“Leave that!”

Commanded a lady in a red silk dinner dress holding a cup of glass wine as she gave a smile and turned her face away to the young man serving drink round the tables.

“Sebastian!” she called, authority filled in her voice. “Get this cleaned up!”

she commanded as everyone stared at the young man who stood staring at her before making to leave.

“Don't stare at my granddaughter in that manner. Don't you have some shame? If you can't provide anything to the table, at least give yourself some honor by getting that dirt cleaned immediately.”

Grandma Hailey scolded in a very irritating manner.

“How would he know that mother, such a wretched man? He is so shameless.”

Mrs. Cherry chipped in, staring daggers at the young man who had nothing to say to them rather than bury his face in shame.

“I will go get the bucket and the mop.”

Sebastian said and bowed before leaving.

“He should hurry up, more guest are tripping in.”

Karen, who had commanded him earlier to clean the dirt, said as she made to take a seat but was stopped by her step-sister Carissa.

“We have more maids and servants in the house to do that. Why always Sebastian? Is he a servant?”

“Sebastian? What is Sebastian? Ohh! Someone is actually, fighting for her fugitive husband. Listen, Carissa,if you don't wisely choose the choice of your words, you might end up a fugitive with him.”

Karen, warned.

“Sebastian, was supposed to be your husband. But anyway, he is the son-in-law of this house. Of the Marcus family.” Carissa, pressed more.

“Jeez! Don't let me start it with you! I would tell you your place if you don't stay off my games.” she said, a bit upset.

“Games?such is Ga...”

“We need to call mother so, she explains to you what an ideal son-in-law is.”

Karen, interrupted her speech and Just then, Mrs. Cherry walked in their cycle.

“Why the long face, my darling Karen?”

“Sebastian has become a bone of contention in this house.”

Karen, stated and Mrs. Cherry frowned at the mention of his name. Looking around, she saw Sebastian, with the mop and bucket climbing down the stairs.

“That Sebastian?” she asked, more irritated.

“Don't worry, I will do that just relax.” Carissa, immediately walked to him, asking for the bucket.

“It's okay. I will handle it.”

He declined and just then, Mrs. Cherry walked towards him, landing a slap on his left cheek twice. And that drew the attention of everyone.

“What are you Sebastian?  Did you want to ruin the reputation of this family? Do you know how hard it was to reach this height in wealth and fame?”

Mrs. Cherry asked highly annoyed and the annoyance can be noticed.

“I'm sorry, ma'am, if I have caused any trouble here today.”

 He humbly apologized.

“What have you not done, you wretched boy?”

Asked grandma Hailey, sitting at her position with hands on her cheek. Staring bitterly at Sebastian.

“Mother!” Carissa, called  but was shut up by Mrs. Cherry.

“Not a word from you Carissa. Does it take ages to clean up the dirty floor? No. But because you are such a lazy bone, it's taking you years to do. That is why you can never be considered the son-in-law of this family.”

Mrs. Cherry spat and Sebastian gazed at her. It isn't like he was given the woman he wanted.

“I was duped by you all. You gave me Carissa instead of Karen. I wasn't happy for it.”

Sebastyn spoke and a man at the back burst into laughter.

“What did the boy say again?” asked grandma Hailey in mockery.

“ He speaks like an imbecile.”

The man who laughed from behind said moving forward.

“You can't take care of my Karen, she isn't your class, you are too down to have her Sebastian. You can't afford a soap for yourself, how would you make her a comfortable mansion and let her leave a luxurious life? I don't want you spitting that trash ever.”

 She warned daringly.

“Mother, that's so harsh.” Carissa said.

“Every son-in-law is worthy of it. You are just some orphan boy who roam around the street, and you think you can badge into this mansion and claim my darling Karen? I warn you Sebastian, be grateful of the shelter and leftover meal we feed you in this house because, you ain't even worthy of it. Asshole”.

“I apologize. I will know my place from now on. But, may I request a favor?”

He said, and all eyes again stared at him. He should feel embarrassed but he doesn't care, it isn't like this is the first humiliation he is getting from the Marcus family.

“He is so shameless.”

The young man said, holding on to Karen, and that annoys Sebastian the most.

“What is your request, dumb brain?” asked Karen.

“I am so unwell, I haven't eaten either, may I request for some money to get medications? I need to eat and have some rest as well.”

“Money? You are asking for money? Don't we pay you in this house? I remember when Karen, offered to pay you a $5, but you declined because of your foolishness. I'm afraid Sebastian, you ain't getting either of these until you are done with your service in this party.”

Mrs. Cherry sneered and walked away.

“What effrontery of his. The Marcus are having its business and family anniversary, and you choose to stoop so low to this level? Don't you have any shame? You didn't get a gift, neither a penny, but you are asking for a favor.”
