Jack stood there on the dock, rain soaking his coat, his heart pounding from the chase.

He looked at Mike, who gripped his grazed arm with blood streaming through his fingers.

The name hung in the air like a bad smell, making Jack's scar itch under the cold night wind.

Jack took Mike his unharmed arm and pulled him in the direction of the truck.

Mike winced but did not pull away, his face pale from the pain.

The door slammed shut behind them as they entered.

Jack started the engine, his hands steady but his mind racing with old doubts.

Back at the Vault, Jack locked every door with a loud click.

He called all the soldiers into the main room, their boots resonating on the concrete floor.

Mike sat on a bench, wrapping his arm with a dirty cloth.

Jack's eyes scanned each face, looking for any sign of dishonesty.

Mike looked up, his brown eyes meeting Jack's blue ones. "It's not me, boss. I swear on the brothers we lost, on the battlefield we fought together.

We're relatives, and you know me from the muck and the gunfire."

Memories flashed like bullets, pulling Jack in his chest.

He remembered the old battle, with Mike and him standing side by side in a trench with their faces covered in dirt.

Mike had taken a bullet for him once, smiling through the pain.

Jack's throat tightened for a moment as the memory struck him hard.

Darius laughed from his cell nearby, the sound like nails on metal.

He leaned against the bars, his gray hair hanging in his eyes. "You think Mike is clean? For your information, Alex is running away now, with my cash in his pockets."

Jack turned to Darius, his fists clenched tight. The room fell silent as the man spoke.

Jack grabbed the bars, his knuckles white.

"Where is Alex?”

Darius smiled, blood on his teeth from the earlier fight. "Running away like a rat. He knows about Emily's real dad—my brother, the one I faked his death during the war. Find Alex, find the truth.”

Jack let go of the bars and walked out fast. He got into a car, the engine roaring to life.

Mike jumped in the passenger seat, ignoring his injured arm.

They sped onto FDR Drive, following the signal from Alex's phone.

Cars honked as Jack weaved through traffic. The road became slick due to the rain.

Mike's face twisted in pain as he grasped his arm.

They spotted Alex's car ahead, swerving like he knew they were coming.

Jack pushed the gas pedal down hard. The car shot forward.

Alex tried to exit the road, but Jack cut him off. The chase went on, tires squealing in the wet.

Alex's car spun on a puddle and hit a guardrail. Smoke came from the hood.

Jack stopped his car and got out, gun in hand.

Mike followed, ready as usual.

They found Alex in a rainy alley, hiding behind trash cans.

When he saw Jack, he raised his hands. "Please, don't shoot! I only took the cash to run!"

Jack grabbed Alex by the shirt and pulled him up. His face was close to his, eyes full of anger.

Alex's blond hair stuck to his forehead. He begged, his voice shaking like a leaf.

Jack's grip tightened. A wave of heat surged through his chest.

Alex's eyes darted left and right. Jack pushed him against the wall.

Mike handed Jack a phone. "Make him talk about his crime online."

Jack forced Alex to hold the phone. Alex's hands shook as he started the live video.

Alex confessed on the screen. His voice broke.

The Hart stock numbers on the other dropped fast on the app.

People who are watching Alex confess at home gasped.

Jack dropped Alex to the floor after the live confession was over.

His face was red with shame as Mike cuffed him.

The alley felt colder now.

They began to drive back to the vault, but a van cornered them.

Men in fake Legion uniforms jumped out and started shooting.

Jack swerved the car.

Bullets hit the side and Jack jumped out and fired back. One of the men fell.

While Mike fired from the passenger seat.

Outnumbered, the fake soldiers fled but planted a tracker on the car.

Jack did notice. They chased the fake legion van to Wall Street.

The night felt like a trap.

At the empty office, the doors were locked.

Jack kicked it open.

Inside, some men waited with army tech. Drone buzzing silently like a bee.

The fight started fast. Jack dove behind a desk.

Bullets chipped wood as the men shot at him.

Mike on the other hand launched a drone into the sky.

Jack grabbed one of the men and punched him hard.

The man fell, gasping. Jack took his tech pad.

The pad showed stolen army drones. Darius's work.

Jack smashed it and the room suddenly filled with smoke from a grenade.

Jack barely escaped through a window before the explosion. Glass cutting his arm.

He landed on the fire stairs. Mike, who was already there, pulled him up.

They ran towards the car. That was when Jack noticed the tracker blinking red under the wheel.

Jack ripped it off. His face dark with anger.

Back at the Vault, a guard took a bribe. He opened Darius's cell.

Darius escaped quietly and he left a video on the table.

The video started to play. The screen was filled with Darius's face. His voice taunted.

Jack arrived at the vault and watched the video playing. His hands shook with anger.

The room went silent.

No one breathed.
