Unveiling Shadows

The Trial Begins

Ruth said goodbye to her friend in the prison cell as her trial was about to start. Her legs and hands were bound with chains, and she was escorted by six bodyguards. She walked slowly in her red prison dress, her hair well taken care of. Everyone was seated on their chairs, their eyes fixed on Ruth as the judgment began. Donald, sitting in a wheelchair, looked like a half-dead and living person, unable to move or speak.

Ruth stared at him with anger, and Donald's eyes moved slightly, showing that he understood what was being said but couldn't respond. Ruth had the best lawyer in the country, a white man named Morris Canedy.

"On the sixth of July 2000, a couple was attacked on their honeymoon. A woman was raped by masked men, and her daughter has come forward to reopen the case. She has proof that a man named Donald was involved," Morris Canedy stated.

The Hearing

At the hearing of Ruth's case, the Deputy Chief Justice, Mr. Justice Luka, was a member of the panel. He addressed the courtroom, "In this case, the accused, Mr. Donald, has committed numerous crimes, and two people are lined up to prove that he did what he was accused of doing. Ruth is the first person to sue Mr. Donald for raping her mother before she was born. Her mother died eleven years ago, and the case has been reopened by the daughter and her adopted brother. Since Mr. Donald cannot defend himself, we are going to judge him based on the evidence. Let the case begin."

The lawyer presented a recording as evidence. Ruth's heart raced as the chilling words played, "Naive little bitch," he sneered, his eyes burning with rage. "I raped your mother years ago because I was in love with her, but your stupid dad took her from me." The words hung in the air, heavy with the weight of a dark secret that had been buried for far too long.

Unveiling the Truth

"James, Ruth's father, had been a young man deeply in love when he married Jane, an innocent girl from his school. Their honeymoon was meant to be a time of joy and celebration, but fate had other plans. In the dead of night, a masked man and his goons attacked them, shattering their dreams and leaving them broken," Morris Canedy explained.

"Jane had been violated, her innocence stolen in the cruelest way imaginable. Devastated by the trauma, James and Jane made the difficult decision to run away, hoping to escape the haunting memories that plagued them. It was during this time that Jane discovered she was pregnant," the lawyer continued.

The lawyer presented DNA evidence that proved Ruth was not Donald's daughter. "According to the evidence provided, Mr. Donald, you are charged with rape. Therefore, I sentence you to twenty years in prison," the Chief Justice declared, banging the hammer on the table.

The Next Case

Donald was ordered to be present at the next case with Ruth's brother, Alex. "The next case is a murder case, brought by Alex against the accused, Mr. Donald," the judge announced. The courtroom buzzed with anticipation as old cases were reopened by their children, and Mr. Donald was involved in all of them.

Ruth returned to her cell, where her friends were waiting for her. Dorothy asked, "So when is your next case with Mr. Donald?" Ruth replied, "In a week's time. I have already opened the murder case. Today, Alex is getting his real freedom, and his parents are getting justice. I will get justice too, soon."

The Final Battle

The day of the trial arrived sooner than expected. Mr. Donald was brought to court, unable to defend himself. Ruth and Alex had brought him to gain their freedom and expose Donald's crimes to the world.

"We are gathered here today for the reopening of the case of Mr. and Mrs. Smith's death, leaving only their son, Alex Smith. It is believed that Alex's parents were killed by Mr. Donald. Since Mr. Donald cannot defend himself, we are looking to Mr. Alex's lawyer to provide evidence of Mr. Donald's involvement in the murder of Alex's parents," the judge stated.

The lawyer presented a video that showed the attack on the Smiths' home. Another piece of evidence was provided, a contract between Don and Donald, proving that Donald had orchestrated the murder and kidnapping of Alex.

The truth unfolded, revealing that Mr. Don had been killed five years ago, and his daughter was in prison for drugs. Donald was found guilty of the murder of Mr. and Mrs. Smith and the kidnapping of Alex. He was sentenced to twenty-five years in prison.

Freedom and Redemption

Ruth sat in her prison cell, her mind filled with memories. She had fought for her brother's freedom and managed to save him from the clutches of Mr. Donald. Alex was now a free citizen, having not stolen anything for four years. Ruth's sacrifice had been worth it.

As Ruth reflected on her journey, she knew that justice had been served. She had fought for the truth, even at the cost of her own freedom. Now, she awaited her own redemption, knowing that one day, justice would prevail for her as well.
