Chapter 6: The cold scene

He was looking around the cave when some footsteps started to grow in his direction...

" Don't tell me it's the enemies again ", Alex just had a moment of pleasure and relaxation but even it was seeming to go away from him, unfortunately. Or maybe he was blessed in some hidden ways?

As expected, the system notified him again.

He probably knew that his virtual system would not give him an answer. But despite all that...he still asked the question. And as expected, it was silent.

They were a total of four and had a well-built structure. But one of them was even more blinding to the eyes. He was somewhat unforgettable to the memory, something about him was different.

" I am a man as well, why don't I have such a great build ", Alex thought in his mind as he felt envious of the person in front of him. He was whining of course.

He glanced at them. But strangely...they all didn't look like a team or in cahoots with each other. More like they were two different and separate groups.

" Hey! what are you looking at? get down on your knees if you don't want us to kill you ", Said one of the scum as he threatened the well-built man in a strong tone.

" A bastard like you dare to raise your voice on us...who do you think you are huh, you bastard ".

The three keep calling him a jerk and bastard even though that guy kept his head down. He was unbothered by their aggressive behavior.

On the look, there was no doubt that the three were showing their dominance to the guy who was kneeling on the ground and kept looking down.

Alex found this situation unfavorable to that guy. the three guys themselves didn't look like the enemy's army but the players themselves who were showing and trying to spread how majestically scary they were. They were total scum.

Alex was angry that they kept talking cruelly to that guy. But...there was no way a person as weak as him could go against the three.

Even if he wanted to, there was no way...

The worst scenario that would happen to him if he was to expose his existence was...getting his limbs cut off and getting played around by those jerks.

The three guys surrounded that guy...

Even though Alex saw how their visual structure was, there was no way he was able to see how they looked by the face.

" Hey! bastard...say something. You were showing your dominance outside, what happened now? scared already? ".

" Pfft! you are asking this dirty bastard such a question?....what's even the use...".

The three were trying their best to say whatever that was coming to their mind. But the guy was not moving his head at all and had his full attention on the floor. Who knows what he was thinking?

Alex...he didn't know how to react but his only choice was to stay hidden and do nothing if he wanted to stay alive. His survival was more important than anything.

Getting killed here is probably meant to get stuck in this world for life.

In the real world, more than ten million people played the game in just two days and the chart broke all the records.

But more than tens of thousands of complaints were filed against the company. The people who played the game were not waking up and their mind was stuck inside the Virtual reality. As if they never exist in the real world but had already made a home in the game.

Doctors were puzzled and the solution couldn't be found. And it was the reason why higher-ups were under pressure to ban the game immediately...

The public opinion was too strong. And all the people who filed complaints were none other than senior citizens and the parents of those children.

" Hey...you seem to regard yourself highly huh, ignoring us and looking at the ground instead ".

Their patience was running thin as he was not giving them any response.

" Hey...are you deaf? ", One of them shouted as he extended his hand and pulled out the victim's head.

The person was too persistent and stubborn and didn't even show his face.

At this rate, it won't be abnormal if that victim got killed by the three. But Alex couldn't see it anymore.

He was scared...but still took out the Small gun from the torso of his pants.

No matter how scared he was, there was no way he would let anyone kill someone as pitiful as him.

One pulled his hair while another one punched him twice in the face on both sides. The punch was too strong...that the blood started coming out from the victim's mouth.

While two were torturing him, the third guy took out the gun from his torso and aimed at him.

The victim guy was looking at the ground, but there was no way he didn't know what was going on around him. When sensing the danger, he slipped his hand into his pocket while the three were busy playing him in the hardest way.

He was not resisting till now...because something was going on in his mind. How can he simply let the weakling kill him?

From the three, no one focused their attention on his hands which just took out a gun and Dagger from the torso.

Even Alex didn't see it and aimed his gun at the guy who had held the gun to aim at the victim guy.

" No matter how useless I am as a newbie, there's no way my shooting skills will betray me ", Alex thought in his mind.

Close his one eye held the gun in the right position after checking the bullets and extended both hands ahead to shoot the one holding the gun to shoot the victim guy.

As said, he was good at shooting and archery despite him being a game developer. He was not famous in university for nothing.

" You arrogant bastard, how dare you ignore me ", The guy holding the gun shouted in anger as he moved his gun to the guy in the right location and places his index finger on the holder.

The victim was ready as well, as he was ready to dodge the aim and kill the three of them.

Just like the two, Alex was ready as well...

A sheer determination appeared in his eyes. The moment that guy pressed the holder, Alex shot the bullet already.

The voice of the gun clicking was loud...The victim guy dodged the bullet immediately and finally lifted his head, his bloodthirsty eyes grinning...

And just when he was about to stab the Dagger in the chest of the guy who shot the gun,

An unknown bullet got pierced in his right leg, making it instantly disabled and falling to the ground.

Alex hid again as he didn't want to show his face as he was still scared.

The victim guy and the three were shocked. Everything happened so quickly that he was not able to see everything...

But there was one thing...the four realized someone was hiding behind the huge stone.

" Boss! someone is hiding behind the huge stone ".

" The hell...how come there's someone here ".

Even after seeing the situation, the three were talking about finding Alex and killing him, when they should worry about themselves. They probably didn't detect the dangerous situation around them.

The victim guy rose proudly as he grinned devilishly. When the three saw him smiling and grinning, they took their weapons out as quickly as they could but before they could even touch the victim guy, he slashed their necks, and stabbed them hard, making them disabled to even do anything.

No, he killed them directly. The blood started sporting out from the neck cuts.

Alex saw everything that happened in front of his eyes.

He covered his mouth again. This was probably the first time he saw someone killing people in such a ruthless way.

" Game...it's just a game, it's just a game ", He murmured, his heart skipping a beat. That guy...who he was thinking of as some small fry and a victim, had the cruelest and coldest look in his eyes.

When he just killed those three, their blood scattered on his face and clothes. Making him even colder and ruthless, like a serial killer

Alex never thought a guy could be this cruel.

He never thought he would see something like this. If it was to be the real world...that guy would have already been sent to prison for the killing.

But this world was different, there were no police and law, the survival was the most important weapon here while killing people was as normal as killing some insects.

" Will you come out by yourself or should I come there to get you? ".
