Lucas glared at the demigoddess as he stopped her attack as he was pushed a bit backward by the force of the attack. While the demigoddess herself was surprised that he blocked it.

'He blocked my attack. And at the speed he reacted to it. He seems to have good training.' The demigoddess thought to herself.

She then jumped backwards and stood on the ground before charging at Lucas. She did a wide swing from the left but Lucas managed to block it as well. He then attacked her which she blocked with the broad side of her blade. She grit her teeth when she blocked it.

'Hmm, he is strong as well. Guess I shall use my true strength against him.' She thought as she jumped back making distance between the two of them.

"Rejoice mortal, for I shall use my true strength against you." The girl declared to him.

"Oh really? Let's see then." Lucas said as he got ready.

'So she was holding back after all. Let's see how strong she actually is.' Lucas thought seriously.

The demigoddess smiled and then shot towards Lucas as she kicked a dust cloud. Lucas widened his eyes for a second before narrowing them and then swung his sword in front of him. His blade met the girls as she appeared before him. This time he slid back a bit from the force of the strike while sparks appeared when their swords met.

'Well, she's strong all right.' Lucas thought as he held him ground.

He then increased the strength in his arms and then pushed her backwards. She did a summersault in the air and landed on the ground. She crouched before she appeared before him again and swung her sword. He reacted immediately as his blade met hers as sparks were created from the friction. But this time Lucas didn't slide backwards, rather it seemed that he had managed to cancel out the attack.

"What?" The girl said surprised that he didn't move.

Lucas smirked when he heard her as she looked at him. He threw her back again with her landing safely on the ground as she looked at him surprised.

"What's wrong? Surprised that I managed to cancel out your attack?" Lucas asked as he twirled his sword in his hand.

"Hmph! Maybe you are stronger than those bandits. But in the end I am superior to you." The girl said haughtily.

"Then I guess it's my job to knock you down your high horse." Lucas said as he got into his stance.

The girl got ready as she looked at him. Then the next second he appeared right in front of her poised to deliver an attack. She widened her eyes and barely managed to block the attack, but the force from the strike made her slide back a bit. This caused her to widen her eyes.

'H-How? He appeared right in front of me! And the strength of this attack is big!' The demigoddess thought with an alarmed look.

"Surprise." Lucas said with a smirk before pushing his sword forward.

The demigoddess put more strength as her sword was pushed a bit backwards. She couldn't believe that a human was able to push her sword back. Every human she had fought wasn't as strong as he is.

'He's stronger than the humans I have fought before. Much stronger. But I can't lose. I'm a demigoddess, I can't lose to this mortal.' The girl thought stubbornly as she grit her teeth.

She then put more strength and pushed her sword forward. She smirked at him but that smirk soon disappeared when he manoeuvred his sword and moved her blade to her left. He then broke the blade lock and kicked her in the stomach using his left leg.

"Wha—!?" She let out when she felt his kick on her stomach.

She didn't have any kind of armor on her so the kick met her stomach at full force. The attack sent her tumbling backwards but she managed to recover in a few seconds. Lucas meanwhile was looking at her seriously.

'Compared to Master who could cancel out my attack with his sword she doesn't seem to really know how to use her strength properly. Then again, me and my master had reached Peak Human Condition from all the training the both of us did. I mean, I have a very fit and powerful body from the training I did and that is not counting the magical strengthening I can do. The fact that she is able to contend with me while still being inexperienced shows that she is quite strong.' Lucas analysed as he looked at the demigoddess seriously.

"You! How dare you kick me!? I'll show you my strength mortal!" The girl said angrily.

Her eyes glowed a yellow hue as an aura appeared around her. Lucas widened his eyes when he saw it before he narrowed his eyes. The girl then disappeared and appeared before him but this time Lucas blocked her attack but was pushed back a bit. His muscles strained a bit from the force of the attack but it was for just a second.

He moved his sword in a downward angle which caused her sword to move in that direction as well. But the girl retracted her sword and swung again but Lucas parried it. Then the girl started to dish out attack after attack while Lucas parried them. She was using more of her strength which caused a few dust clouds to appear from the attack.

'She is using more strength now. She doesn't have much skill but she compensates for it with more power. Guess I have to respond in the same way.' Lucas thought seriously.

He blocked her strike and then let go of his sword. Her eyes widened when he did it as his sword circled her blade. Lucas grabbed it's hilt when it came to the left and did a wide swing using his left hand. The girl adjusted her sword and managed to block it as sparks were created while she felt vibrations from her sword. Lucas meanwhile narrowed his eyes when he saw a small crack forming on his blade.

'Damn it, I have to end this fight fast or my sword will shatter.' Lucas thought to himself seriously.

His eyes glowed a purple colour as his sword disappeared in a purple glow which surprised the girl. His sword then appeared in his right hand as he swung in the anti-clockwise direction. The girl hastily guarded against it only for the sword to disappear again.

'Is he using magic! But I thought only the court mage of the kingdom knew how to use it!' The girl thought alarmed.

She then swung her sword at him but Lucas smirked before he disappeared in a purple glow from in front of her. She widened her eyes before she felt an attack from behind her as she turned around and blocked his blade. Lucas vanished again and appeared behind her and she swung her sword at him. But her sword batted away his while he was nowhere to be seen.

Then he appeared beside her and then grabbed her right arm and picked her over his head and slammed her on the ground. The force was strong enough that a little dust cloud appeared from it.

"Gahah!" The girl let out as felt pain at her back.

She let go of her blade which vanished in yellow light while Lucas summoned his sword to him and pointed it's tip at her throat as he sat on her stomach. The girl was wide eyed when she saw his blade at her neck while Lucas had a smirk.

"So, why don't we have another talk. I'm sure you can be more civil after this. Right miss demigoddess?" Lucas said with a smirk at the girl.

Olivia couldn't believe what was happening right now. She had entered the throne room, ready to fight against the enemy prince. But right after she had dodged the energy attack from Eric, a smaller attack had hit her, and to her surprise she didn't feel any pain from him, which was confusing for her and concerning. And then before she was able to think about the attack, her body moved forward, her arms curled around the shaft of her spear as she slashed her spear, right towards Lucas. This alarmed her as she wasn't able to stop herself as she felt fear, and then relief when he had parried her attack and pushed her back. But then she saw Master Andvaranaut attack him with his spear as well as he also parried the attack and made the man fall back. And she saw Kriemhild attacking him from behind as he was moving to protect himself, but Aslaug appeared as she met with Kriemhild and pushed her back which gave her more relief. Which was when Olivia saw the yellow glow in her master'

Lucas and his companions stormed the palace as they charged in through the main door and ran as they didn't find any guards there, but they kept running to find the mage and stop this war. They ascended a flight of steps to get to the throne room. But they were met with the sight of more than 100 soldiers who were ready with their weapons as they immediately honed in on the intruders. "Attack!" The commander shouted as the soldiers ran. Arrows and magic flew towards them as Lucas and Aslaug charged forward and sliced the magical attacks while the others followed their lead while dodging the arrows as the enemy soldiers were charging at them at the same time. Olivia wreathed her spear with lightning as she threw it as it sailed through the air and impaled through a line of soldiers and stabbed through the heart of a mage, before it yanked itself out and flew back towards Olivia as she grabbed it as she met the soldiers blades with her alongside the rest. Andvaranaut had noticed ho

  • Chapter 67

Lucas and his group charged through the territory as they passed by civilians and soldiers, the latter of which they dispatched off pretty quickly, as it was quite easy for Lucas to do so with his magic. He also had held from Olivia and Andvaranaut as they also used their spears to shoot lightning at the enemies, the two weapons were given to them by the court mage and they were pretty reliable weapons. Aslaug watched them and frowned as her own sword is unable to do the same thing, which makes her limited in terms of range, which in hindsight would've been useful when she had first fought against Lucas. 'Hmm, I guess that is a limitation I have.' Aslaug thought to herself as she rode the horse as they charged at the castle. Of course, the way to the castle wasn't quite easy as there were soldiers that tried to kill them but they were dispatched off quickly as they made the horses run faster as they felt the wind over their faces and skin as they charged, it was true for Lucas,

  • Chapter 66

Lucas felt his power increase as the runes were becoming more attuned to his body as his own body was getting used to them as well as they were harmonizing as he ran towards the golems and his own brats as the others followed on their foot as they charged at the enemies. Alpha and the rest of the boys also noticed their Lord and the army coming towards them with Lucas at their helm. the guy himself nodded to them as he approached as they smiled at his acknowledgement, but focused back on the battle as they knew that it had more priority at the moment. Lucas charged forward, not about to let this opportunity go by as Aslaug immediately followed after him, being the only one who is equal ground to him, followed by Andvaranaut, Olivia and Kriemhild as they charged. He reached the nearest golem as his sword sang as he slashed it's leg as he passed one of his boys as he slashed off its right arm, grabbed it to have leverage before he plunged the sword into the golems head, got a foot

  • Chapter 65

Lucas couldn't believe his eyes as he saw the golems that were attacking them as he couldn't help but squint his eyes as he saw the things. His irritation growing at how much of a problem this new mage was being to them and how much he wanted to end his life so that he doesn't have to deal with all these things. By now the rest of his group had also spotted the golems as many of the soldiers paled at the sight while Andvaranaut, Olivia and Kriemhild were tense as they saw them. Aslaug just frowned as she looked at the golems, her expression hidden by the helmet. Lucas licked his lips as he growled at the sight of the enemy, the image of his wyvern being hurt was etched into his mind as he could vividly recall the sight of his charred chest and damaged wings. He was going to make them pay for what they have done. "Why don't you use your portals to just send them back." Andvaranaut asked him as they had moved back due to the assault. "It still costs me energy to use my magic. I don

  • Chapter 64

The soldiers watched with wide eyes as the portal devoured the attacks from the enemy as they were awed by the sight in front of them as Lucas grit his teeth while the others watched. "Woah." Olivia said in awe at the sight. "Impressive." Andvaranaut said with a nod. "Master Lucas..." Kriemhild said in awe at the giant portal in front of her. The other soldiers who are being protected by him were also awed as they watched the deadly attacks being taken into the portal as he himself is gritting his teeth to ensure that the portal is stable and stays open, otherwise then the soldiers behind him are sure to die, while the more skilled ones would at least be able to dodge the attacks. Aslaug watched the spectacle as she gripped her sword tight as she saw the magic he is using as she watched the powerful attacks being devoured, and she knew that he would also be able to do the same thing to her if he wanted to. Lucas kept his focus as he kept the portal open until the attack wa
