Episode 1 : Javad De Venta

The rain makes the weather cold and cool, waking Javad de Venta from his slumber. The man fluttered his gray eyes open to see he was sleeping at the edge of the king-size bed.

He turns slightly to see his wife, County Felton fast asleep. She has taken all the bed coverlets to herself.

The man groans softly as he makes to drape the coverlet over himself too.

His actions woke up County and she took no time before ranting, as always.

She pushed him away as though he is something extremely irritable.

" Get the hell away from me you useless bloke. Did you try to force yourself on me while I was sleeping? "

" County calm down. I was only trying to cover myself and ... "

" Get the hell out you liar! " She whispers tightly. " There is no way we will be consummating our three years of marriage tonight. I told you that already "

" I am... "

" Get out. Sleep on the couch or the marble tile. You can go out in the rain for all I care. I regretted the day I met you "

The man gritted his teeth and his already basalt jaw squared the more.

" I am sorry " He apologized softly as usual and then he stood up from the bed.

Javad headed out to the living room in sorrow. His heart sank in agony.

Three years ago he had loved the beautiful County Felton and never had he hesitated to marry her.

Then, he was still working as a doctor in a small clinic but things take a drastic turn when his boss was branded a criminal and his license was taken away.

He had to move out of his home to become a lived-in son-in-law to the Felton family.

County's mother and sister, Lara and Leah respectively have made his life a living hell.

His wife also was not excluded from this. Her love for him turns to deep hatred after he lost his job and becomes penniless.

Javad walks into the living room and made to sleep on the couch but then he stop.

That was when he passed the window and caught the sight of a car just outside the Felton gate.

The headlights were still on and Javad recognized the man behind the wheel even though it was only the silhouette he sighted.

Slowly he gritted his teeth and marched outside. The rain flopped down on him, wetting his pajamas.

When he gets to the car he opened the door and sit beside the handsome man with long hair.

" I told you not to come back, Cassius. I told you it's dangerous for... "

" Your uncle is Dead Boss " Cassius cut in softly. " Sebastian Rodrigo put a bullet in his skull "

This news makes Javad shivers slightly. His heart dropped to his tummy and he pinned his gaze on Cassius.

" Boss you have to come back. It's been ten years and... "

" Don't call me that. I can't come back " He mutters softly as he looks away. " I can't "

" You are the last descendants of the De Venta clan. Your people are suffering. You can't continue to run forever "

" For goodness sake Cassius! " Javad retorted hotly. " I am blind "

" It's just an allergy. You can see with your gray eyes "

" Blurry vision "

" Not always "

" I couldn't save my father. How will I save thousands of De Venta clans? "

" That was ten years ago and your dad died to save you. He took a bullet for you boss. He is your father. Why would you continue to blame yourself? " Cassius replied rather frustratedly.

" Cassius I stand no chance against the Rodrigo's clan. I have no power. Nothing. I am nothing like my father. Once I return my people will be in danger and I won't be able to save them "

" We have the men. Thousands of people are at your beck and call. It's your destiny to be the Boss of de Venta clan "

" And I said I won't be. I can't hold a gun anymore Cassius. Just because I have the blood of my father running through my veins doesn't make me a hero. I am useless "

Silence fell between the two. Javad thinks about his good uncle while Cassius thinks about how to persuade the adamant man beside him.

" I know you are doing this because of your wife "

" Cassius we are not going there "

" She didn't love you. She cheated. I try telling you but you won't... "

" Cassius! " He yelled out angrily. " It's my wife we are talking about. You watch your mouth. She would have been your godmother if we are home "

" But we are not home, are we? "

Another silence stretched and they glare at each other. At last, Cassius looks away to respect the boss.

He let out a sigh of frustration and shook his head.

" Javad I came here as a friend, your childhood friend not as your consigliere. We need you back.

" What happened ten years ago is no one's fault. No one blames you for that.

" The throne is vacant now. It's the right time for you to make a comeback. Please "

The soft words from Cassius silence Javad and put him in deep thought. He lowered his head as his mind went Miles away.

Abruptly his eyes fell on the ring around his finger and he gulped down hard.

" County will be in danger if I return "

" Boss you... "

" Goodbye Cassius. I can't do this anymore "

Javad made to alight but then Cassius quickly said.

" Sebastian Rodrigo will be made the boss in three days. He plans to chase away the remaining De Venta clan out of de Venta fort.

" Miran and Jade will be sent to his Harem. Tomorrow evening by 5 o'clock on the dot I will be at the De Venta plaza.

" If you change your mind then come. You will find me there. I won't return after this Javad. So long " He said indifferently.

Slowly Javad alighted. His steps were heavy when he marched forward. He goes into the house and leans over the door for some time.

Miran and Jade were his favorites. Miran is his betrothed while Jade is his foster sister.

He wished to save them but he can't. Just as his wife, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law had said, he sees himself as useless.

He was still pounding on this matter when he heard the car of Cassius driving away.

Loneliness replaced the agony in his heart and he returns to the couch. He was about to sit on it when he heard some struggling from the bedroom.

He rushes immediately to see his wife out of bed and throwing up.

He was surprised at this and he made to help her, naturally but county only shove him back as she returns to the bed.

" County what happened to you? Are you alright? "

" Get out. There is nothing you can do to help anyway " She said disdainfully and Javad blink rapidly.

" You forget that I was once a doctor "

" Get out. Don't piss me off the more "

He decided to obey her. Lest she started yelling and ended up waking the whole house.

Before Javad completely exited the room he caught his wife caressing her belly.

This action brought a dark thought to his heart but he quickly shook his head.

" County can't get pregnant. We never lay together in three years " He said as a consolation to himself while he goes to the couch and wait for morning.
