Chapter 19

"What's wrong I thought you were quite strong?" Lucas asked Aslaug as he jumped back a bit after taking care of a few soldiers.

"You weren't even taking me seriously when we fought." Aslaug said to him and her anger could be heard from the voice.

"That I did. I did not want anyone to know about my full strength." Lucas said to her as he saw a few soldiers standing a few feet away from him terrified.

He smirked at this and then swung his sword in front of him sending a wind blade at the at high speeds. The soldiers tried to run but they were cut in half by the wind blade with only one barely dodging it. Aslaug looked at the state of the soldiers before looking at him.

"Just how did you get so strong. That strength is greater than what a human can possess. That goes beyond the limits of what a human can do." Aslaug said to him as she surveyed the battlefield.

No soldiers were coming to the two of them when they saw Lucas with her and she knew that fact. It hurt her pride that the soldiers were more afraid of Lucas than her.

"Limit? What limit? The only limit a person has is the ones they set themselves. These people thought that there is a limit to their strength and mentally put a limiter on their growth. But I'm not the same, as far as I am concerned, there is no limit." Lucas said to her before shooting forward.

She watched as he met with the enemy army and then started to tear through their ranks again. The others were very afraid but still tried to fight him with arrows. Of course nothing worked on him as he made quick work of the soldiers. But as he was going through them he stopped as he felt something which caused his eyes to narrow.

'Hmm, I can feel mana concentrating at the enemy camp. Are they doing a large scale spell or something?' Lucas thought to himself.

He looked at the enemy soldiers and was about to attack them but then he felt the mana rise which caused him to stop the attack and look at the camp. The next moment lightning rose from the camp and went into the sky. This caused the armies to stop fighting as they looked at it.

The lightning, which Lucas can sense contains mana, rose to the sky and struck the clouds. The clouds started to darken as lightning started to course through it as the armies watched with wide eyes.

"Oh no, that's high grade magic." Andvaranaut said with wide eyes.

"Retreat!" Olivia shouted to her soldiers when she saw it.

The soldiers around her started to retreat in response to seeing this while those in the enemy army cheered when they saw it.

"Weather magic." Lucas said as he looked at the sky.

"What are you doing mortal?! We have to move!?" Aslaug said to him as she came to him.

Even if she is a demigoddess she does not want to fight against magic of that calibre.

'Tch, guess I should do that.' Lucas thought as he noted that lightning arcs were becoming more and more in there.

"Alright, let's go. Retreat!" Lucas said to her before ordering the soldiers around him and then sprinting back with her in tow.

Not soon after lightning started to rain on the battlefield on the Norwegian armies side. It is a powerful attack which managed to claim the lives of many soldiers. Andvaranaut, Olivia, Lucas and Aslaug who were stronger than most soldiers managed to avoid it as they managed to get a greater distance away from it. They went out of the range of the spell and stopped as they looked at the battlefield.

The battlefield was charred and broken from the lightning that struck it and many soldiers also perished from it. Olivia grit her teeth in response while Andvaranaut narrowed his eyes. Lucas looked at the enemy camp as the lightning clouds stopped raining lightning.

He managed to see the prince of the country looking at their direction and smirking when he saw it. He narrowed his eyes at this and then turned around and walked to a soldier. This gained the attention of the other's as they looked at him.

Lucas sheathed his sword and then grabbed a bow and arrow. The other soldiers, including Andvaranaut, Olivia and Aslaug looked at him with wide eyes when they saw it.

"Wait, what are you doing?" Olivia asked him.

"I'm shooting at the enemy." Lucas said to her before loading the arrow and pulling the string.

He pulled the bow to the maximum but still kept on pulling as it started to make creaking sounds.

"I don't think the bow would be able to handle being stretched this much." Olivia said to him.

Lucas didn't reply and pulled the string to the maximum and then taking clear aim shot the arrow. The moment it left the bow the arrow shot forward in incredible speed. But the bow broke the next moment as he grabbed it.

But Lucas's attention wasn't on the now broken Bow but on the arrow he had sent their way. Olivia, Andvaranaut and Aslaug looked at the arrow as it tore through the air. The arrow sped through the battlefield as it tore the wind.

Eric meanwhile is looking proudly and smugly at the battlefield. He looked at the court mage standing a few metres behind him. He is glad that he decided to bring him with him to the battlefield.

"It worked perfectly. They were running like chickens." Eric said with a laugh.

"This will also give us room to reinforce our forces." The commander said before he gave more orders to his second in command.

Eric smiled as he looked ahead. But then a glint in the distance caught his attention as he squinted his eyes to look at what it is that is making it. But then his eyes widened when he saw the arrow which was shot by Lucas screaming towards him.

He immediately tried to move away, emphasis on tried as the arrow pierced his left shoulder.

"Gaaah!" Eric screamed in pain as he felt the arrow pierce his skin and lodge itself in his shoulder.

"Your highness!" The commander shouted along with the soldiers when they saw it.

The commander moved to the prince and then slowly removed the arrow as the prince cried in pain.

"Hold on your highness. I'll heal it." The mage said as he started using his magic.

The mage used healing magic as it healed the wound. Eric looked at his shoulder and even though it is healed now he felt phantom pain from it. He stayed on the ground for a few more seconds before standing up. He held his shoulder and glared at the enemy camp.

"Commander." Eric said in a low voice.

"Yes my Lord?" The commander asked him.

"Bring me the other squadrons for the flanks. I wanted to give them time to surrender but it seems they don't want it. We will destroy their army using brute force." Eric said seething in rage.

"Y-Yes my lord." The commander said before bowing and moving away.

The soldiers didn't dare approach the Prince as he glared at the enemy camp. Lucas however has managed to see him getting struck by the arrow as he smirked causing confusion to arise among the army.

While this is going on above the battlefield in the air a man covered in mage like armor is looking down at the battlefield with a smile on his face.

"Well, this is quite interesting. Lucas Larsen, you have quite an amount of mana for a normal mortal." The man said with a smile.
