk skin"

"Doesn't he remind you of Nero?"

"You mean that junior student who beat up a couple of senior students? that Nero?"

 "I heard he's now a senior student"

"Looks like there's an empty seat for us" Charlotte cheered as she hurried over to an empty bench at the rear end of the third row.

Just after the duo sat down, the door swung open as a figure walked in.

He was clad in dark cloak that concealed his whole body, apart from his head, full with deadlocks that covered his eyes, down to the mid part of his nose.

As soon as he arrived in the class room, the atmosphere became chilly.

"S-Scary" a male studdnt gulped nervously.

"Kekeke" the cloaked new comer let out a shrill laugh, scaring many female students.

"I am Nyx.. your homeroom teacher"

"Home room teacher?" the students chorused in surprise.

What the hell was the Academy thinking, posting such a scary individual to be their home room teacher.

"Kekeke. As your home room teacher, I would like to list a select set of rules that you all must follow when in my class- Nyx grinned, exposing a row of shark-like teeth.

"First rule, no side talks. Second, no form of disturbance, whether it be coughs, laughs, sneeze, chuckles or giggles. And third, if your assessment score is below seventy.. kekeke.. You'll find out what will happen, when that happens of course"

 Badump Badump Badump

This was the nervous loud beatings of the students chests. Every single word from Nyx had a scary, intimidating effect in them.

 Drip

Droplets of sweat slid down Aiden's forehead as he rubbed his sweaty palms against his laps.

"Now, let me do a little introductional seminar.." Nyx cleared his throat.

"If you are sitting in this class room, it means you are students of Nightshade Royale Academy, the Country's number one Academy for Magis.."

"I don't really care whether you came here through the back door or by the value of your talent. But all that matters is that you're here, and you must give it your all"

"I won't hide this fact from you.. Class D is the worst and untalented class in the whole of the Freshmen hall.. But that only means, we have to work ten times harder than the other classes. Got that?"

"Yes Sir!" the whole class thundered with a chorus.

"Kekeke. Below are the subjects you'd be studying" Nyx brought out a marker and began writing on the board.

 Combat

 Mojo Analysis

 Geography

 Exotic Beast Studies

 Arts and Crafts

  Armament Studies

"Just like what is on the board, there would be six subjects in your educational catalogue" Nyx began explaining.

"The first Subject.. Combat, will test your combat, giving you a visual feel of what it is like to be on a battlefield. I know many of you aspire to become Sentries, while some Mercenaries. Honestly, I don't care"

"The aim of Combat classes, is to sharpen your combat senses. The second subject; Mojo Anaylis class.."

"Just as you know, we mold mana/world energy into beta force which can be used to reinforce our bodies. But for us to cast hexes, a medium is needed, that medium is your mojo"

"At your current level, you cannot cast hexes. Mojo analysis class will teach you the procedure to achieve such a feat, as well as help you better refine the capabilities of your mojo and bring out it's potential"

"The third subject is Geography class. It is a crucial subject which I'm not just in the mood to explain. Same as the other three subjects" Nyx rubbed his nose.

"Alright, that's it for today. Anticipate your next teacher arrival" saying this, Nyx sauntered out of the class.

WTF!

 He left? just like that?

Elden-bike continued. "Are you certain you located the right solution?" D'rogan frantically. "Y--Yes, Great Priestess!" Elden-bike fell silent. In the midst of her silence, the impatient Alghu-qan finally had the chance to chime in. "If you located the great solution, you should have immediately brought it here, whether she was claimed by another or not." "I.. I.." D'rogan broke out into cold sweat. Fortunately, Elden-bike finally moved her lips following her brief silence. "Do not make things difficult for him. According to the customs of her people, we cannot forcefully take what belongs to others." "There is a natural order to things. Not even Möngke-qan dares to go against it." Alghu-qan's expression changed. "You may be right. But I fear he won't be able to keep the customs of our people for long." "He believes himself to be the one who was prophesied by the ancient Priestesses." Elden-bike nodded in agreement. "That is correct. Unlike other Kharans, the prophes

Similar to the Golden Hooves Stallions, the Ferghan Horses were beasts known for their linear speed. But unlike their Kaizen Beast cousins, these Exotic Beasts were known to be wild and difficult to tame. Among the Kharan Hordes, a Kharan was only recognized as an adult only after they tamed their first Ferghan Horse— a traditional ceremony that ended in either the young Kharan taming their Ferghan Horse, or them dying in the process. However, even among the Ferghan Horses, there were certain distinctions based on the purity of their bloodline— The Black Maned Ferghanas ranked as the absolute lowest, preceded by the Silver Maned Ferghanas and finally, the Gold Maned Ferghanas. Among the rich historical records of the Kharan Hordes was a certain prophecy— the one who tames the King Ferghan, the one rules all. Or in the native tongue of the Kharans— Xwadāy-nïñ Ferγan at-ï-ni daruar, barca-nï ejener More than a thousand Leagues away from the Hamlet Tristan and Seo-yun were talk

Seo-yun continued with a low snort. "When we fought, our battle reached a stalemate." "But.. everything changed when the Yaman King used a dirty sneak attack on me. I nearly lost my life in the process." She clenched her jaws. "I was only able to flee using a secret art of my technique." Tristan pursed his lips. "The Idle Freedom Art?" Seo-yun appeared momentarily stunned. "You know of it?" But a few breaths later, she added. "I almost forgot. You'd surely know of it since you were the one who made me train in it." Tristan clicked his tongue. "The Image of the Divine was a Law Manual I chose because it perfectly suited your law affinity." Tristan continued while knitting his brows. "According to what I know, usage of the Idle Freedom is only possible if you are at the second stage of the Law Manual. With your talent, you should be at the fifth stage at the bare minimum." Seo-yun replied. "That's true. However, utilizing Idle Freedoms requires a lot of compressed flux."

"Hm?" D'rogan was taken aback by the unexpected response. "You don't plan on resisting? " Tristan helplessly shook his head. " There's no way a wastrel such as myself could possibly compare to a great warrior such as yourself." D'rogan gleefully licked the corner of his lips. "In that case, I will mercifully grant you a painless death." "Wait—" the next words from Tristan brought D'rogan's advance to SB abrupt halt. " I do not need a painless death. Instead, I hope you would grant me a favor." "A favor? Fine.. your flesh won't be roasted following your demise.. that I can promise." Tristan's voice remained perfectly leveled while his outward expression failed to betray the dread he was feeling on the inside. "You may not know this but, my wife and I.. have only been married for less than a Virgil. " Tristan continued. " I hope you'd be magnanimous to give me a one Virgil window.. after that, you can do whatever you want with either me.. or her." D'rogan fell silent. Just w

  • Chapter 708

Dangling from the scalp of the male Kharan was a head full of ink black hair, weaved together into twin thick braids that hung freely over his shoulder. An obsidian colored undertunic hugged his muscular neck, largely hidden by a massive double-breasted deel made from dense, felted snow white iron-braid fabric with a wool-like texture. The robes shoulders were exaggeratedly broad and sharp, perfectly complimenting the Kharan's already imposing silhouette. Worn over the torso of the Kharan was a heavy lamellar vest of matte black chitinous scale plates that were flawlessly laced together. The pauldron of the Kharan that were locked across one of his upper arm was a massive plate of unknown metal that boasted of two slightly curved protusions. The wide belt that gripped his stomach, anchored split tassets. Made from a watered down and ragtad iron braid fabric, they flared out over his hips. His baggy trousers were also reinforced with knee pauldrons, ending with a pair of rigid knee

Two gazes shifted towards the one who had just barged into the slightly dark room— at the same, the candle wicks ignited with brilliant tongues of flames. "They.. They.." Ellie tried stringing together a coherent line of sentence amidst heavy pants. While Tristan appeared puzzled, a cold glint flashed across Seo-yun's expression. "They are back" Ellie nodded frantically. "The Shadow Smoke Horde returned!" ' The Shadow Smoke Horde? ' as soon as Tristan's ears registered those words, pure terror flashed across his eyes. "A Kharan Horde?" He shot Seo-yun a piercing look. "Why would a Kharan Horde— wait, don't tell me..!" Tristan desperately rejected the terrifying possibility that just crossed his mind. Unfortunately, Seo-yun's next words shattered his small hope. "That's right. We are currently at the western edge of Rozhou." As soon as Seo-yun dropped this massive nuke, she rose up to her feet. "Lead me to where they are." Even after both ladies left, Tristan remained r
