Upon hearing Serenity’s quiet confession, Winston’s father tilted his head slightly, surprise flickering across his face. His brows drew together, the weight of confusion pressing deeper. “What do you mean it’s your fault?” he asked, his tone more curious than accusatory. “What exactly happened that would make your father—your own grandfather—not want to see even you?”

Then Serenity exhaled softly, her fingers curling around each other in front of her. Her gaze dropped for a second, as if grounding herself before revealing what had clearly haunted her.

“It’s about the one who treated him,” she began. “The miraculous doctor apprentice.”

Winston’s father remained still, listening.

“He… he was actually the one grandfather betrothed me to,” she said slowly. “And I… I chased him away. More than once.” Her voice thinned with guilt.

“I insulted him. I doubted him. I accused him of things I didn’t understand... and the last time I saw him, it was on a cold evening.”

She paused, swallowing ba

Because he knew that since General Marcus was involved in the smuggling of potions, there is definitely going to be some other ranking officers, generals, or even more higher rank than generals, that is also involved in this. And without being told, he knew that definitely war is coming. And also, he really wants to know where and how they got those forbidden potions, and how come the Circle, they are kind of getting stronger, and how they were able to get their hands on that kind of potion. And he needs to find who and how they were able to get it into the country.Damien’s mind was racing now, but his expression remained unreadable, like a man who had made peace with the storm he was about to unleash. Whoever smuggled those forbidden potions whoever opened the doors for such dangerous power to leak into the shadows of the nation had to be uncovered. Not just uncovered—exposed. Burned. The Circle was no longer a faceless rumor whispered among mercenaries and cowards. They had structu

At that moment, the Brain’s fingers froze on the edge of his desk, the weight of Damien’s words crashing into his mind like thunder. His pupils dilated slightly, and for a brief moment, silence filled the room. The usually unshakeable Brain, known for being calm even in the face of chaos, was now visibly disturbed. Then he sat upright, eyes fixed on the glowing screen of his secured communicator, unable to look away.He had worked under Damien for years, and in all those years, Damien had never, not once, called for a full general meeting. Damien operated from the shadows, commanding legions and empires without ever showing his face. His name alone sent shivers down the spines of even the bravest warriors. His presence had always been distant yet absolute, like a god who ruled from a high throne, never needing to descend. But now…Damien wanted to stand before them.At that moment The Brain slowly walked away from his seat, his breath shallow. He walked to the reinforced glass window

At that moment, Damien calmly said, “I don’t have any issue with you anymore. Since you’ve come clean, I’ll no longer kill you immediately… but I’ll still punish you for what you did.”Winston’s father’s eyes widened instantly. “W-What? Punish me? But… I told you everything! I came clean!” His voice cracked, rising with desperation. “You said you wanted the truth, I gave you the truth!”However Damien didn’t respond. He just stared at him with that same unreadable coldness in his eyes. Then Winston’s father stood up shakily, pointing at Damien. “You… you killed my son! I was angry! I acted out of pain and rage! I made a mistake, I admit it! I’m sorry! Why… why are you still going to punish me?!”But before he could finish what he was saying, Damien slowly walked closer, his steps silent, heavy with judgment, and gently raised his hand.Immediately Winston father froze. Then, Damien’s index finger pressed down lightly on the center of his forehead. In that instant, Winston's father bod

At that moment, Damien’s eyes narrowed slowly, but he didn’t move. His presence alone was already towering enough to freeze the air in the room. His voice came out calm, yet dangerously quiet—each word layered with a hidden storm.“What did you help General Marcus smuggle?” Damien asked again, his tone leaving no room for excuses. “Don’t play games with me. I don’t want guesses. I want the truth.”Immediately Winston’s father shivered slightly. His lips quivered as he tried to find words, but the weight of Damien’s eyes on him was heavy—like judgment itself had stepped into his home. He knew this wasn’t a time to fabricate stories. He had seen what happened to the assassin just minutes ago, and that man was no amateur.“I swear to you,” Winston’s father finally said, voice low and shaky, “I don’t know the exact substance.”He raised his hand in surrender and added quickly, “Marcus never told me what I was helping him move. All I knew was… it was dangerous. He said it was something tha

The question hung in the air, heavy, unhurried, suffocating.Immediately Winston’s father’s mouth went slightly open, his eyes pushing up in both shock and mounting anger. But before he could form a response, before the thoughts even found words Damien spoke again. His voice this time was firmer. Certain.“Exactly. She didn’t do anything.”He paused, letting that truth settle like a stone in Winston’s chest.Damien’s eyes narrowed now, the mirth gone from his expression. His presence felt even more overwhelming, like the very walls were listening to him speak.“And in your case too…” he said, now circling slowly to Winston’s side.“She won’t dare, she won’t try.She wouldn’t even speak.”Still, Winston’s father’s eyes remained wide, frozen in disbelief, his entire body tense and locked in place. He couldn’t bring himself to speak—not because he didn’t want to—but because deep down, he knew what Damien had just said was the truth. When Damien killed Winston, the War Goddess did nothing

  • Chapter 391

At that moment, Winston's father's eyes were pushed wide open, far wider than they had ever been before. He couldn't breathe, he couldn't speak either. His mouth opened, but no sound came out at first. The room that once echoed with arrogance now held nothing but a deafening silence and the horrifying sight of a severed head lying still in the center like a curse that had come true. Then it hit him, fear, it was raw, unfiltered fear.It gripped him like chains wrapped around his chest, dragging him down. His knees weakened, and he staggered backward until he fell into the chair behind him.He collapsed, his body trembling, his hand gripping the edge of the armrest like it was the only thing keeping him from passing out.His mouth quivered as he tried to gather words, but his voice betrayed him.“W-Who… who is… Tyler?” he stammered, his voice barely a whisper, yet thick with desperation. “What… is going on? Why? What the hell is this?” At that moment his eyes darted between the head o
