Chapter 2

“A prince?” I was echoing his words.

“Yes, I am a prince. So, please give me some respect.. a.. a muddy-ugly-woodsman.” He gave an order.

“Excuse me, Sir. What did you just call me?” My eyes widened with my hands crossed in front of my chest. “I don’t even know you, Mr. Pointy ears.”

A loud howling can be heard from my place. “Oh sh*t! What time is this?”

“What is that?” Myrdin asked me without knowing anything.

“It is a wolf, they are going to hunt right now.” I explained it fast while rolling my eyes.

“Werewolf?” Myrdin looked at me with an innocent look.

“No! It is just a wolf. A real wolf.” Annoyed. “Come on! We need to go!”

I took my lantern and led the way out of this forest. Myrdin followed me like a lost puppy until we arrived at my house. Open the door and let him in for his safety, before locking it again.

“Okay, just stay here for tonight if you don’t want to die.” I turned off the lantern and turned on the fireplace.

Closed all the windows before taking a towel and heading to the bathroom. “Stay here, do not touch anything!” I was warned.

“Sure.” Myrdin sat politely on a chair.

I cleaned up myself and changed into proper clothes. I walked to the small kitchen, chopped half chicken and cooked it for dinner. Myrdin stood up from his chair and sat in front of the fireplace. I looked at him while shaking my head.

“What are you doing?” I asked with a flat voice.

“Nothing.”

The pan in front of me was already boiled. I put vegetables inside, stirred it before turning off the stove, and served it. “Do you want to eat? I make chicken soup.”

Myrdin stood up and walked to the dining table. “Here!” I gave him a bowl and spoon.

Myrdin looked unfamiliar with mundane things, but I did not bother. Filled my bowl, sat, and ate while Myrdin was still quiet in his place. “It is not poisonous, so let’s eat!” I murmured.

“I need to go!” Myrdin stood up and left me.

“Wait!” Shouted and stopped him. “It is dangerous outside. You can leave tomorrow, but now please just stay here.”

Myrdin flipped his body and looked at me with his green eyes. “Why do you care? I don’t scared of anything. I just want to save my friend and my home.”

“But, you can get killed by the wolf. I swear!” Beg me.

Myrdin opened the window and jumped. I ran and stopped at the window while looking at him. “I already warned him,” mumbled before pulling back my window.

I went back to the dinner table and started to eat my food. Not even a minute, someone was knocking on my front door. I jumped from my chair while cursing, “Sh*t!”

“Who are you!” I shouted while standing up from my place.

“Help! Help!” Someone screamed from outside.

Opened up the door and someone with bright long hair threw his body into me. We both fell backwards and my back hit the floor hard. “What the -”

He stood up fast before turning his head and closed the door as fast as he could. The howling hit my door and I started to panic. I was looking at Myrdin sharply, “Help! They are running after me!”

We hold back the door to keep the pack of wolves coming in. Their howling, steps, and whiffs made my skin shiver. “I told you!” I bluffed to Myrdin.

“I don’t know they are different from what I know.” Myrdin tried to make an excuse.

Minutes later, the wolf didn't leave my house. “Don’t you know how to cast them out?”

“Wait, I need to think!” I felt angry for him. “It is all your vault. They won’t come if you don't run outside!”

“I told you, I don’t know!” Myrdin looked angry too.

We fought and argued until we forgot to hold back the door. A second later, the wolf started to surround us with their sharp teeth and ready to eat. We could not run away now, we were trapped.

“We are dead!” Whispered me to Myrdin.

“WHAT?!” Myrdin could not believe what I said.

“We cannot run away from them.”

We held our back together while moving around and stayed on guard. I saw my fireplace still on and I had an idea, “We need to take those fires.”

“Okay, got it!” Myrdin answered without hesitation. “I will distract them, you go take those fires.”

“Hmm,” humming and nodding.

Myrdin took something from his clothes and called the wolf. They looked at it and started to follow Myrdin. I was lowering my body, crawling, and took firewood from the fireplace. I made two fires, “Hey Wolf! Go away!” I walked step by step and it made the wolves run away.

“Come here!” I took Myrdin’s hand and saved him.

“Thank you!” He said with a straight face.
