Zed made his way back to his workshop to keep the items he had just bought and also clean up the place. Zed cleaned up the whole place, and in a few hours time the whole workshop was now sparkling clean.
After cleaning it up he decided to leave and return tomorrow. There were a lot of things he had in his mind now that he just received a huge amount of money, and the first thing on that list was to change his wardrobe just like he does whenever he gets paid. As Zed walked toward the shopping mall, he couldn't help but ask the system all the questions that were bothering. "What exactly are you?" Zed asked. [I am the Wealth and Fame building system, and I am here to help you become the number one in the whole universe] "Yeah, you told me that before. But what exactly are you? Who created you or why were you granted to me?" Zed asked, but the system remained mute, not wanting to disclose such information. [There are a lot you are yet to see, host. All you have to do is call out the System's interface and it shall be reviewed] The system's voice sounded in his head. "Ah, so there are other things I'm yet to see." Zed mused, his fingers rubbing his chin as he walked down the bustling street. "System interface!" He said internally. The screen in front of him vanished, and a whole new one appeared. [Name: Zed Zimmerman] [Level: 1] [Amount left to spend to move to the next level: $10,000,000] [Shop] [Daily quests] [Lottery] [Talent] [Gamble] Zed examined the screen while walking through the street. "Hmm.. interesting." He intoned. "It's like a game. Wait, do I need to spend the whole ten million in order to move to the next level?" Zed asked. [Yes! Host is required to spend lavishly in order to move to the next level. When I say lavishly I mean spend the whole $10,000,000 that was given to you after completing the quest. Note, the money you spend from winning the lottery or winning a gamble won't be added to the $10,000,000 that you are asked to spend.] "Ah, I see. This is insane. I have to keep spending money to keep earning money. Doesn't sound bad to me." Zed grinned before lowering his gaze to examine the rest of the screen. While glancing at it he noticed some of the things that were displayed were greyed out. "These ones that are grey, does it mean it's not available?" Zed asked. [Yes, because you are a level one you don't have access to the Shop, lottery, Talent, and Gamble.] The system replied, and Zed couldn't help but frown. He chose to dismiss the screen and check the rest out when he was back home. Zed finally arrived at the grand shopping mall, and he swiftly made his way inside. The mall was the biggest shopping mall in the whole of Sunderland, and it was a place where affluent families came to buy their goods. The place was filled with rich men and women who were walking around here and there with his their families. Zed was able to blend in because he was neatly dressed, and the outfit he wore wasn't bad at all. Zed made his way to the second floor where designer clothes were sold. He wasted no time as he began to select as many as possible. Afternoon selecting clothes, he went to the shoes section and took several sneakers and other types of expensive shoes. As Zed was busy selecting lots of items, the people around couldn't help but notice, and they all glanced at him in bewilderment. Zed ignored their stares as he continued with his shopping. As Zed was busy selecting some limited edition Rolex, he heard a familiar voice from behind.. "What on earth are you doing here?" It was a soft feminine voice which Zed recognized instantly. He then turned around and saw his Ex-girlfriend, Mia, and two of her friends, Carol and Juliet. "What do you mean?" Zed asked, his face devoid of emotion as he glanced at Mia. "You heard me right, Zed. What the hell are you doing in a place like this?" Mia asked. "What does it look like? I came here to shop. You got a problem with that?" Zed replied firmly. Hearing the word of Zed, Mia bursted out in laughter, and her friend chimed in with laughter. "You? Shop in a place like this? Don't make me laugh, Zed." Mia choked out after hanging a good laugh. "What's the problem?" Zed asked with an expressionless look on his face. "We all know your whole life was dependent on her father's company. Every single thing you own was provided by the Eclipse industries, and now that you have been fired you are nothing but worthless trash." Carol, one of Mia's friends, spat. "Oh, is that what you think?" Zed asked. "Stop pretending and just admit it, Zed." Mia voiced out. "Admit what?" Zed inquired. "You are stalking me. That's it.. because what will a trash like you be doing in an expensive mall like this one and also at this exact time? You are a stalker, Zed." Mia retorted. "I'm sorry, what?" The words of Mia took him off guard. "Drop the act, Zed. You know what? I've heard enough. I can't deal with creepy stalkers like you. I'm calling the security." She remarked. "If you call the security, I won't be the one who'll be thrown out. It will be you, Mia." Zed stated. Mia paid no attention to him as she kept calling the security, and in less than a minute two bulky men in uniform arrived at their location. "What's the matter, Miss?" One of the security men asked. "Please, you guys should do something. This trash here has been following me. He is a stalker and a pervert." Mia spat, and the two security men shifted their gazes towards Zed.

Gunfire
Zed sat motionless, her words echoing in his mind like venomous fangs burrowing deep. He stared at her, his jaw tightening, his expression now an unreadable mask of quiet rage. The grin on her face made his blood boil. His eyes drifted away, subtly surveying the room. Two armed men stood flanking him on either side, each gripping an MP5 submachine gun. Their eyes were cold, their stances rigid—soldiers on alert. Two more guarded Miss Jessica, similarly armed and alert. In the corners of the room, five additional men loitered in strategic positions, hands near their weapons, watching Zed closely. He was completely surrounded. But not unarmed. His gaze returned to Miss Jessica, who was still basking in the illusion of control.“What do you even want with my company?” Zed asked, tone now measured. “After today, I doubt it’ll even function. I was planning to shut it down myself. What good is a dead company to you?”“What I plan to do with the company is none of your business, Zed,” she sn
This wasn't the agreement
The woman approached Zed and placed the documents on the table in front of him, neatly aligning them before setting the pen beside the stack."Those are the documents you need to sign, Zed. Since you're in a hurry, go ahead and sign them so we can get this over with," Miss Jessica bellowed, placing a cigarette between her lips. She took a long, leisurely drag before slowly exhaling a thick cloud of smoke that drifted lazily toward the ceiling.Zed cast a sharp glance in her direction, his eyes narrowing slightly as he watched her. Then, with a subtle shift in his posture, he turned his gaze to the documents laid before him. Leaning forward, he picked up the pen and began to examine the papers. His eyes moved methodically across the text, scanning line after line. From the content so far, he understood that once he signed, Miss Jessica would become the new owner of the mall. That was their agreement—he had no issue with that. But as he continued to read, a frown slowly formed on his fa
Meeting Miss Jessica
Zed halted his steps the very moment he stepped out of the car, his eyes narrowing sharply as they locked onto the duo approaching him. Both men stood at a towering six feet tall, with muscles that rivaled professional wrestlers—bulging, firm, and intimidating. Their expressions were stone-cold, carved with menace, and each of them held a firearm as naturally as if it were part of their body. They marched forward like soldiers bred for nothing but bloodshed. When they were just a few paces from Zed, they came to an abrupt halt, boots pressing into the gravel with calculated authority. One of the men glared at Zed for a tense moment before finally speaking."What brings you here?" he asked, his voice deep, gravelly, and laced with quiet threat.Zed cleared his throat, straightening his posture slightly."My name is Zed. I spoke to Miss Jessica not too long ago. She gave me this address and asked me to meet her here," he replied, tone composed but firm.Upon hearing this, the man shift
A thief
Lucas halted his steps as he pulled out his phone and glanced at the screen. A slight furrow formed between his brows when he saw the name flashing across it.It was his boss—Santiago.Lucas stared at the name for a few moments, his eyes narrowing as he tried to figure out the reason for the unexpected call. The street he stood on was dimly lit and eerily quiet, with only the occasional flicker of a faulty streetlamp above. He glanced around warily to ensure he was alone before answering.“Hello, Boss,” he said in a low, cautious tone once the call connected.“Lucas... it’s been a long while,” Santiago’s deep voice echoed through the speaker.“You know you’re not supposed to be calling me, right?” Lucas muttered, keeping his voice hushed as his eyes darted around the shadows. “What if someone was beside me? You’re going to get me caught.”“I’m just calling to ask if you’ve seen the news recently,” Santiago said, ignoring Lucas’s concern, his tone laced with urgency.“You mean the thin

"I need your help, Lucas," Zed began, his voice low but urgent. "There's a place I have to be tonight. I don’t trust the person who invited me. It’s dangerous to go alone... and I need you to come with me.""I see," Lucas muttered thoughtfully. "What place, if I may ask? And at this hour of the night?"Zed exhaled deeply, his breath shaky. "It’s a long story, so I’ll skip the unnecessary details and go straight to the point. A woman I apparently offended weeks ago by buying a mall she had her eyes on just kidnapped Kimberly. Turns out, this woman leads a gang—and she’s extremely dangerous. To release Kimberly, she’s demanding that I come over to her territory and sign over the mall to her for free. So yeah... I’m going over there to sign the documents in exchange for Kimberly’s release. She claims she won’t harm me once I sign and that she’ll let me walk away. But honestly... I don’t believe a word she says. That’s why I called you."Lucas fell silent for a few seconds before respondi
I don't trust you
“Oh, please, Zed. Spare me that.” Miss Jessica scoffed after hearing Zed’s words, her voice dripping with disdain. “What are you going to do? You’re just a common engineer, after all. You have no idea what goes on in the underworld—how things work. And yet you dare threaten me?”Zed stood still for a few moments, silent, the weight of her words hanging in the air like a noose tightening around his throat. He exhaled heavily, running a trembling hand through his damp hair before finally speaking in a low, tense voice.“What do you want?”“I want what you stole from me. The mall... I want it back,” she snapped without hesitation.“I’ll sell the mall to you. Just let her go,” Zed bellowed, his voice thick with desperation and fury.“Sell? What do you mean sell it to me?” Miss Jessica asked, her tone suddenly amused, laced with a chilling mischief that made Zed’s skin crawl.“What? Isn’t that what you want?” Zed replied, confusion clouding his expression as his brows furrowed.“I said I w
