Everything changes

Owen signaled the guards to throw Logan out of the building, but just as he was leaving, he brushed past a middle-aged man who looked strikingly familiar and the man's invite card dropped.

"I'm sorry" Logan said, just before being escorted out.

Back at home, Logan started packing his things immediately. Even though he felt like killing Mel and Owen, he decided that it was not worth it. There was a silver lining to this, he could finally get away from her abusive family.

However, as he was still packing, his wife walked in and stood by the door

"I'm sorry about tonight", Logan heard her soft voice resonate in his ears and became infuriated.

However, he remained quiet and did not say anything

"You should understand why I had to do this," she said, trying to absolve herself of guilt

Again, Logan remained silent

"You can choose to hate me, that's okay", "Here," Mel said and tossed him a file.

Logan glanced at it and continued packing the clothes into his suitcase

"Inside that file, contains all the deeds of our house in RosePark. I want you to have it" Mel said, walked over, picked up the folder from the bed and handed it to him

"Please take it," Mel asked

"It's the least I can do" She added.

Logan hesitated at first, but then after a while, he grabbed the folder, pulled out the documents and confirmed the house deeds.

Although he could tell this was a mere effort for her to let go of her guilt, it was still pointless to say no. 

He shoved the papers back into the folder and without emotion, he said "Okay"

"Everything is now yours Logan, I'm making sure that you're not left with nothing out of this divorce as I'll be, so now please sign the divorce papers," Mel asked shamelessly 

Logan felt insulted for a moment, that she would think he cared about any of these assets as much as he did about their marriage, but overall, he felt even more pitiful for her.

With a deep breath, Logan stuffed the last of his belongings into the suitcase, turned and grabbed the divorce paper from her, walked over to the table and then signed it.

Just then, his in-laws rushed in as they overheard Mel giving Logan the house deeds.

"What are you doing Mel?" Her mother asked sternly

"I'm not going to let you give that loser the house. He doesn't deserve a single penny from us. What has he ever done except bring us shame, and you go ahead and give him the house?!" Her mother exclaimed, unhappy with the decisions her daughter made.

"Look at him!" She yelled

"Why should such a poor, useless and weak man get the house? We should kick him out, let him roam the streets as the pathetic and undeserving piece of shit that he is", she argued

"Do you not know what he did to you?" Eric jumped in

"This bastard cheated on you and you're rewarding him for that?!" He added and Mel was taken aback in shock

"What?!" She exclaimed shifting her gaze to Logan who remained unmoved, trying to withhold his anger from all the accusations and insults

"What is he talking about Logan?" Mel asked, approaching him slowly

"Oh, you didn't know? We caught this bastard sneaking into a hotel room with another woman", Janet added strengthening the accusations

"I didn't do it Mel" Logan defended. He didn't owe her any explanation, but still, he found himself offering one to clear his name, not that it mattered anymore now that she was marrying his boss.

At this point, Eric became irate and lunged a punch at Logan, who quickly evaded and with swift movement, kicked Eric to the ground. 

He threw the folder back on the bed, making up his mind at that moment that he didn't want anything that belonged to her, and then started walking towards the door.

"I didn't do it; I'd never do that to you" Logan repeated and walked out of the door leaving Mel and her mother shocked by the sudden change in his attitude.

Immediately Logan stormed out of the house, Mel turned and glared at her mother. She was more angry at the realization that Logan was no longer her husband, almost as if she regretted her decisions.

"Hope you are happy mom" Mel said coldly, walked out of the door and slammed it hard behind her.

Logan kept walking, searching his phone for the cheapest hotel he could book when suddenly a fleet of Rolls Royce's drove by and stopped in front of him. About ten men all dressed in black suits stepped out and started approaching him.

Immediately, Logan became filled with fear, his first thought being that his boss Owen had sent his guards to beat him up. He quickly readied himself in a fighting stance.

However, just then, a middle-aged man dressed in a dark grey suit with black hair stepped out of one of the Rolls Royce and walked up to him.

The men in the black suits all bowed to the man as he approached him, and in his mind he figured that was the boss.

He watched in anticipation as the man approached him,

"Finally, we've found you Young Master" the middle-aged man said, and curteously bowed to Logan

As the streetlight brought the man's face into view, Logan could recognize him, it was the same man that he had brushed past at the dinner night,

With a perplexed look on his face, Logan asked

"Who are you?" 

However, the man did not reply, he lifted his head and smirked, then marched towards his car, stopped at the door and said

"Come, we've waited a long time for your return"
