Chapter 6.

Steve sat in his room as he stared at his reflection in the mirror, he rubbed the scar by his cheek and smirked at it. He jolted from his seat and opened his closet, there a man wrapped up like a mummy fell down and writhe for safety, he was finding it hard to breathe and Steve picked a gun which laid on the bed, tore the bandage that covered this man's face and showed him a picture. This man had been locked up in the closet until he got it opened.

"Who are you!!" The victim yelled terrified that he was going to lose his life in the hands of this man with a scar. Steve didn't give him a reply rather he took a cigarette to lit as he was getting more angerier to why this man wasn't giving a respond to the picture he showed him.

"Remember?" He snarled while kicking this man hard who growled in pain.

"Help!!!" He yelled crying as his body was aching but Steve continued kicking and punching him until he bleed.

"Speak up!" Steve ordered placing his foot on the man's belly while pointing the gun at his forehead. The victim shivered while yelping in pains.

"I'm innocent" he cried in a faint voice and collasped. Steve sighed sharply as he could hear music playing from his balcony, he hide the gun and took a packet of cigarettes to feel the air before furthering from where he stopped on this unconscious man. Once he stepped his feet outside, he found a girl dancing and also performing yoga, she was an exception of beauty as her long hair sweep across her face, her brown eyes stared innocently and her radiant skin glowed under the sun light, her hands swinged like an angel descending to find a sinner like him, his other hand goaded his arouse dick while shoving his face away from her and swallowing hard. She suddenly coughed and stopped what she was doing, certainly she must have noticed him staring and the smoke coming out of his nostrils was disturbing.

"You sure know it's harmful for your health right" she cautioned in a tenor and he scoffed.

"Aren't you meant to be in school?" He mused taking another cigarette from the packet.

"I'm a therapist" she declared switching off the music and prodding towards him. He had a stern look that seemed scary that one could hardly confront him.

"Stop that, life is too short" she snapped referring to the cigarettes but he still smoked further wondering she was acting all demanding when they just met.

"There's nothing to live for" he responded stepping back as she walked forward.

"You must be the Steve" she suddenly said and his response was;

"Wow, I'm a celebrity over here".

This woman scrutinized him and could see he appeared daring but there was something about him one was yet to discover. She could tell he was a playboy with that handsome and commanding face that could make any girl fall for him. Those eyes he used on her were lustful and potrays one who was a womanizer but controls his desires before it gets a hold of him, his scar wasn't deep as it made him seem like terror itself.

"Are you done?" He suddenly muttered and she blinked her eyes as he had poured the smoke from his mouth on her. He presumes she was digging deep into who he was with those probing eyes of her.

"I think you need help with your lifestyle" she said coughing as she pulled the cigarette from his mouth, indeed she was more daring than she appears to be and to him too, does she know who she was misbehaving to?

"Stay away from me" he warned glaring at her as he returned suddenly to his room. She stared at his door with a weary gaze and sighed.

Most occupants in this building were unaware of the strange happenings within the apartment, for Ethan, he locked himself inside while trying to connect to the cops but there was no network. He switched on his television to listen carefully if the press might make mention of anything strange. The television deferred but after a while, a journalist appeared as her hands were shaking.

"Run!!! Something terrible is happening in the country and the government...". He gasped as the television went blank yet again. He tried to stay calm but couldn't as the words which the journalist had said flooded his memory. He rushed to the window and suddenly saw the sun sinking gradually while birds flew around for safety. Ethan summoned courage to go outside and survey the condition but he heard a loud bang on his door. It was banging really loud as though wanting to break in, in a hast, he took his pack bag and climbed down from his window knowing that his life was in danger as screeching sound echoed. The door broke as he shuddered at what his eyes saw at a distance and had to duck his head to avoid been hit by the alien who he described it as. His legs were on the top rail which was narrow and any step back would make him fall down from that great height. The alien prodded at him with rage as Ethan inhaled, as this alien stretched it's hands to get a grip of him but Ethan jumped down immediately and slide underneath this alien whose legs were opened. The alien swiveled around and found Ethan rushing back into his room as it chased after him. Ethan had managed to get out of his room as he banged on every door for help but none was responding. Luckily, the alien wasn't after him anymore perhaps it had caught sight of something else. His heart race while running upstairs if anyone could hear him out. He suddenly stopped moving when he heard cries coming out from a corner of the stairs he mounted. Steadily, he paced towards there alert over what it might turn out to be but he found two children crying and shivering. The elder who was a girl of 10 years glancing at him and muttered;

"Help" just immediately she said that, they heard a loud growl and someone sniffing loud.

"Shush...I will protect you okay?" He assured even though he was more petrified than they were. It haven't been a minute when he uttered those words that loud footsteps were heard.

They could see a scary leg coming downstairs and growling, it was a monster, whose forehead was cut off, he couldn't see but fast in detecting sounds and could smell. The little boy was shaking gravely from fear but Ethan held his mouth tightly. Once the monster had left them, he backed the little boy and held the girl's hand to run away to anywhere which could appear more safer than where they were.
