Zed stood there calmly after hearing the words of Mia, his hands casually tucked in his pockets, and his gaze fixed on Mia and her friends. The expression on his face was unreadable as he glanced at them.
One of the security men walked towards Zed, his hulking figure dwarfing him instantly. "Sir, I'm sorry but you have to leave now." The guard stated firmly. "And why should I leave? I thought this mall was open to everyone?" Zed asked calmly, his gaze never leaving Mia. "You're not a customer here, Zed, you're only a creepy stalker. You say you are not stalking me and you're only here to shop...tell me, how would a trash like you afford the goods that are sold here?!" Carol spat, her tone filled with disdain as she glared at Zed. "She's right. You already lost your job in my father's company. We all know the Eclipse industries has been the one providing everything for you, and now that you have been fired you are a nobody. You are a now worthless trash!" Mia retorted. "Is that what you think? I'm trash? A nobody?" Zed asked softly. "That's what you are...a worthless stalker. In case you haven't heard, I'm engaged and I will be getting married soon. So just stop stalking me and move on with your miserable life!" Mia spat, her tone laced with disdain and disgust. "Don't cause a scene here, gentleman. Leave now so I won't have to throw you out." The security guard spoke up in a commanding tone. "I'm here to shop, and I won't leave without getting the stuff I came for." Zed replied coldly as he shifted his gaze towards the guard and glared right into his eyes. Zed heard a soft chiming sound in his head as a blue holographic screen popped up in front of him. [A compulsory quest has arrived] [Quest information: Host seems to be in a situation where his wealth is being questioned by people below him. The system wants the host to prove to them that he isn't a worthless trash. The system wants you to purchase goods with $2,000,000.] [Failure: If the host fails to complete the quest he'll lose half of the money that was given to him in the first quest.] Zed glanced at the screen, and as he read the information written boldly on it a smirk appeared on his face. After reading it all he dismissed the screen and shifted his gaze back to the security guard who was about to drag him out. "I wonder what your manager would say or do when he finds out you threw out a customer who came to buy goods of two million dollars." Zed stated confidently. Hearing the words of Zed, the eyes of everyone there widened in disbelief. "Wha..wh.. what did you just say?" The guard stuttered, disbelief evident on his face. "You heard me right... gentleman." Zed replied. "Don't listen to him! He's lying!" Mia retorted. "There's no way this man has that type of money in his account. Even if he does there's no way he'll just throw it all away in a shopping mall.. only those who are madly rich can spend like that, and he's not rich!" "Are you trying to deceive me, young man?!" The security guard voiced out in anger. "Why will I deceive you?" Zed stated. "Why don't you allow me to pick the item I want, and if I fail to pay you throw me out? But if I do pay they will have to beg me on their knees first before you throw them out." Zed added audibly. "Is that a bet?" Carol asked. "There's no way you'll be able to pay such an amount, so you're on." Mia bellowed. Zed smiled and nodded before walking away to begin his shopping. As he walked around the mall picking the items he wanted the guards made sure he stayed close to him. The reason was because he didn't trust Zed, and he had to make sure he steals nothing while he was at it. As Zed picked the most expensive items in the mall he noticed something like a countdown floating beside him. [$700,000] [$1,100,000] He kept walking around the mall, picking several items. He made sure he picked the most expensive ones so he'll reach the goal on time. He finally picked the last item which was a bottle of perfume that costs thousands of dollars. [$2,000,000] When he was done picking the bags there were so many that the guard had to assist him as they headed towards the cashier to record it and also pay the bills. Mia and Carol also walked towards the cashier. Both of them couldn't wait for Zed to get humiliated. As the cashier calculated the amount of the goods in the bags, Zed stood in front of her, and his eyes scanning the mall. He noticed that the rest of the people who came here to shop already paused what they were doing. The amount of items Zed bought caught their attention, and they were all eager to see if a poor looking man like him would settle the bill. Most of them knew he wouldn't be able to pay for it and he was only a man seeking attention from the rich folks in the mall. A few moments later, the cashier was done calculating and she shifted her gaze towards him. "Everything you bought costs $2,000,000. How do you wish to pay? Cash? Card? Or transfer?" She asked. "Transfer." Zed replied as he pulled out his phone. The cashier gave him the account number and he began to make the transaction. "Done." A few seconds later Zed spoke up, his phone stretched forward, and the receipt of two million dollars was displaying on the screen. Everyone in the mall was starstruck. Their eyes widened in shock, and a look of disbelief evident on their faces. "Don't fall for his tricks! What he shows you is a fake receipt! He didn't actually send anything! You have to get confirmation from your manager!" Mia voiced out, and the rest of the people backed her up. A few moments after she said those words, a young man in black suit walked towards them swiftly. "Mirabel! I just got a credit alert of two million dollars!" The man in black suit blurted out.

Gunfire
Zed sat motionless, her words echoing in his mind like venomous fangs burrowing deep. He stared at her, his jaw tightening, his expression now an unreadable mask of quiet rage. The grin on her face made his blood boil. His eyes drifted away, subtly surveying the room. Two armed men stood flanking him on either side, each gripping an MP5 submachine gun. Their eyes were cold, their stances rigid—soldiers on alert. Two more guarded Miss Jessica, similarly armed and alert. In the corners of the room, five additional men loitered in strategic positions, hands near their weapons, watching Zed closely. He was completely surrounded. But not unarmed. His gaze returned to Miss Jessica, who was still basking in the illusion of control.“What do you even want with my company?” Zed asked, tone now measured. “After today, I doubt it’ll even function. I was planning to shut it down myself. What good is a dead company to you?”“What I plan to do with the company is none of your business, Zed,” she sn
This wasn't the agreement
The woman approached Zed and placed the documents on the table in front of him, neatly aligning them before setting the pen beside the stack."Those are the documents you need to sign, Zed. Since you're in a hurry, go ahead and sign them so we can get this over with," Miss Jessica bellowed, placing a cigarette between her lips. She took a long, leisurely drag before slowly exhaling a thick cloud of smoke that drifted lazily toward the ceiling.Zed cast a sharp glance in her direction, his eyes narrowing slightly as he watched her. Then, with a subtle shift in his posture, he turned his gaze to the documents laid before him. Leaning forward, he picked up the pen and began to examine the papers. His eyes moved methodically across the text, scanning line after line. From the content so far, he understood that once he signed, Miss Jessica would become the new owner of the mall. That was their agreement—he had no issue with that. But as he continued to read, a frown slowly formed on his fa
Meeting Miss Jessica
Zed halted his steps the very moment he stepped out of the car, his eyes narrowing sharply as they locked onto the duo approaching him. Both men stood at a towering six feet tall, with muscles that rivaled professional wrestlers—bulging, firm, and intimidating. Their expressions were stone-cold, carved with menace, and each of them held a firearm as naturally as if it were part of their body. They marched forward like soldiers bred for nothing but bloodshed. When they were just a few paces from Zed, they came to an abrupt halt, boots pressing into the gravel with calculated authority. One of the men glared at Zed for a tense moment before finally speaking."What brings you here?" he asked, his voice deep, gravelly, and laced with quiet threat.Zed cleared his throat, straightening his posture slightly."My name is Zed. I spoke to Miss Jessica not too long ago. She gave me this address and asked me to meet her here," he replied, tone composed but firm.Upon hearing this, the man shift
A thief
Lucas halted his steps as he pulled out his phone and glanced at the screen. A slight furrow formed between his brows when he saw the name flashing across it.It was his boss—Santiago.Lucas stared at the name for a few moments, his eyes narrowing as he tried to figure out the reason for the unexpected call. The street he stood on was dimly lit and eerily quiet, with only the occasional flicker of a faulty streetlamp above. He glanced around warily to ensure he was alone before answering.“Hello, Boss,” he said in a low, cautious tone once the call connected.“Lucas... it’s been a long while,” Santiago’s deep voice echoed through the speaker.“You know you’re not supposed to be calling me, right?” Lucas muttered, keeping his voice hushed as his eyes darted around the shadows. “What if someone was beside me? You’re going to get me caught.”“I’m just calling to ask if you’ve seen the news recently,” Santiago said, ignoring Lucas’s concern, his tone laced with urgency.“You mean the thin

"I need your help, Lucas," Zed began, his voice low but urgent. "There's a place I have to be tonight. I don’t trust the person who invited me. It’s dangerous to go alone... and I need you to come with me.""I see," Lucas muttered thoughtfully. "What place, if I may ask? And at this hour of the night?"Zed exhaled deeply, his breath shaky. "It’s a long story, so I’ll skip the unnecessary details and go straight to the point. A woman I apparently offended weeks ago by buying a mall she had her eyes on just kidnapped Kimberly. Turns out, this woman leads a gang—and she’s extremely dangerous. To release Kimberly, she’s demanding that I come over to her territory and sign over the mall to her for free. So yeah... I’m going over there to sign the documents in exchange for Kimberly’s release. She claims she won’t harm me once I sign and that she’ll let me walk away. But honestly... I don’t believe a word she says. That’s why I called you."Lucas fell silent for a few seconds before respondi
I don't trust you
“Oh, please, Zed. Spare me that.” Miss Jessica scoffed after hearing Zed’s words, her voice dripping with disdain. “What are you going to do? You’re just a common engineer, after all. You have no idea what goes on in the underworld—how things work. And yet you dare threaten me?”Zed stood still for a few moments, silent, the weight of her words hanging in the air like a noose tightening around his throat. He exhaled heavily, running a trembling hand through his damp hair before finally speaking in a low, tense voice.“What do you want?”“I want what you stole from me. The mall... I want it back,” she snapped without hesitation.“I’ll sell the mall to you. Just let her go,” Zed bellowed, his voice thick with desperation and fury.“Sell? What do you mean sell it to me?” Miss Jessica asked, her tone suddenly amused, laced with a chilling mischief that made Zed’s skin crawl.“What? Isn’t that what you want?” Zed replied, confusion clouding his expression as his brows furrowed.“I said I w
