Chapter 13

The girl had a bewildered look on her face as she saw the tip of the blade being pointed at her neck while Lucas sat on her stomach making it difficult for her to move. She had found many other humans and she had managed to defeat them but now she had just lost to another human.

"So, can we talk like civil people miss demigoddess?" Lucas asked her after she didn't reply the first time.

The girl grit her teeth as she glared at him when she heard that but then sighed before looking at him.

"Fine, we can talk." The girl said to him.

"Great." Lucas said with a smile as he stood up but it couldn't be seen due to the scarf.

He sheathed his sword and then showed his hand to her. The girl looked at the hand confused before looking at him. He gestured to his hand and she slowly grabbed it. Lucas then pulled her up and let her hand go.

He then turned around and sat on a rock and beckoned her to sit at the rock beside him. The girl huffed before she made her way to the rock and sat on it. After a few seconds passed Lucas decided to ask his questions.

"So, first of all, what is your name?" Lucas asked her as she looked at him blankly.

"Aslaug." The girl, Aslaug simply said.

"Alright then Aslaug, you said you are a demigoddess, yes." Lucas said to her.

"Yes I'm a demigoddess, do you doubt me?" Aslaug said indignantly.

"No I don't. I just wanted to make sure. That's why I want to know this, who is your godly parent?" Lucas asked her calmly.

Aslaug looked at him silently when he asked her. Lucas became a bit confused as to why she didn't answer him as he looked at her. Aslaug looked at him for a few more seconds before sighing.

"I don't know who my godly parent is." Aslaug said to him.

"Wait you don't? Then how are you so sure that you're a demigoddess?" Lucas asked her.

"Hmph, of course I'm sure! If not then I wouldn't have this with me." Aslaug said as her sword appeared in her hand in a yellow light.

Now that the fight was over Lucas could clearly see the blade and could make out runes on the blade. The handle also has engravings on them. Lucas could also see the aura around the sword with his eyes but unlike with the books the aura surrounding the sword and felt a lot more different.

The sword itself is quite a work of art. The sword is blue in colour with the engravings on the middle and flat part of the blade. The whole sword itself seemed to have been made using one piece of metal so the handle was also part of it. There were engravings in the hand guard and pommel as well.

"So that sword is from your godly parent. How strong is it?" Lucas asked her.

"The sword is very strong. I'm sure that this is one of the strongest swords in the world." Aslaug said as her tone became haughty.

"Yes I agree the sword is very impressive. Unfortunately you don't have the necessary skill to use it." Lucas said to her.

"Wah. Well I am quite a competent swordswoman you hear me! My reflexes and reaction to situations are much faster than mere mortals." Aslaug said indignantly.

"Alright alright no need to talk like that. Then, why don't we talk about the reason I have come here." Lucas said with a smile.

"You want me to fight for your side in the war don't you?" Aslaug said flatly as she looked him in the eye.

"Well mostly, I could get a strong accomplice so that was there as well." Lucas said to her.

"I really don't want to be a part of something like a war between mortals. It's beneath a demigoddess like me to participate in such a petty thing like that." Aslaug said in a prideful tone.

"You still have that pride huh. Well in that case how about a deal?" Lucas said to her.

"What kind of deal?" Aslaug asked him.

"As long as you aren't able to defeat me in a battle you will have to be my subordinate. When you are able to defeat me in battle you will be free to do as you please. This deal is quite fair is it not?" Lucas said to her as he layed out the deal.

Aslaug considered the deal as she thought about it.

'That is a fair deal. And I can't just decline, this mortal has managed to defeat me in battle and if I, a demigoddess refuses it then I won't be able to look at myself.' Aslaug thought with a frustrated look on her face.

Lucas meanwhile saw the frustration on her face which caused him to smile at it.

'It would seem her pride won't allow her to decline this. Then again, I was counting on that to happen.' Lucas thought to himself happily.

He waited for her to give her answer and a few seconds later she looked at him.

"Fine, I accept the deal. But only because as a demigoddess I can't decline a fair deal with a mortal. But don't let this get to your head cause I will defeat you you hear me mortal!" Aslaug said as she pointed at him with an angry face.

"And I'll be waiting for that day to come. But I must warn you, you have to train much harder if you want to defeat me. Considering that I will keep on getting stronger." Lucas said as he got up.

"Hmph, I'm a demigoddess, my body shall get stronger quickly than a mortal body." Aslaug said haughtily as she made her sword disappear.

"Alright then. I know you have agreed to the deal but let's make an official one here." Lucas said to her.

"Why?" Aslaug said to her.

"To make it kind of official like how a king or queen signs a document after agreeing to a deal. We can shake our hands as a sign of agreement." Lucas said to her.

"Fine. I don't mind. I still think it's a waste of time but you want to do it so I'll indulge you." Aslaug said to him.

Lucas smiled when he heard her. Then a magic circle appeared on his right hand which was hidden by his glove.

"As long as you Aslaug are unable to beat me in battle you will have to serve me as my subordinate. When you are able to defeat me in battle you shall be free. Do you agree to the terms Demigoddess Aslaug?" Lucas said to her as he presented his right hand.

"I, Demigoddess Aslaug, accept the terms of this deal." Aslaug said as she grabbed his hand, though she made sure to squeeze it a bit.

Lucas felt it but he was more happy about what was to come.

"The terms of the deal have been agreed upon by both parties. This contract has been agreed and sealed." Lucas announced with a smile.

"Wait what?" Aslaug said surprised when she heard it.

But before she could voice out her confusion Lucas's hand glowed and the magic circle appeared on top of both their hands. She was surprised but Lucas was happy as both the circles joined together and then disappeared and covered the two in a purple aura before disappearing.

"What was that?" Aslaug shouted as she yanked her hand from his.

" Do not fret. That was a simple oath spell. Though I say simple it is quite powerful according to how you use it. It makes it so that both parties keep both the ends of the contract and don't break it. If one party does manage to break the terms of the contract the spell will cause some bodily harm but it won't be threatening." Lucas explained with a smile.

"You bastard! You tricked me!" Aslaug shouted as she glared at him.

"I was just making sure that I could trust you with the things that I would ask you to do. This is an insurance and you know the terms, for you to be free all you have to do is beat me in battle." Lucas said to her.

"Bastard." Aslaug said with disdain as she glared at him.

"Now now, let's get out from here shall we. We can talk after we get to my house." Lucas said with a smile as he started to walk away.

Aslaug looked at him angrily before she sighed and walked behind him knowing the deal. Lucas meanwhile smirked when he saw that she was following him.

'This will make things more easy for me.' Lucas thought to himself with a smirk.
