Brazen

Gregor walked inside the house with a raised shoulder as though he wanted to flirt with her using his authority, but what he did not know was that his handsomeness was not enough to win the heart of pretty Mia.

The nobles always act brazen in the presence of commoners, which Mia is disgusted at, because everyone is equal and needs to be treated equally. However, the world is becoming something else as long as your family is wealthy, you can walk into the street naked, and the commoner has no right to look away; instead, they are expected to clap their hands even if the d isn't even as big as a child's.

Gregor searched everywhere in the house twice, but he did not see any Ken. He left the house with a frown on his face, without even bothering to apologize to the person whose rights he had just violated.

Mia frowned, her eyes on the departing horses.

She was still looking at the horse when she heard the sound of a window opening in her house. She rushed toward the place the sound was coming from, which was Ken's room. When she got there, she saw Ken in a lotus sitting position, cultivating, with a calm look on his handsome visage.

"Don't worry about the smith." He assured her without even opening his eyes.

His reply was not what Mia sought; all she sought was an explanation; one of the strongest noble families was after her; and all Ken could say was that she didn't have to worry.

"What do you mean?" Don't worry; don't you know how strong the Smith family is? "They are ruthless and powerful; they have a photo of you, and all you can say is that it doesn't matter." Her face was filled with anger and fear, but even with those two emotions, her beauty was still glowing.

Ken opened his eyes and sighed.

"I'm a smith too."

"A smith? "Do you think it's easy to say something like that and go Scott free? How can you be from the Smith?"

"My name is Ken Smith; if that doesn't clear your curiosity, then I guess I'll have to make sure you don't speak of my identity to anyone forever." Ken was already up, his cold, emotionless eyes staring deeply into Mia, who was so afraid right now that her body trembled.

Ken took a step forward and Mia took a step backward. He took another step forward and she took another one backward. Both of them continued like this until Mia was pushed against the wall.

Ken brought his lips close to her ears and whispered, "You know what it means to shut someone up forever, don't you?"

Mia shivered; she nodded her head and placed her hand on her mouth to stop her from letting out any sound that might annoy Ken to the point of killing her.

"Phew, Mia, don't get it twisted; I won't kill you; you have to believe me when I say I'm a smith too; I guess this will prove to you why they're after me." Ken sighed and brought out an identification token that stated he was a smith.

Then he went ahead to show her the two-element affinity he had by manifesting a small flame in his hand, and then he conjured up a misty mass of dark energy.

Mia nodded her head; she believed him for what he said.

After learning why he was being chased, she decided to keep his identity a secret and help him in whatever way she could.

Two days quickly passed like the blinking of an eye. After these two days, Ken has been able to fill up his mana core with mana and would be breaking through the first level of the mana student realm anytime soon.

Mia has been kind as always; she did not even ask him for a dime after everything he has consumed in the house.

Ken was not used to eating free food; he helped her sometimes with stuff she didn't like, and last night he accompanied her to the graves of her parents.

Nevertheless, this does not mean he was friendly with her; he still kept his personality cold as usual.

Meanwhile, the Smith family has been upside down for the past few days after the beast raided their land and killed most of their normal family members as well as the young generation of mages.

Jack Smith was enraged, and as a high-ranking mage, he was able to tell that such a thing could not happen on its own. The only suspect in this case was Ken.

Inside the labyrinth, they were unable to find any trace of him, not even his bones, which only means that he has escaped along with the chaos.

Jack's son Eric was killed in this chaos, which made him even more enraged; if he knew about this earlier, he would have shattered the body of Ken when he had the chance.

But it was impossible to turn back the hands of time; all that was left was finding the brat called Ken if not he would keep seeking revenge on the Smith family for what they had done to him.

The heir to the smith family, Alexander, stood beside his father as a meeting was going on between his father and the key members of the smith family, who were all high-ranking mage and nobles in this kingdom known as the Great Ci kingdom.

"The two guardians were killed as well; all that we could say for their deaths is that they were killed by a demonic beast."

"Yeah, also the youngest master of the Smith family was killed as well amidst the chaos; this is very bad, the Smith family cannot be messed with easily, and we have to find that bastard as soon as possible before he becomes something else." One of the elderly men let out a laugh as he played with his moustache.

Jack sat at the far end of the table with his hands placed under his chin as he was contemplating what to do next.

"Alexander, what did Gregor say about his scout? Did he find any clue?" He asked Alexander without even looking at him.

"Nothing was found; his mana was traced to the house of a female commoner, and after searching the house severely, he still could not find a trace of him."

"Umm!" Jack sighed.

"I'll do the search next time; let's see if that brat will escape my grasp."
