Chapter 2

'It has been what, 12 no 13 years since I awoke in thei world in the body of Lucas. And I was about to graduate out of college as well. I was very confused when I awoke in this body but thankfully since I had already matured by that time I was able to adapt quickly. I quickly learned that I was in the 6th century in the country of Norway. I also came to know that I am the son of a duke and holds significant power in the kingdom. But that didn't mitigate the fact that I had now lost my previous life, all that hard-work I put in gone.' Lucas thought to himself as he sighed at the last part.

He then went to the shelf with books and took one and traced along its spine.

'I also learned that humans weren't the only race in this world and that magic also exists. But magic has now rarely been used by the people in this land and even though they believe in the Norse God's, they consider it a hassle since it takes a lot of time to learn magic. The machinations, the words, the letters, all of which makes it hard. Due to that, many favor martial arts than the mystic arts which has led to there not being many magicians in Norway.' Lucas thought to himself as he placed the book back in its place.

Then he traced his fingers along the books and then stopped at a book with a blue colour. He then grabbed the top of the book with his index finger and pulled it. The sound of something moving could be heard as the shelf moved to the right to reveal doorway. He opened the door quickly and entered it. After he entered it led to a room with another shelf containing books, he then ran his hand through the books before taking the one he wanted.

It looked like a normal book but to the trained eyes of someone who practices the mystic arts they would be able to see the aura covering the book. And not just the one in his hand but the other books as well. Lucas then took the book out of his secret room and placed it on the table as he closed the door and placed the shelf back.

He then flipped the book open and started to go through the things that were written in it. A problem was that it was written in Ancient Nordic language so he had to wait a year to learn it as there weren't many who knows or studies that language. The book he had in his hands was a tome from ancient times which contained knowledge on how to use space magic, not just spatial magic. He had put a new cover on it to disguise it in case anyone found it.

The reason he was interested in space magic was that while elemental magic is very cool and powerful, space magic also has a lot of advantages. The most common space magic used by magicians is teleportation and portals. After that they focused more on the elements. But as someone from the modern world he knew the importance of space, and learning a magic that allowed him to control it was too good of an opportunity to let go.

'That being said, learning space magic is so damn hard. The other elemental magic had more tomes due to them being used more while space was the type which was scarcely studied so he had to study very hard to use it. And I only got to the mid tier spells after learning it for over 3 years. This is much more difficult to use and master than the elemental magic. I guess I know why many stopped practicing it.' Lucas thought to himself as he went through the notes.

He would then spend his time learning about the machinations of the space magic and would learn about elemental magic as well. He wasn't going to just focus on one thing, he wanted to be a jack of all trades and be ready of anything. Like that it was noon and afternoon, during which he kept his magical and martial studies.

Right now he was getting ready to go to a party held for nobles in the noble house of Adelborg with the rank of Earl who are below Marquis. He got in the attire of a nobleman and he didn't like it very much. He used his right pointing finger to loosen the collar.

'Nobles and their tight dress. I have no idea how they like this type of dress. Maybe due to their pride.' Lucas thought to himself as he got ready.

He then got into a carriage with his family and went on their way to the territory. When Lucas and his family entered the mansion and reached the hall, they were met with a huge hall which was filled with people of Norwegian nobility. The other people turned at their direction when they saw Lucas and his family. The adults went to talk with his parents while the girls were gossiping about him. The boys came and tried to be friendly with him but their prideful manner wasn't to his taste and he knew that they were only getting closer to him due to his status.

He managed to get himself out of there and took a glass of wine and ate a few of the sweets placed in the large table. He watched as the other kids his age were flirting with the ones from the opposite gender and boasting about their status while the adults were trying to gain more power and status. He didn't like the politics very much but knew it was necessary to keep the power of the nobles so he made sure to study it as well.

He was in his own peaceful time when he caught glimpse of another boy making his way to him. He recognised the boy as the heir to the Rehbindr family which holds the rank of duke as well.

"Hello, it's nice to finally meet you Lucas Larsen." The boy said as he bowed to him.

'Well, I guess trouble is here.' Lucas thought to himself as he looked at the man.
