Scott walked into the living room of Mr Fernando and found the whole family there waiting for him. Everyone glaring at him with looks of disgust and hate as he walked in.

It was now clear to Scott that Pedro already informed them since he was present there also.

"Scott,i want you to confirm if what Pedro told me just now is true." Mr Fernando spoke. "Did you try to steal the item from his office?" Mr Fernando questioned.

"No,Sir,it is all a misunderstanding. I didn't take it." Scott replied without hesitating or stammering.

"Just shut up!" Mrs Shiela chimed in,her voice mixed with anger and hatred. "You didn't take it? Why then was it found in your locker?!"

"I told you there was no use inviting him over. He would just keep on denying it!" Louis spat.

Scott clenchend his fist in anger. If not for the fact that he needed to marry Catoline at all cost,he would have just broken up with her and get seperated from this wicked family.

"Scott,Pedro here showed me the video that was recorded by the surveilliance camera last night. It showed you walk into the office and when you walked in,the video blacked out." Mr Fernando explained in a cool tone as he tried to understand what was going on.

"Yes, i did enter into the office. But i only entered there to clean it since it's my job to clean after every worker has left." Scott responded. "And as for the surveilliance camera,i have no idea why it malfunctioned. It was probably a power cut out or something."

Pedro who has been sitting there, angry that Scott seemed to be answering every single question without hiccup decided to spoke up. "Every other camera was working, except the one in the office and the one in the locker room,so it wasn't a power cut out. You probably messed with the cameras just to cover your tracks!"

After hearing Pedro's words,Scott shifted his gaze to Caroline who stood there with a look of surprise and disbelief. Scott could see that Caroline was starting to believe the words Pedro spoke.

"And when the item was found in his locker today,he claimed to have no idea how it got there and he has a witness who can testify that they were both together the whole time. But when i questioned the so called witness, she said Scott was lying and they both never hung out!" Pedro continued.

"I honestly have no idea how the item ended up in my locker. I think someone planted it there!" Scott voiced out,his gaze fixed on Pedro which sent shivers down his spine and he began to sweat.

"What do you mean someone planted it there?" Mr Fernando asked with an attentive look.

"I don't know. A poor boy like me getting married to a girl who has turned down lots of guys. It normal that maybe one of those guys who has been chasing her isn't happy about our marriage is trying to frame me and make me look like a bad guy and make you cancek the wedding." Scott explained in a confident tone.

All the while Scott explained, his eyes was fixated on Pedro who now hadca nervous expression and became restless.

"You speak nonsense,Trash!" Aunt Zaya chimed in. "Who would seriously get jealous for a nobody like you? You are nothing but a trash that belongs in the gutter and not worthy of marrying the only daughter of Mr Fernando!"

This time around,Scott chuckled after hearing Aunt Zaya's words which made her face go bright red in anger.

"I think you are just jealous that someone younger than you is getting married before you. I mean, look at you,you are close to 40 years and still living with your brother." Scott shook his head in disapointment.

Aunt Zaya and other family member clenchened their fist and gritted their teeth in anger as Scott talked back at her.

"Look at him,he has no respect. He stole from us and still has the guts to insult Zaya!" Mrs Shiela voiced out in anger.

"I think Scott is right." Mr Fernando said." And besides he didn't insult anyone. He only stated facts. And by the way,did the camera record Scott actually taking the item?" Mr Fernando inquired, shifting his gaze towards the nervous Pedro.

"No,Sir. He messed with the camera before it could capture him leaving with it." Pedro replied.

"I promise i didn't take it. Give me a couple of days to prove to you that i am innocent." Scott spoke up.

The entire living room became silent as Scott spoke those words. Everyone was waiting for Mr Fernando to give his final decision.

"It's not like i believe you,Scott, but i am jusy giving you a chance to prove yourself and bring out evidence that proves your innocence." Mr Fernando stated. "You have 10 days to prove yourself. Unfailingly,I will cancel this wedding and sentence you to prison."

The entire room began to murmur among themselves after hearing Mr Fernando's decision towards Scott. They felt like Mr Fernando already liked Scott even if he was out of their league.

"Thank you,Sir. I would try to prove my innocence." Scott replied joyfully before walking out of the living room and racking his brain on how he was going to prove his innocence.

Scott leaned forward in his seat, his eyes unwavering as they locked onto Aunt Kelly’s. “I came here seeking your advice, Aunt Kelly. I know I’ve already made my decision—I just need to hear it from you. Should I proceed this way? Or would you rather I do something else?” His voice was low but resolute, laced with the weight of a decision that could change everything.Aunt Kelly, who had been standing a few paces away in silence, let out a long, tired sigh. Her eyes shimmered faintly with concern as she walked slowly toward him. She rested a soft hand on his shoulder, her touch warm, maternal.“You do whatever you have to,” she said gently. “I believe in you.”Their eyes met. Scott nodded—once, firmly—before rising to his feet. He slid his hands into the pockets of his long coat and turned toward the door.“I’ll be leaving now,” he said. “Look after Edward until the guards arrive. I’m going to meet Matteo of House Montanari. I’ll inform him about the case and convince him to give me h

"So what exactly happened?" Scott demanded, his voice sharp and filled with urgency, his curiosity piqued by the sudden revelations."Months ago, Mr. Nicola Lombardi—the owner of the biggest petroleum company in this city—tried to take over your Western lands," Aunt Kelly began, her tone grave. Scott drove his car down the bustling city street. The late afternoon sun filtered through tall glass buildings, casting golden streaks across the windshield. Inside the car, silence reigned. His right hand clutched the steering wheel with quiet intensity, his expression carved from stone, gaze fixed unwaveringly on the road ahead. His mind raced with thoughts of what had happened earlier.Mohammed—brazen and arrogant—had strolled into his territory like he owned it.Scott's jaw tightened. With his left hand, he reached down to his belt and retrieved the gleaming silver revolver holstered at his side. He lowered his gaze and stared at the weapon for a few moments, his reflection glinting back at him from the polished steel. If he’d had this revolver earlier, Mohammed wouldn’t have left the mansion alive. That was a mistake he wouldn’t repeat. He returned the gun to its holster, adjusted his coat, and pressed on.After what felt like an eternity of driving, Scott finally pulled over in

  • Double the security

The room fell into a tense silence after Mohammed finished speaking. Scott remained seated, his dark eyes locked onto his adversary with a cold, unreadable expression. His arms were folded tightly across his chest, and he leaned back slightly in his chair, unmoved. After a long, loaded pause, Mohammed finally broke the silence.“You should always be prepared, Scott. I must admit, I’m not impressed with your security. The way I walked in here—it was easy… too easy.”Scott’s eyes narrowed. “And what makes you think leaving will be just as easy as coming in?” he replied icily. “You walked into the den of your enemy for what? To introduce yourself and issue a threat? You came without an army, just a pistol. What made you believe I’d let you walk out of here alive?”Mohammed smirked. Without a word, he reached for the pistol tucked into his belt and slowly drew it. He raised it, aiming directly at Scott’s head, his finger resting firmly on the trigger.“Because if you try anything foolish,

  • An unknown visitor

A few moments after Miranda exited the hall, the wooden door flung open again, and in came a man. The man was tall, clad in a long white native attire. His face was covered with bushy black beards, and a small white traditional cap sat on top of his head. Scott raised his head slowly, and when he spotted the man, he swiftly rose to his feet and reached for the revolver at his belt… but unfortunately, there was nothing there. “Easy now, boy. You don’t want blood all over your beautiful meeting hall, do you?” the man said softly, a smirk evident on his face. He advanced forward slowly, his hands still tucked casually in his pockets. “Who are you?” Scott demanded. “You know, in a vendetta, you should always keep your weapon by your side. But look at you—completely unarmed. I could easily kill you right now,” the man spoke audibly, the smirk still lingering on his face. “I don’t need a weapon to kill a guy like you,” Scott bellowed. “And you don’t have to answer my question… I alrea

You managed to cooperate and work diligently while I was away.
