Opening the door,Caroline was expecting to see Scott since they both planned earlier to hang out. But instead, she saw someone she has been trying to ignore lately, someone that has been getting on her nerves.

"Good morning,Caroline, did you sleep well?" Pedro greeted with a smile. "You look like you are about to head out, where are you going?" Pedro asked, noticing Caroline's clothes and make up.

"Non of your business." Caroline replied, annoyed by the question.

"You want me to drop you off?" Pedro ordered, pointing towards his shiny lamborghini.

"No thanks." Caroline turned him down.

"Anyways,is your dad home? I have something to discuss the whole family." Pedro voiced.

"Why? Did anything happen?" Caroline asked with a worried expression etched in her face.

"It's concerning Scott Carden." Pedro replied. "Can i come in?" Unable to wait for Caroline's reply,Pedro walked into the mansion.

Pedro walked into the living room and found the whole family sitting quietly and doing their own thing.

When Aunt Zaya spotted him,she shifted her gaze to Louis and Mrs Sjiela, giving them a mischievious smirk. Aunt Zaya could already guess why Pedro was here in their house.

Pedro did inform Aunt Zaya that he might have a way to prevent the wedding and kick Scott out of Caroline's life forever. But he refused to tell her what the plan is and would only inform her when the plan becomes a success.

Seeing Pedro right here in their house Aunt Zaya knew Pedro has succeeded in what he wanted to do.

"Greetings,Mr Fernando." Pedro greeted.

"Good morning,Pedro. What brought you here so early? Have a seat." Mr Fernando inquired, ushering Pedro to sit on the comfortable sofa.

Pedro sat down on the golden coloured sofa, grabbed a glass of scortch and gulped it.

"You said you have news concerning Scott?" Caroline asked hastily.

"Scott? What happened to him?" Mr Fernando questioned with a confused look.

"It appears Scott isn't who he claims." Pedro uttered. "Behind that innocent face, lies a chronic criminal."

"Hey,Watch how you talk to him!" Caroline shouted in anger after hearing Pedro's words.

"Relax,Caroline." Mr Fernando tried to calm his daughter down. "What made you jump to that conclusion,Pedro? You know it's wrong to accuse someone wrongly."

"This isn't a false accusation, sir. There was a witness and also proof to what i say." Pedro sounded with a confident look as he sips his scortch.

"Tell me,what happened?" Mr Fernando inquired.

"You remember that item that was suppose to be shipped to Itlay later today?" Pedro asked, taking a sip and stealing a glance at Aunt Zaya.

"Yes,The item that was suppose to be sold to Bonucci for 3 Billion Dollars?" Mr Fernando asked.

"Yes,that  item. When i got to the office this morning,i found out it was missing." Pedro explained and Mr Fernando's eyes widened in surprise. "So i called in all the staffs and began to question them. After so many investigations,i later found out the person who stole it was Scott Carden."

"What?!" Mr Fernando and Caroline exclaimed together after hearing Pedro's words, while the rest of the menbers couldn't help but smile mischieviously.

"That's a lie. Scott is not a thief. You are making it all up." Caroline spoke in disbelief.

"Well, tye item was found inside his locker and the survelliance camera recorded him going into my office when there was no one else there." Pedro voiced out.

"I knew it. I know this boy was a poser!" Louis sounded from where he sat. "We shouldn't have trusted him. He is a poor hungry bastard who would go extra mile just to feed himself!"

"That's how those riff raff's are. They try to sneak thier way into a wealthy family just to steal from them." Mrs Sheila blurted. "He should be sentenced to jail for this!"

Caroline stood there trying to digest the whole thing. She was still thinking whether Scott would be able to do such a thing knowing fully well they were about to get married.

"I can't believe what i am hearing. Caroline, how can you bring in a criminal into this house to wed?!" Mr Fernando shouted in anger.

"Let's not jump into conclusions." Caroline finally spoke up. "Scott might have a logical reason for doing this. Let's just invite him over and ask him."

"There is no logical reason to this. The poor rag is a thief!" Aunt Zaya voiced out.

"Yes,Only God knows what would have happened if he had married into this family without getting caught!" Mrs Shiela backed up Louis.

"Let's just hear him out!" Caroline sounded.

"What's the use? He would only deny everything claiming he's innocent just to escape the situation." Louis replied.

"Caroline,Call Scott and tell him to come over right now." Mr Fernando ordered, causing everyone to keep quiet. Mr Fernando wasn't the type of person who only listens to one side of the story and judge based on what he heard. He liked to listen from both ends then decide the way forward.

Caroline took out her phone and dialed Scott's number. "Hello,my dad asked you to come over. It's important."

***

Scott already knew why he was being called by Mr Fernando. He guessed that Pedro must have gone to their house to inform them about the incident that happened earlier.

Scott knew once he tells Mr Fernando everything, the marriage would be over. There was nothing Scott could do since every single evidence was pointing towards him.

It was obvious that Pedro planted the bag inside his locker just to frame him and make him look like a bad person infront of the family. But there was nothing he could use to prove himself. If only he had enough time to dig out a concrete evidence that would make them believe him.

Scott finally arrived in the mansion and walked into the living room and saw the whole family waiting for him with hateful glares.

  • Perez!

The duo ran as fast as they could until they arrived in front of a door near the inventory section. Perez pulled it open, and as they stepped inside, the guards behind them opened fire. But none of the bullets found their mark. Instead, they pierced the walls and the doorframe, leaving small holes in the metal and splintered wood. The room they had entered was vast and hollow, filled with tall, empty wooden shelves. The air was musty and thick with dust. The room was dimly lit—its only source of illumination being a single, flickering bulb dangling from the ceiling. Every few seconds, the bulb would malfunction and plunge the space into complete darkness before sparking back to life with an ominous buzz.Their breathing was heavy. Hearts pounded in their chests as cold sweat trickled down their brows. Both scanned the room with wide, frantic eyes.“Where is this place?” Blake asked, his voice barely above a whisper.“It used to be a storage room,” Perez replied as he slowly advanced.

  • Dead wrong

“What have you done?” Perez blurted out, his voice sharp and alarmed, eyes narrowing as they locked onto the prison officer who had just finished calling reinforcements through his radio. His entire body tensed, every muscle coiled like a spring. The officer returned his glare without a hint of concern. His voice was icy and deliberate.“I just called my fellow comrades,” he said calmly, the radio still crackling faintly in his hand. “They’re all on their way here now.” He took a slow step forward, his gaze unwavering. “No one escapes this place… not alive, anyway.”A chill ran down Perez’s spine. He spun toward Blake, who stood a few paces behind him, still processing the unfolding chaos.“We have to get out of here. Right now.” His tone was firm and commanding—there was no room for debate.Behind them, the officer cracked his neck with a sickening pop, his face hardening. He clenched his fists, the tension in his knuckles audible.“Not on my watch,” he growled. “You’re going nowhere

  • Locked and Loaded

The duo moved further into the room and halted in front of the massive table positioned at the center—an arsenal laid out before them, packed with firearms and ammunition of various types.Perez stepped forward first, reaching for a compact Mini Uzi. He expertly ejected the empty magazine, allowing it to clatter onto the floor, before sliding a fully loaded one into the weapon with a sharp click. He tucked the Uzi into his left pocket and turned to the next weapon—this time, a UMP submachine gun. With the same practiced ease, he removed the spent mag and replaced it with a fresh, full one. Slinging the weapon over his shoulder, Perez didn’t stop there. He grabbed several extra magazines, stuffing them into his pockets as backup, just in case a reload became necessary during a gunfight.Blake, standing beside him, was also deep in selection. He reached out and grabbed an MP5 submachine gun, verifying its load before slinging it over his shoulder. Next, he chose a long-range rifle, expe

“Understood, sir. We’ll head out immediately,” he replied sharply, lowering the radio with a crisp motion.A tense silence hung in the room like a thick fog. Then, without wasting another second, Matt turned on his heel and strode purposefully toward the exit door. The rest of the guards exchanged brief looks before falling into formation behind him. Together, they exited the cafeteria with focused determination, each man stepping in rhythm with the urgency of the command.Perez and Blake remained seated, their eyes tracking the departing guards. As the last officer vanished through the doorway, Perez leaned slightly toward Blake and murmured, his voice no more than a whisper.“Told you. Once they all leave, we move. You heard the guy on the radio. Almost all available guards have been summoned to the market square... which means the only ones left behind are stragglers. Leftovers. Shouldn’t be hard for us to take them out and get the hell out of here.”He spoke calmly, but with a qui

  • Perez unleashed

He lunged forward, swinging a heavy fist toward Perez’s face. But Perez was faster. He ducked beneath the wild punch and retaliated with a brutal strike to Duncan’s gut. The tattooed man grunted, doubling over in pain—WHAM!—just as Perez followed up with a devastating uppercut that landed with a crack loud enough to resemble a gunshot.Duncan collapsed.Flat on his back. Out cold. The entire cafeteria gasped.A sharp, collective silence swallowed the room.Everyone froze, stunned by what had just unfolded before their eyes. Dozens of eyes turned in unison, fixated on Perez, as if trying to comprehend what had just happened. The men who had stood beside Duncan moments earlier instinctively took several steps back, their faces plastered with disbelief and confusion. None of them had expected their leader—a man known for his brute strength—to go down after a single combination. It wasn’t just surprising. It was terrifying. But now wasn’t the time to act like cowards. They knew Duncan.Th

  • Silence the witness

The eyes of Mr. Fernando shot open as he rose to his feet the moment the call disconnected. Blood still dripped from the fresh cut on his cheek, but he showed no sign of discomfort. Calmly, he reached into his coat pocket, pulled out a white handkerchief, and dabbed at the crimson smear, cleaning it away with deliberate strokes. From the shadows behind the pillar, Bolasco also emerged, his boots echoing faintly against the concrete floor as he stepped forward."Well," Felipe began, his voice strained and laced with a twisted sense of hope, "she said she won’t be coming here. Instead, she’ll send her address, and I’ll bring you to her."He smiled faintly, nervously. "You can go over to the address she sends... give her a surprise attack.""Yes, kid," Mr. Fernando replied with a low, predatory grin. "That’s exactly what we’re going to do."Ding!A soft chime echoed through the dimly lit warehouse, its eerie tone bouncing off the rusted walls. Felipe turned his head sharply toward the s
