The black gunship flew back toward the southern capital, cutting smoothly through the sunny afternoon air. Inside the warm cabin, the High Emperor held his head in his trembling hands, unable to stop shaking. The terrible image of the giant metal moon floating in the stars would not leave his mind.

Princess Kaelen stayed close to Lady Vivienne, clutching the older woman’s silver dress with tight fingers. "Can the sky really break in half, Father?" the little girl asked in a soft, fearful voice.

The red warning text flashed across the main glass screen of the star cruiser, casting bloody shadows over Dustin’s face. Down below the ship, the blue and green oceans of Planet Earth were wrapped in thick, pulsing purple veins that crawled across the clouds like a giant spiderweb. The timer in the corner ticked downward in total silence, showing twenty-three hours and fifty-eight minutes before the core collapsed.Captain Sarah Drake stepped forward on the communication screen, her bruised face turning completely white with dread. "The Void Mother was the nightmare that forced humanity to build the Arks twenty years ago," Captain Drake whispered in a trembling voice. "We thought the beast was asleep beneath the deep ocean floor, but the destruction of the marauder fleet has woken it up to feed.""If that monster finishes eating the planet's core, the entire world will crack into burning dust," Captain Drake added, tears running through the soot on her cheeks. "There are still three

Suddenly, a loud, grating laugh burst through the main communication speaker of the Ark Genesis, sounding like grinding stones and rusted iron. A holographic projection flickered to life in the middle of the bridge, showing the horrifying face of Warlord Vulgath. Vulgath was a massive alien beast covered in thick black scales, with four red eyes and two curved bone tusks jutting from his mouth."Do not waste your breath screaming at your dying crew, little female captain," Warlord Vulgath mocked, his four eyes glowing with cruel, hungry amusement. "Your pathetic little colony ship is trapped in our net, and your ancient gods will not come down from the sky to save you." His heavy iron armor clanked loudly as he gestured to the swarming black cruisers behind him."Turn off your reactor locks and open your residential doors right now," Vulgath commanded with a bone-chilling sneer. "My warriors want fresh, warm meat for the breeding pits, and e

The High Emperor and little Princess Kaelen stood on the royal terrace, waving their hands until the great ship vanished into the sky.Inside the grand bridge of the star cruiser, soft blue lights illuminated the clean glass control panels. Large transparent windows wrapped around the front of the room, showing the dark sea of space filled with millions of sparkling stars. Lady Vivienne stood beside Dustin Vance, her slender fingers tightly holding the polished edge of the command table."I have never seen the world look so small, Dustin," Vivienne whispered softly, her breath catching in her throat as she stared through the glass. Behind them, the green and blue planet they had just left shrank until it looked like a tiny

  • CHAPTER 30

"What... what kind of forbidden domain is this?!" Raymond wheezed out in pure, suffocating horror, his fingers clawing at the cracked floorboards. He tried desperately to circulate his Eighth Meridian energy, but his spiritual core felt like it was buried under ten thousand tons of cold iron. "There is no Qi... there is no spell... how can you crush twenty warriors with your bare thoughts?!"Dustin took two slow, relaxed steps forward, his clean boots stepping right over the broken pieces of Raymond’s golden staff. He stopped right before the kneeling elder, looking down with cold, mocking eyes that made the old man’s soul tremble with primitive dread. Dustin did not raise a hand, and he did not show a single thread of strain on his handsome face."You spent eighty years practicing your silly magic sticks, Raymond, yet you do not even understand the weight of the air you breathe," Dustin said in a cool, level voice. He casually tucked his hands back into his coat pockets, looking down

She turned her head toward Dustin, noticing the strange, distant look in his dark eyes that she had never seen before."Dustin, what is that bright light doing?" Vivienne asked in a gentle, worried whisper, placing her slender hand softly against his coat sleeve. "The monster is completely gone, yet this litt
