Chapter Six

A black luxury car drove into the West's plaza and stopped at the parking lot.

Davide looked out of the window and saw that they had arrived at a grand plaza, adorned with towering skyscraper and opulent architectural designs.

"We are here." Zeta said as she turned off the engine of the car. "This is the headquarters of your family's business in the city."

The two stepped out of the car, and entered the plaza. Davide subconsciously studied the plaza in awe, his lips left opened.

The skin of his forehead tightened as his eyebrows remained raised. His eyes were wandering around.

As they walked towards the receptionist, Davide saw a familiar silhouette appeared.

He stared straight at the man, and a scoff escaped his lips.

It was Noah.

Davide thought, since Avery will no longer be part of his life, then he wasn't going to see Noah again, but he was wrong.

He tried to look away, but every step closer to the reception only made him glare at the man. He recalled how he treated him back at the hospital.

Davide drifted his gaze from the man, but then-

"Let's get to the reception." Zeta tells him.

A displeased grunt escaped his lips, he stopped in his tracks and gently rubbed his temple.

"Is there something wrong?" Zeta could see he was being unusual but Davide only nodded.

"I'm good." He forced a smile, and walked behind Zeta.

His gaze fell on the man, to his surprise, Noah was staring at him.

The annoying man perched on the receptionist desk. His right hand, stylishly deep in his pants.

Noah's eyes widened as he spotted Davide standing with a beautiful girl by his side.

His competitive nature kicked in, and he couldn't resist the urge to show off in front of the girl.

He strutted towards them with a confident swagger, determined to make his presence known.

Noah came to a stop in front of Davide, and his face contorted into a mock expression of anger. "Who gave you permission to enter?" he demanded, crossing his arms over his chest.

Davide furrowed his brow, taken aback by Noah's confrontational approach.

There was a wave of rage, coursing through his veins, his thumbs balled into fist.

Zeta could see how irritated Davide was by the man, she quickly stepped in, "Yes, it was me," she said calmly, looking Noah straight in the eye.

Noah's demeanor quickly shifted, and he turned towards the girl with a menacing glare. "You have no right to bring anyone in. Do you even know who the owner of this plaza is? You've already offended them," he said in a threatening tone.

Noah's expression darkened, and he took a step closer to Zeta, "This is not a place for uninvited guests, and you've crossed the line."

Zeta wasn't at all fazed by Noah's words, and in fact even marveled at his arrogance and entitlement.

Davide clenched his fists, feeling a surge of anger rising within him. He couldn't stand the way Noah was trying to intimidate them.

Davide decided to step in, unable to tolerate Noah's threats any longer. "Hold on, what would happen since we're here? And why can you be here?"

Noah's eyes flashed with annoyance at being challenged by Davide. "The owner of this plaza is not someone to be trifled with. I happen to know him, that's how I got in here, but you? You can't go in, else you'd end up dead."

A mockery smile escaped Zeta's lips, she tuck some strands of her hair behind her ears, as she listened to the man.

Davide's eyes sank, and his face turned extremely glum, "What do you mean? How do you know the owner?"

"Well, let's just say we have some history. But here's the deal. I can save you both from getting killed, but the only condition is that this beautiful girl here spends a night with me." Noah winked at the beautiful lady.

"No way!" Zeta exclaimed, her voice laced with fury.

Davide's eyes widened in shock at Noah's proposition. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. His fists clenched as he said in a deep threatening tone, "Absolutely not! "You have no right to make such demands."

There was a sudden glint of frustration in Noah's eyes, his arrogant smirk faltered, and he looked taken aback by Davide's strong stance.

"But, but..." he stammered, struggling to come up with a response.

Noah's face turned pale, and he trembled for a moment.

He never imagined that Davide who he walked all over at the hospital was challenging him.

Noah scoffed in amusement, and his gaze kept drifting between Davide and the beautiful lady, "Now tell me, how will you enter?"

Hearing Noah's words, Davide's eyes were stern and gloomy.

'Ridiculous! Simply absurd' Davide thought.

Zeta scoff filled the air as she took out her phone to call someone, but then-

A group of imposing-looking individuals emerged from the elevator. They were wearing suits and had a stern expression on their faces, exuding an air of authority.

Noah's eyes widened in fear as he saw the imposing individuals approaching. His arrogant smirk faded, and his body tensed up.

His voice trembled as he spoke, "N-now no one can help you. These are the board of directors, and they won't let you in." Noah's bravado was slowly crumbling.

Davide's expression remained stern, but a glimmer of satisfaction flickered in his eyes as he saw Noah's fear.

'Clown.' He thought.

Davide had no idea what was happening, but seeing Noah sweating and frightened, left a smile on his lips.

The board of directors approached, and their stern gazes fell upon Davide and Zeta, "Welcome Mr. West and Miss Zeta."

The directors lowered their heads respectfully.

Noah's heart surged with confusion. Blood rushed to his head and his expression kept changing.

Beads of sweat kept forming over his body as Noah wondered, 'what the hell s happening here? Why are the directors saluting Davide?'
