After receiving the punch from Ethan, George wasn't even able to form a barrier or shield around his body before he crashed into a wall and had rubble fall on him.
Thankfully though, his physique was pretty strong, so he didn't feel any damage,not even a scratch!
If it had been any other person like a normal human maybe,even an ICU wouldn't be able to save them.
He was about to stand up to leave the rubble when he felt a weight press on him—not a physical weight but rather a mental weight.
“I was beaten back in one punch from that monster? No!"
Instantly his face turned black as he thought about what happened.
He,a ruler of mortals was beaten by a puny,filthy monster.
Unacceptable!
Although it was just less than a week into the apocalypse and his awakening,George was already so mired in his delusions that he was a deity now that he was unable to accept that fact that he was beaten.
“How dare he, argh!"
" I am a king,an emperor and yet that disgusting monster had the guts to touch me. The penalty is death!"
Clenching his fist,the temperature around him started to become higher and higher and soon the rocks around him started to melt!
He however,didn't stop as he continued to channel power from his core and soon his body started becoming red.
“Argh!"
Raising his head up he gave out a beast like roar while all the energy he had accumulated earlier burst forth.
BOOM
Bit was like detonating a truckload of that, as all the rubble on him were blasted flying from the sheer force of the energy explosion.
“Take cover!"
The soldiers that were in charge of evacuating the civilians immediately gave the order to take cover. However it wasn't needed as the had already done the needful themselves.
The blasted rocks stared falling back down while everyone—Ethan included peered through the dust hoping to catch a view of George.
“Was he injured?”
Ethan thought to himself before shaking his head immediately.
“No that can't be it.”
Considering how massive the energy surge just now was,there was no way he was injured. If he was not mistaken,he should probably be stronger right now.
“But regardless of how strong he is,I'll still claim his head!”
Clenching his scaled hands,Ethan gritted his teeth—sorry fangs as he stared at George's position waiting to see him.
“Hick!"
" What the hell!”
Right then the dust cleared up and to say that everyone's mouth was in the floor was an understatement.
A flaming humanoid figure was floating in the air. All the parts of his body were covered in flames,from his eyes to his mouth!
You puny monster,how dare you touch this king!”
“It really is George!"
“Boss is still alive!"
“Hey mind what you say!”
"Yes, yes!”
Hearing the voice coming from the flaming figure,Ethan didn't need to even think before knowing that it was George. However,his current appearance was worlds apart from his precious one. To be honest,he felt a sense of dread from the new looking George but he quickly hid it while baring his fangs at George.
“Oh, so you got annoyed because I kicked your ass,I tell you,I'll do it again and this time I'll even take your life!"
Hearing Ethan talk about his humiliating defeat earlier was like stabbing him with a knife. With a black face he replied.
“We'll see about that!"
BOOM!
Ethan was also about to throw back his own reply when he saw that George had already dissapeared. By the time he saw him,he had already closed the short distance between them.
“Take this!"
WHOOSH
A flaming fist flew head-on towards him,it's direction his head! It was too fast and he would not be able to dodge,but then he suddenly felt a force swivel him around causing the punch to lightly graze the scales on his cheeks before continuing on to the ground.
BAM!
Shatter, shatter, shatter.
The poor concrete floor quickly gave way due to the force behind that punch and became a huge crater. Looking at the flaming figure inside that crater,Ethan unconsciously swallowed some saliva.
“If that punch hit me head on…”
Gulp!
He couldn't even begin to imagine what the outcome would be. He surely wouldn't die but getting knocked out was a possibility.
“And then,that force..where did it come from?”
Right when he was about to receive the full brunt of the punch something g changed his direction, instantly, he looked behind him and there it was—a huge tail!
What! A tail was the only thing he could think of. At this point,if he grew horns he wouldn't be dazed as long as he was able to kill this bastard in front of him.
Without wasting time observing the new appendage,he rushed towards George with surging confidence.
“Hmmmm!”
To be honest George was surprised to see Ethan dodge his blow,he soon saw the reason though,a tail which he probably used as leverage.
"He is becoming more and more of a monster! I have to end him fast!”
And thus without wasting time they both clashed again and again. Soon the whole concrete ground of the apartment’s ground floor was getting destroyed.
BANG BANG BANG!
Swoosh swoosh swoosh
Shattered rocks and dust were flying around,the heat emanating from the place was also intense so much that the air was warping!
Even the monster that were usually attracted d to sou didn’t dare to come here.
After a while,both sides separated revealing their battered figures. Flaming George already had his flames dimmed a little while Ethan was missing some scales on his knuckles.
“Huff, huff, huff!”
Chest rising heavily,Ethan glared at George with a hint of anger in his eyes. George on the other hand was smirking at him.
The reason was very simple!
While they were both looking equally battered,Ethan had it more rough as evident in the scales he had lost. The flames on George on the other hand were already becoming brighter.
“Haha, haha, hahahaha!"
Hearing George laughing like a maniac, Ethan's face scrunched up immediately.
“Shut up!"
You're going to die now kiddo,do t you want to know why I'm targeting you,why I killed your beloved friends?!"
Instantly,a bone chilling breeze rushed past their battle ground. Despite the hot flames still burning,the cold could still be felt even by those far away in the military truck.
“Why is
it so cold all of a sudden?”
“Yeah!"
However,Ethan wasn't even aware of this as he asked with a dangerous look.

Afternoon. The time of the day when the sun was at its peak. Due to the special geography of Barnes city and it's environs it received a lot of sun daily. The highest temperature recorded in the day had once reached a staggering 41 degrees Celsius! While today's temperature wasn't that high it was still hot enough to cause one to sweat bullets. On the highway leading out of Barnes city,a truck could be seen rushing past the buildings . There was a black motorcycle in the back while four people consisting of three men and a lady sat surrounding it. Inside the truck there were two men,one driving while the other was well not really doing anything bringing the total to six. Suddenly from one of the abandoned houses on the side of the road a tiger like monster suddenly jumped out with the intention of ambushing the truck. However,before it could even step on the asphalt,there was a bang and it fell on the spot having received a bullet to the head. “Here this should be the place right? Looks like a nice spot.” Followed by the rumbling sounds of an engine dying off a black a motorcycle stopped at the entrance of the Freetown convienence store. On a free express highway a dumb looking monster that looked like an dodo but with four legs stood in one of the bushes by the side of the road while glaring at its own reflection in a puddle of water. Today was the fourth day since it had last eaten and right now it was not an exaggeration to say that it could eat anything.
