Both heirs looked at eachother. Lucas with a neutral look while Oskar had an arrogant grin. Their armors were quite different as well. Oskar was wearing armour that showed his noble heritage and made him look good. Lucas meanwhile had worn plain armor over chainmail. Lucas had a longsword while Oskar had on his hip a decorated longsword.

The nobles started to mutter amongst themselves when they saw the way the two heirs dressed. Many complimented Oskar for his great looking armor which showed his noble blood. But the nobles were staring and muttering disapprovingly at Lucas's choice of armor as it was very plain and made him look like any normal soldier.

"Why is he wearing armour like that?"

"He should wear something more fitting of his status."

"He looks more like a commoner than a noble."

Those were the kind of chatter that was going around the nobles. As for the royal family, they were mostly curious about Lucas's choice of armor as nobles usually wore more extravagant armor. Oskar saw the gaze of the royal family at the two and smiled at Olivia.

Olivia just stared impassively at him with the same serious face. It wasn't a secret that many in the kingdom wanted the princess's hand in marriage. Due to this fact she was asked by many noble children who wanted her as their wife. She was not only the princess but also a beautiful woman as well. By getting married to her they not only get a beautiful woman but can also gain the throne of the kingdom and rise in power.

Of course the princess Olivia was aware of it as she had been taught about it by her father and mother. Due to this fact she doesn't trust the noble children. She was also smart enough to know that many of the noble children wanted her only for her position and body and disliked them to a great degree. She mostly had a dislike for those nobles who are from a high position.

These nobles were spoonfed since they were born and as such haven't worked that hard for their livelihood. Many were simply chatterboxes who tried to use their family to gain her attention. But she wasn't as weak as people would believe. Her father knew of the great dangers of the world and so had made sure to make her prepared to face the challenges in the world.

This has resulted in Olivia becoming well versed in the art of combat. This also resulted in her feeling repulsed with the noble children of the country as they don't work for their livelihood and just live lazily. That was the reason she didn't want to come to this duel as she had seen many pompous nobles fight which was very poor.

Even though they knew how to fight they weren't that strong as most of the noble children stopped their training in combat after a few years and then live the rest of their lives in luxury. Many nobles who wanted to marry her would come to fight with great armors but didn't have that much skill with the weapons. Due to this Olivia gained a lot of respect for warriors so it was a surprise when she saw Lucas who didn't wear any extravagant armor and a normal sword.

'What an idiot. The princess and the royal family is watching and he has come in such plan armor. It's hard to think of him as a noble.' Oskar thought to himself with a smirk.

'Judging by his expression he might be looking down on me due to my armor. Well, he also has an interesting set of armor.' Lucas thought to himself as he looked at Oskar's armor.

Oskar's armor had an aura around it which showed that it was enchanted. Lucas wasn't that surprised as enchanted armor and weapons was something that most noble families had. They are heirlooms that were in the possession of their ancestors and due to them being from a time when magic was practised more it was more powerful.

Lucas's family also had an armor like this and knew that most of its enchantments were for increasing defence, attack power, speed, agility etc. Some weapons also had the ability to use an element to boost their attacks. Though it wasn't out of his expectations as he thought that the guy might do something like this.

Lucas stood with an impassive gaze as the referee got ready to announce the start of the match as he held a loudspeaker like object in his hand.

"Welcome everyone, it is my great privilege to be here to witness and mediate the duel between these two distinct heirs of the noble families. First let me introduce you to the heir of the great Rehbindr clan, Oskar Rehbindr!" The referee shouted to the people.

Many cheers were sent from the nobles as Oskar basked in them. Olivia scoffed at this as she had seen how the nobles acted during these types of duels. Her parents had seen what she had done just now but made no comment.

"And now we have the heir of the distinguished Larsen clan, Lucas Larsen!" The announcer shouted as he introduced him.

The cheers that Lucas got was more from the middle class people than the nobles. Lucas never actually attended the parties held by the noble families that much and had spent a better amount of time training and mingling and helping the people in his territory. This made the commoners in his territory grow fond of him which was the reason for their reaction. Only a few noble families who supported the Larsen clan cheered for him. Olivia also saw the change in how the audience treated Lucas and was getting more curious about him.

"And now without further adieu, let the duel begin!" The announcer shouted for all to hear.

Lucas and his companions stormed the palace as they charged in through the main door and ran as they didn't find any guards there, but they kept running to find the mage and stop this war. They ascended a flight of steps to get to the throne room. But they were met with the sight of more than 100 soldiers who were ready with their weapons as they immediately honed in on the intruders. "Attack!" The commander shouted as the soldiers ran. Arrows and magic flew towards them as Lucas and Aslaug charged forward and sliced the magical attacks while the others followed their lead while dodging the arrows as the enemy soldiers were charging at them at the same time. Olivia wreathed her spear with lightning as she threw it as it sailed through the air and impaled through a line of soldiers and stabbed through the heart of a mage, before it yanked itself out and flew back towards Olivia as she grabbed it as she met the soldiers blades with her alongside the rest. Andvaranaut had noticed ho

Lucas and his group charged through the territory as they passed by civilians and soldiers, the latter of which they dispatched off pretty quickly, as it was quite easy for Lucas to do so with his magic. He also had held from Olivia and Andvaranaut as they also used their spears to shoot lightning at the enemies, the two weapons were given to them by the court mage and they were pretty reliable weapons. Aslaug watched them and frowned as her own sword is unable to do the same thing, which makes her limited in terms of range, which in hindsight would've been useful when she had first fought against Lucas. 'Hmm, I guess that is a limitation I have.' Aslaug thought to herself as she rode the horse as they charged at the castle. Of course, the way to the castle wasn't quite easy as there were soldiers that tried to kill them but they were dispatched off quickly as they made the horses run faster as they felt the wind over their faces and skin as they charged, it was true for Lucas,

Lucas felt his power increase as the runes were becoming more attuned to his body as his own body was getting used to them as well as they were harmonizing as he ran towards the golems and his own brats as the others followed on their foot as they charged at the enemies. Alpha and the rest of the boys also noticed their Lord and the army coming towards them with Lucas at their helm. the guy himself nodded to them as he approached as they smiled at his acknowledgement, but focused back on the battle as they knew that it had more priority at the moment. Lucas charged forward, not about to let this opportunity go by as Aslaug immediately followed after him, being the only one who is equal ground to him, followed by Andvaranaut, Olivia and Kriemhild as they charged. He reached the nearest golem as his sword sang as he slashed it's leg as he passed one of his boys as he slashed off its right arm, grabbed it to have leverage before he plunged the sword into the golems head, got a foot

Lucas couldn't believe his eyes as he saw the golems that were attacking them as he couldn't help but squint his eyes as he saw the things. His irritation growing at how much of a problem this new mage was being to them and how much he wanted to end his life so that he doesn't have to deal with all these things. By now the rest of his group had also spotted the golems as many of the soldiers paled at the sight while Andvaranaut, Olivia and Kriemhild were tense as they saw them. Aslaug just frowned as she looked at the golems, her expression hidden by the helmet. Lucas licked his lips as he growled at the sight of the enemy, the image of his wyvern being hurt was etched into his mind as he could vividly recall the sight of his charred chest and damaged wings. He was going to make them pay for what they have done. "Why don't you use your portals to just send them back." Andvaranaut asked him as they had moved back due to the assault. "It still costs me energy to use my magic. I don

The soldiers watched with wide eyes as the portal devoured the attacks from the enemy as they were awed by the sight in front of them as Lucas grit his teeth while the others watched. "Woah." Olivia said in awe at the sight. "Impressive." Andvaranaut said with a nod. "Master Lucas..." Kriemhild said in awe at the giant portal in front of her. The other soldiers who are being protected by him were also awed as they watched the deadly attacks being taken into the portal as he himself is gritting his teeth to ensure that the portal is stable and stays open, otherwise then the soldiers behind him are sure to die, while the more skilled ones would at least be able to dodge the attacks. Aslaug watched the spectacle as she gripped her sword tight as she saw the magic he is using as she watched the powerful attacks being devoured, and she knew that he would also be able to do the same thing to her if he wanted to. Lucas kept his focus as he kept the portal open until the attack wa

Olivia charged as she tapped her foot on the side of her horse as it picked up its pace alongside her master's as the two stabbed through the soldiers in front of them. The remaining soldiers were a few mages, archers and a handful of melee soldiers as their army charged at them. Olivia jumped from her horse as her spear channeled lightning through its tip as she threw the weapon towards the soldiers. It impaled clean through three of them as she landed on the ground and she charged forwards as she was attacked by the archers and mages. She narrowly dodged the attacks as she saw the impaled soldiers raising their weapons which surprised her as the one in the front is wielding a sword, the second and third are mages as she was impressed by their tenacity to keep going. But she focused once more as she unsheathed her sword as she sliced off the arm of the one in front as she pulled out her spear as the blood splashed on the ground as she glared at the soldiers as her spear's blade
