A lone figure burst through the drifting haze.

"Li Tian!"

Her voice echoed across Heaven's Ruin Gorge.

Li Tian's body trembled.

"...Xinyi?"

She ran toward him, her white robes fluttering behind her. Dust clung to the hem, and tears blurred her eyes as she searched desperately for his face. Around her, thousands of Heavenly Accord disciples stood frozen, watching in silence.

Li Tian forced himself to stand. His shattered leg buckled beneath him, and blood poured from his wounds.

"Go!" he shouted hoarsely. "It's a trap! Get away from here!"

She didn't slow down.

"I won't leave you!"

The words struck him harder than any technique.

A moment later, she crashed into his arms.

Li Tian froze.

For a heartbeat, the battlefield disappeared.

His bloodstained hands trembled as they slowly wrapped around her. He closed his eyes, letting out a shaky breath he didn't realize he'd been holding.

"I thought..." His voice broke into a weak laugh. "I thought I'd lost you."

He rested his forehead against hers.

"You came back."

She reached up and gently touched his face.

"You're hurt..."

Li Tian smiled.

Then the dagger entered his stomach.

A sharp pain tore through his abdomen.

His eyes widened.

A slender dagger protruded from his stomach.

"...Xinyi?"

His voice was barely audible.

Cold spread from the blade with terrifying speed. Frost raced through his meridians, freezing his blood and spiritual energy.

Xinyi slowly raised her head.

The tears were gone.

So were the sobs.

Her beautiful face held nothing but cold indifference.

"You are always trusted too easily."

She twisted the dagger.

"Frost Requiem... Shatter Twist."

CRACK!

Li Tian heard his spiritual core fracture.

Pain unlike anything he had ever known exploded through his body.

He dropped to one knee, coughing blood onto the frozen earth.

Heavy footsteps echoed behind Xinyi.

Crunch.

Crunch.

Crunch.

Mo Yun stopped beside her.

Without sparing Li Tian a glance, he gently brushed a streak of blood from Xinyi's cheek before slipping an arm around her waist.

She leaned into him naturally.

Li Tian stared at them.

His breathing stopped.

"...You..."

Mo Yun finally looked at him.

A cold smile crossed his face.

"You finally understand."

Every memory shattered inside Li Tian's mind.

The years they had spent training together.

The promises they had made.

The woman he had loved.

All of it had been a lie.

"Why...?"

His voice trembled.

Mo Yun looked down at him with unconcealed contempt.

"You were nothing but a stray our master pitied. Yet you surpassed me in everything. The sect praised you. The legacy chose you."

He tightened his arm around Xinyi.

"And even she chose you."

Xinyi shook her head.

"I chose strength."

Her eyes held no warmth.

"You hid me away in a lonely cabin while he offered me the future I deserved."

Li Tian lowered his head.

Blood dripped steadily onto the cracked stone.

"So..."

A weak laugh escaped him.

It grew louder and louder still Until it echoed across the entire valley.

"I don't understand..."His voice was barely a whisper.

"What did I do wrong?"

He looked from Mo Yun... to Xinyi... to the thousands of disciples surrounding him.

"I fought for this sect."

"I bled for it."

"I carried people on my back when they couldn't walk."

"I believed..." He laughed weakly, tears mixing with the blood on his face. "I believed that if I gave enough... someone would stand beside me when it mattered."

His smile slowly twisted.

"I was wrong."

He slowly raised his head.

"But in the end..."

His crimson eyes swept across the thousands of disciples.

"...I'm nothing more than a monster to all of you."

Silence filled Heaven's Ruin Gorge.

Then...

THUMP.

The Chaos Heart pulsed.

Golden cracks spread beneath Li Tian's skin.

The surrounding spiritual energy became violently unstable.

Tang Xiu's expression changed.

"The Chaos Heart..."

Another heartbeat shook the valley.

THUMP.

The jade barrier trembled.

Cracks spread across the ground beneath Li Tian's feet as streams of molten lava burst through the stone.

Xiao Feng's calm expression finally disappeared.

"Not good."

Golden flames erupted from Li Tian's body, instantly vaporizing the frost imprisoning his meridians.

The violent pressure blasted Mo Yun and Xinyi backward.

Even the surrounding disciples stumbled.

Li Tian slowly rose to his feet.

His wounds continued to bleed, but a twisted smile spread across his face.

"If this world has already judged me..."

Golden flames spiraled around him like furious dragons.

"...then none of you deserve the Chaos Heart."

Xiao Feng's pupils shrank.

"He's going to destroy the Chaos Heart!"

"Stop him!"

The two elders shot toward Li Tian-like streaks of light.

Thousands of disciples followed behind them.

Li Tian watched them come.

He smiled.

Then the Chaos Heart gave one final beat.

THUMP.

  • Unknown

Li Tian found himself standing before a cave that was radiating a powerful Chaos Energy. The surrounding area was completely covered in darkness, with only the terrifying aura coming from the cave entrance illuminating the endless black space. He looked around with a confused expression. "How did I get here...?" His eyes narrowed slightly. "Is this still the Chaos Realm?" The last thing he remembered was his body being destroyed by Long Bo's World Incineration, the pain from his broken bones, the weakness of his consciousness, and the feeling of death approaching were still fresh in his mind. But now, he was standing in a place he had never seen before, the pressure here was far beyond anything he had experienced before. Li Tian slowly walked closer to the cave entrance, wanting to see what was written above it. However, before he could clearly read the ancient characters carved on the stone wall— "Hahahaha!" • Unstable condition

The chaos at the Dragon Vein Mountain slowly came to an end. After the investigation was temporarily halted, the disciples and elders from the different clans began leaving the area. The terrifying scene left behind inside the mountain remained fresh in everyone's minds. Ye Xuan carried the unconscious Ye Zhing back toward the Ye Clan. Her condition was also unstable, for she had fainted after noticing that Li Tian was left behind inside the mountain. Her face was pale, and her breathing remained weak. • Many witnesses

The moment the disciple finished speaking, the entire Dragon Vein Mountain entrance remained unsettled. The accusation against the Long Clan was too serious, nobody expected that the situation would turn in such a direction. At first, everyone believed Li Tian was the only suspicious person, because he was the only one who survived after entering the Dragon Vein Mountains, but now, a witness had stepped forward, and his words had created another possibility. Before anyone could respond, another figure walked forward from the crowd. "Great Elder Yu." Everyone turned their attention toward the newcomer. It was Gu Shan, and behind him were several other disciples who had also been rescued by Li Tian inside the Dragon Vein Mountains. They immediately walked forward. The Long Clan elders frowned when they saw them. "What are you all doing?" Gu Shan ignored the question and looked directly at Great Elder Yu. "We came here to speak the truth." Great Elder Yu nodded. "Then speak." Gu

  • The witness

The Great Elder Yu raised his hand, stopping the rising tension between the two sides."It is unfortunate that such a tragedy happened during this competition," he said with a heavy voice. "However, I want everyone to understand that the matter will be investigated thoroughly. If anyone is found responsible for what happened inside the Dragon Vein Mountains, they will be punished accordingly."His words echoed throughout the area. However, the Long Clan elders showed no intention of accepting the explanation. Their eyes remained fixed on the lifeless bodies of their four geniuses..These were not ordinary disciples.
